_ On 7/16/2024 - Contacted AMAutoParts inquiring about the next steps need to be taking to resolve the issue. Spoke to *****************************, Claim Manager, and while discussion the issue he refused to discuss the issue any longer and hung up . My arrgument was that they used a false advertisment when they stated that engine was tested for knocking. I took the car to two local mechaincs and both stated the same thing, BAD ENGINE. AMAutoParts accepted my claim about the bad engine but refused to recommand local Mechanic for me to take the car to local Shop in ******* area, where I reside. This company uses false advertisment practises to attract costumers, like myself, and need to be stopped. As I stated in my note, Why wilI I spend $1500 while the maximum you are welling to refund is $1200?- On 7/11/2024 - this is the note I emailed to AM AutoParts Thank you for accepting my claim. Unfortunately, I am unable to remove the engine from the vehicle myself as I lack the necessary mechanical expertise. The initial installation cost for the engine was $1,500, and I am hesitant to incur an additional expense of the same amount. Furthermore,I be lieve I should not be responsible for this cost, as the engine exhibited a knocking sound upon installation, indicating it was either faulty from the outset or the issue was expected to resolve after ***** miles. ******* driving approximately ***** miles, the problem persists. The additional expenses of shipping and removal of the engine would have been avoided if the engine had been in working order, as your company policy states. Please advise if there are alternative options available or if you can recommend a local shop that your company collaborates with directly.. This would allow me to avoid shipping costs and the expense of professional removal of the engine.Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.Best regards,*********************

Am Used Auto parts should be responsible for the removal and shipping of the engine to their shop or to recommend a local shop within ******************** area.
I was sold a defected engine and I should not be responsible for the expense which will offset the $1200.00 we paid for the engine.

I am rejecting this response because:

This company uses false advertisement practices to attract customers, like myself, and need to be stopped. As I stated in my previous note, why to spend $1500 while the maximum AM Used Parts welling to refund is $1200 and they are aware of it?

Ordered a motor from AM used auto parts. The shop received the motor on 6-24-24. When delivered, the motor was not secured to the palate and was on its side as if it had been rolling around. Valve pan cover busted, multiple fuel injectors busted, oil dip stick broken off, oil cooler broken and several other components. These are necessary parts of motor and are not bolt on accessories. We contacted AMuap the next day and more days after. They refuse to give us a shipping return number. We never installed the motor, just want to return and get refund because they keep ignoring us. They emailed back and asked for diagnostic codes but we never used the motor.

I apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with the used engine. After reviewing the pictures you provided, we must clarify that our warranty covers only the engine block and head, and does not extend to the bolt-on accessories. We have previously sent you an email with return instructions should you choose not to keep the engine. According to the warranty agreement you signed, the engine may be returned within 30 days of receipt if you decide not to proceed with the installation. If you have any further questions or require additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I am rejecting this response because: we did not get the email for return that you are claiming in this response. We received an email asking for diagnostic codes but that made no sense because we did not use motor.  You keep stating that the warranty doesnt cover bolt on parts, but we listed internal parts that were broke during shipping.  IT IS ALSO NOW PAST THE 30 days for return because you refused to return my calls and emails. We contacted you the day after delivery.  Yes we want a refund and return but sounds like that isnt going to happen because you waited the 30 days before responding. The motor is at the shop where it was dropped off and is waiting to be picked up at :

