Purchasing experience was smooth. It did however take longer than expected to receive motor. And there's where the good ends. I had a reputable shop do the engine swap for me. Upon the first test drive, the motor was smoking profusely. We originally thought it was smoking due to it being on a shelf somewhere for a long period of time. The power also seem choked, and would backfire badly. I took it back to the mechanic the next day and he noticed that the motors oil was almost enpty. I know for a fact that the mechanic put new oil in it when it was installed. These two symptoms were issues that AM Used Autoparts claim to have checked for before shipping the motor. That obviously did not happen. When I brought this situation up to AM, I was told to submit a video, which my mechanic did. Then was told to ship the motor back and once received, I would be refunded the cost of the motor. I requested that the cost of labor ($1,100) also be refunded due to the special circumstances of not being able to drive the car from installation. Its only fair that AM refunds the cost of the motor AND cost of labor. I will have to pay my mechanic installation fees AGAIN once another motor is procured.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I understand that the motor is under warranty. I will be returning it. My issue is that I was sent s non-working motor in the first place. It was NOT tested in advance as claimed by AM. I spent $1,100 to have the original motor swap done. Now, because the motor I was sent was bad, I will have to spend ANOTHER $1,100 to swap my original motor that has been rebuilt. I don't feel that I should be responsible to pay the 2nd motor swap due to being sent a motor that was bad. AM should not only warranty the motor, but ALSO pay to have the 2nd motor swap done. It's due to AM sending a bad motor in the beginning, or I wouldn't have to *********** again.
Sincerely,

I was not able to reply to the message that you sent me regarding the closing of my complaint. AE's responce, advising that they are sorry that the "engine went bad" and that I can submit for warranty coverage. My issue is that AE claims to have tested all motors prior to shipment ( which is printed on ad thay I provided). The motor was bad upon receipt. Therefore proving that the motor had NOT been tested prior to shipment. When I originally received the motor, I had to pay $1,100 to swap the motors. Because the motor was already bad when I received it, I will now have to spend another $1,100 unnecessarily to re-swap the motors. I am requesting that AE not only warranty and refund original purchase price, but ALSO pay for the second motor swap cost of $1,100 because if they would have pre-tested the motor prior to shipment as promised, they wouldn't have sent that motor which was bad in the first place, and I wouldn't have to spend that additional $1,100 to re-swap the motor. AE owes me $1,999.00 ($899 for motor and $1,100 for second motor swap)Business Response

We are very sorry to hear you are upset, all engines are ran tested and checked prior to being pulled, however these are used engines and anything can happen at any giving time. We see that this engine was purchased in June of 2022. You are under warranty and once a claim is filed we can issue a refund once product is returned. Our warranty clearly states we do not cover labor and just a parts warranty. " Three (3) year parts only limited warranty. No labor warranty. This limited warranty is for a term length of three years from the date of delivery to customer." Hope this answers your question.

I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,I am well aware of the three (3) year parts warranty that's offered. And I am goong to be returning the engine. My complaint is that is the engine was actually run tested prior to shipment, you would have not shipped it because the engine was bad. I am not asking for AE to pay for both engine swaps, I am asking that AE reimburse me for only one (1) of the engine swaps. I can not afford to pay the second engine swaps at the moment and will be returning the bad engine to AE. I am asking thay AE do the right thing and pay for the second engine swap.

AM Used Auto Parts ************************************************************************* ************** I purchased from salesman *********************** at {a price of $1599.00} an engine (2008 ****** Titan 5.6 B type) from ***** on 09/26/2022, the engine arrived on 10/12/2022 in horrific shape. Cylinders 2 & 4 were fill of water, the oil pan was not there, and the motor receptors on the driver were buster. The holes were broken/cracked as to not allowing the engine to be properly fastened. A 3-year warranty accompanied the engine; well upon complaining and substantiating my complaint. Mr. ************************* of the warranty department offered to refund my monies, but refused to send a Return Merchandise Authorization or pay to return the engine. Now, I checked with the same delivery company () and the price for shipping the engine by me to ***** is $900.00. Surely one can see the predicament caused by their refusal to send an RMA. Especially when everyone can see the company was well aware of this infraction. The s**** is a death give away. NO IT WASNT DAMAGED IN TRANSIT!Business Response

We are very to hear you are not happy with the engine. Let me address some of your concerns. The engine do get washed and some water will go in where the plug is but the spark plug in the engine will stop it from going down. We wash all engines before they leave and have been doing so for the past 12 years. Also you stated that the oil pan is missing but from the pics you have submitted you can clearly see that the oil pan is on the engine. If you do not want the engine you can ship back for a refund, you can use carriers like Blue ****** unishipper, YRC, Freight Quote. These companies have rates in the *******. Once engine is retunred we will inspect and issue a refund. Part must be returned with in 30 days of receiving. These are used engines and will have some ware and tare but are working engines.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: The will secure adequately! As the pictures reflect, the s**** holes are busted. Further more, ***** could easily determine this from their quality control inspection. That s**** in the engine block was clearly there when ***** shipped it. There is no way that I should be responsible for return shipping!