I ordered an engine through OReilly in which ******* went through this company to get the engine. When the engine was sent, it had a hole in the oil pan and they refused to replace the engine at first. Then they decided to replace the oil pan. I spend over $5,000 on a busted engine with a hole in the oil pan. What good is it to even send something like this to a customer? People spend a few hundred on brake pads and get better brake pads but someone can spend $5000+ on something and cant even get a good engine. I sincerely hope this company goes bankrupt. Theres no place for scammers and robbers and thats exactly what they are. *** posted a few comments about them but none of them show up for some reason. Do not waist your money here. Before you buy an engine or transmission, ask the company youre using whether it be OReilly, Advance Autoparts, Autozone, and etc, which supplier are they using. If AM auto parts comes up, run. Run fast as h*** away from them. They will have you either getting the run around, on the brink of suing them, or quit possibly accepting the fact that you got a bad part and youre thousands or dollars. As you can see in the photo, someone clearly marked the hole in the oil pan. Then ***** have the nerve to tell me that its not apart of the engine. lol, are you dumb? Its clearly apart of the engine and any mechanic can tell you. If you at least call this company, speak to ****. Hes more sensible. ***** should be fired. As a veteran, ** really considering taking this to the news outlet because as someone with PTSD, this is exactly what other veterans are dealing with and its absolutely ridiculous. I went to war in 2010 and this is what we fight for. If youre a veteran, DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS.

My seventeen year old ordered a transmission under warranty from AM Used Auto Parts on April 16th and had it shipped to a premier dealership in ************ where it arrived April 25th. Her brother and the mechanics there worked after hours to put this in a 2009 **** Explorer. With a delay in installation due a 2 week vacation, the transmission was fully installed end of May but did not function. The wiring was so disfigured that the matching required multiple technicians to work on it. The head technician there for about ten years took it for a drive and confirmed the transmission was not shifting properly and making a loud thump when shifting gears. Transmission fluid and transfer case fluid where all added. Installation report was given to AM Used Auto Parts but customer was put on hold when trying to explain to the company and email was blocked so no resolution received

I purchased an engine from this company for around $4000 and they stated they had a complete and Comprehensive parts warranty. The day the engine arrived from their shipping company to my mechanic. The engine had broken away from inadequate plastic straps on a wooden pallet. The engine weighs 500 pounds. My mechanic forced their driver from their shipping company to take pictures and document the extensive damage all around the engine. I contacted the company and they gave me a very small $600 check that did not cover all of the broken parts and labor to get the engine up to running standards. After my mechanic Replaced all of the broken parts that their shipping company caused He installed the engine. It ran for 10 minutes and then blew up. This company stated they dont have the other engines to replace it with so they offered me a partial refund. They are deducting the $600 that they had paid for some broken parts on the engine that they caused. On the phone, a manager had told me that this $600 repair would not come off of the replacement cost of the engine and I have an email stating from this company that I would receive a full refund once they received the old engine back. this was not true, I just got off phone with a manager there and hes paying me $3400. Moreover, the quality of the part they sold me was less than adequate. It was covered in mud and rust. It had a rats nest under the intake manifold and looked like it came out of a swamp.

On 01/25/2024 I purchased a used engine for 2016 Kia ******* the company guaranteed that the engine would work. After installing the engine in late March it did not work, I contacted the company a few days after installing the engine. The customer service rep informed me that other items would also need to be changed to guarantee the engine worked. The other items stated was replaced with new ones, but the company was not satisfied with and asked for receipts which I no longer have. This has been going on since March with no resolve.

Good morning, I regret to hear about the challenges you've encountered with your recent purchase from us. I want to clarify that the statement regarding our refusal to accept the engine back is inaccurate. Upon receiving your engine on May 1st, you informed us on May 13th that you were dissatisfied. We promptly apologized and requested photos to better understand the issue and provide assistance. Instead of sending photos, a chargeback was initiated with your bank claiming unauthorized purchase. We have provided the signed purchase contract and proof of delivery with your signature acknowledging receipt of the engine. Should you still wish to return the engine within the 30-day window from receipt for a refund, we are more than willing to facilitate this process. Please feel free to contact us should you have any further inquiries or require assistance. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:
The facts are,.. AM Used Auto Parts are running a scam.
I received an engine that was incompatible for my vehicle.

The engine was not from their warehouse. The engine was shipped from a salvage yard in **********
AM Used Auto Parts LLC are the middle men selling products that are from a third party source. They find trash parts from all over the ************* and ship it to the unsuspecting buyer. The third party involved in shipping the items dont care because they are getting paid no matter what happens. The buyer is the victim which will pay for the original shipment and also responsible for return shipping. The seller has nothing to lose.

      in summary:

The item they shipped was  wrong unusable engine.