On August 12,2022, I purchased a used engine from AM Used Auto Parts for my 2006 **** F-150 5.4 L Automatic 4x2 truck. Salesman ********************************* processed the transaction and multiple times gave me assurances that the engine came with a full warranty and was in proper working condition. He even went as far as saying that the engine was tested and in good working order which obviously was not true. The salesman claimed that the engine they sold me had approximately ****** miles on it but my mechanic estimates that this engine had well in excess of ******* miles. I paid $2,471.43 for the engine and $2,420.00 for installation and attempted repair. I am now also incurring enormous rental charges for a vehicle because their engine did not work.Business Response

We apologize that you are having issues with your engine. When we spoke over the phone we explained that we can send you out a timing chain kit or the engine could be returned for a full refund. Again we apologize for this, these are used engines and anything can happen at any giving time. The engine that was purchased does come with a warranty and we are giving you options. Please let us know what you would like to do. Thanks.

On about May 10th, I began looking for a transmission to my car and after looking for a day or two, I came across AM Used Auto Parts. I gave them a call, and I spoke with *************************. I explained to him the issue with my car and what type of transmission I needed. He told me that he had just what I was looking for and that the transmission only had about 30 miles on it. I wanted to know why the milage was so low and he told me that it was from a car similar to mine that had been wrecked when it was new. He said that that was the transmission that he was going to send me. I told him to make sure that the transmission was good because I was on a fixed income and I did not have a lot of money. He told me not to worry about it and that he would take care of me. He told me it would be $1999. The purchase was authorized in May 11th, 2022 and the transaction was made on May 12th, 2022. The transmission was sent to me and arrived on May 25th, 2022. It arrived at ****** auto repair located in *********, **. They looked over the transmission and put it in my car, but when they took it on a test drive, they found out that the 3rd gear of the transmission had a glitch in it-in other words the transmission was no good. We got in touch with **************** and explained what was going on. He said he would put in a claim for me so that I could be compensated for the transmission. They then told me to speak with the claim office. They told me that I had to have the transmission taken back out of the car and sent it back to them. That would cost me about another $1,500. They said that was the only way they could assist me. I explained before that I was on a fixed income and could not afford to pay any extra money. I feel as though I should not have to spend any extra money to be compensated. I have been trying to get them to help me ever since. I haven't gotten no help in return. Please help me. I am an elderly person, and I need my car to get to my doctors appointments and more.Business Response

I purchased a motor from AM Auto Parts (AM) for my son's car on 07/05/2022. The AM Auto Parts order reference is *******, and the purchase amount (paid in full) was $1,199.00. The motor shipped to our designated auto repair shop (************** in *************, ** *****) on or about 7/27/22. The auto shop inspected the motor and found that damage had occurred during shipping and notified AM Auto Parts and the shipper. My son was told to contact the shipping company for a refund and after several tries has been unsuccessful in making any progress.Business Response

Sorry to hear that the carrier has not resolved this issue. I have attached the *** and video of the engine when it left, please resubmit to the carrier so they can pick this up and return to us. Once returned we will fully refund you.Customer Answer

AM Used Auto Parts sold me a refurbished engine that was damaged during shipping. I was told by AM that I needed to file a complaint with the shipping company which I did. After several months, the shipping company ruled that the engine was not secured properly by AM Used Auto Parts and the damage was attributable to them. AM Used Auto Parts stated that it was my responsibility (and burden of cost) to ship it back to them for their evaluation and consideration. The motor was damaged in transit and documented at time of delivery. AM Used Auto Parts refuses to refund the purchase price.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Nobody could be expected to house a damaged motor for more than 8 months why the vendor played these "warranty" games. ********* has been disposed of. The auto mechanic could not keep the damaged goods at his business for this long. The vendor shipped it incorrectly and their beef is with the shipping company - not me. They can argue about who is at fault. Photo documentation and written documentation was provided to the vendor and the shipping company. I just want my money back. The shipping company denied my claim that it was their fault. I'm done. Have the vendor do the right thing....
Sincerely,