I requested a 2008 Lexus RX350 engine and they sent a 2005 ****** Avalon engine which is incompatible to what I needed.

The ****** Avalon engine had ******* miles.

The engine I supposed to received was an engine with ****** miles.

The shipment was almost two months late. Intentionally so the warranty period would expire.

I shipped the engine back to AM Used Auto Parts and they did not wan to receive the engine so the warranty would expire. They received the engine after the 30 days for their return policy would expire.

The person who wrote the reply to The BBB does not know the details of what really happens with my order.

Yes, they stole $1570 for an engine I cant use.

Yes, they will not refund me the shipping cost of $487 for returning the engine.

Yes they did not want to give me a return authorization for the trash they sent me.

Yes, they refused to receive the shipment of the engine I returned to them.

And yes they are crocks and the reviews on their company are fake.

Yes, I am a victim of fraud and they are running a scam.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

My engine quit working on my 2009 ***** Cobalt, so I began searching for a good used engine online. I came across AM Used Auto Parts in *****, ******* who said they had one in good condition for a decent price ($895). I talked to someone there and set it up to be shipped to my town of *******, **. I was informed that I was responsible for shipping costs, as well as having it shipped back if I was not satisfied. When the engine was delivered, my mechanic called me right away saying that the engine looked like it had been overheated, was covered in black sludge and oil, and he did not recommend installing it in my vehicle. He also tested some of the oil and found shards of metal in it. I took pictures and contacted AM Used Auto Parts to inform them that I was not satisfied. After arguing that the engine had passed all of their testing, they agreed to refund me for the engine but I would have to pay to send it back to them. I setup shipment to have it sent back, which costed me $580. I decided this would be worth the cost to be refunded the $895 I had spent on the engine. (I spent over $1700 total including shipments). When they received the engine, I was refunded for only $458.75. I sent them an email asking them to clarify and never received a response.

I purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic Engine for 2100$ I signed a warranty for a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic Engine. They sent me a 2014 ***** Cruze and my mechanic installed the engine and the engine does not work. I replaced all parts as my warranty required for a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic Engine and the engine was not compatible with my car. The engine had multiple oil leaks and theres no way it was tested. I was told I would be sent pictures of the engine before it was shipped and I didnt receive that. It was not disclosed to me that the engine was a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze engine. I called multiple times to have this resolved and have gotten the run around and told the engine was compatible for my car. Although it is not. My mechanic installed the part correctly and the engine will not turn over. I was told I needed to ship the part back in order to receive a refund after I replaced the desired parts. They did not offer to cover my shipping cost.

Thank you for bringing your concerns regarding your engine to our attention. After carefully reviewing the diagnostic information and notes you provided, it appears that the root cause of the issues lies with certain sensors within the engine system. To ensure the proper functioning of your vehicle, we strongly advise addressing these sensor issues promptly. Additionally, as stipulated by our warranty terms, it is imperative to replace any leaking gaskets and seals prior to installing the engine. Should you opt not to proceed with these necessary repairs, please be aware that returning the engine for a refund remains a viable option for you. Should you require further clarification or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.

I purchased a used engine with supposedly 80K miles listed on the engine, with a 3 year parts warranty. After 2 years 5 months the engine failed. I had initially called to activate warranty and now they claim the warranty is non-existent, unfortunately that was 2.5 years ago and I no longer have access to that email warranty, but it was signed off on initial purchase. I mean I have already dumped more than I should have in trying to get this engine resolved. I guess they do not honor their warranties as listed when purchased. Just terrible business practices...

I regret to learn that the used part failed 2.5 years after your purchase. According to our records, you returned the part in September and received a refund. Therefore, stating that we do not honor warranties is inaccurate, especially considering your refund after using the engine for 2.5 years.
