I, ******* ******, l paid AM Used Auto Parts $1,650 for a 2005 ******** Escalade ESV Engine with a 3-year warranty on 09/16/2024. I spent over $400 to replace specific parts (that cannot be reused) the warranty contract insisted upon for it to be upheld. I spent $2,107 for a very reputable mechanic to install this engine only to get a call to come see for myself that it was knocking. The warranty from AM Used Auto Parts does state they will not be reliable for any labor costs. Directly below that statement it also reads their engines are ran-tested not to smoke, tap, or knock. I sent them all the necessary proof of receipts and videos of markings and knocking they required, and they of course wanted the engine shipped back just to confirm my predicament. When in contact with them I quickly made sure I would not be paying for shipping the engine back to them and they assured me I would not be. $800 later I had the mechanic take out the bad engine and emailed AM Used Auto Parts asking if I had to pay for it and would be reimbursed for the shipping. The representive confirmed I had to pay and would be reimbursed. I asked for them to send a **** of Laden for the freight carrier they use that is unrelated to the AM Used Auto Parts company. I was ignored but instead advised I need to do get it shipped quickly. I decided to just use the payment on delivery option on the *** that I found on the carrier's website and printed. When the shipment arrived, it was denied. When I called AM they stated I should have acquired a *** from them before shipping so the payment would be connected to their business account and quickly started processing my engine refund but told me to call the carrier to "abandon freight" and swallow another $1800 (or more because the engine is still moving). If they cannot do right and reimburse me in some other way. I will be getting a lawyer. This is a soft step in that direction.Business Response

I paid amuap ****** for a transmission that I was told worked. After my mechanic (****** automotive) installed the transmission they found the transmission was no good. I discussed this with amuap then decided to get a refund on the bad transmission. I requested to also receive the amount of ******** in labor charges that I'm being charged to install, and remove the bad transmission, this also includes a new transmission filter, and fluid that was purchased for an unknown bad transmission. They informed me since I didn't get an upgraded warranty that I wouldn't get payment. I was never notified of any type of upgraded warranty that covers labor. Every other company I've spoke with has told me about the labor warranty. All I'm asking for is the ******** in labor fees, which includes transmission fluid, and new filter.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: there was no notification of any kind of needing an extended warranty. My next step will be to contact my attorney, and file legal proceedings agaist them, which in that case there will be lawyer fees, court fees, and hardship fees. Since the transmission was bad they falsified the fact that it was tested before shipping. If they had of tested it, they would have known it was a bad transmission.

I am rejecting this response because: the part was not tested to ensure that it worked. If it was tested, then amuap should have known it was a faulty part, and in turn should never have sold it. This tells me they never tested the part in the first place, or they would have known this, and I wouldn't have spent money on a bad part. I have no choice but to contact my attorney and file suit for falsely selling good parts.

I was quoted a used transmission for a 2007 **** Edge with 65K miles at a price of $799, including shipping. I ordered and paid for the unit on Sept. 30, 2024. The transmission delivered to the mechanic the week of October 21. When the mechanic unwrapped the unit for installation, the identification tag states the condition as 203K. In both mine and my mechanics experience, this indicates the transmission has 203K miles. I contacted AM Used Auto Parts, and was told that was a damage code for rear collision. I asked for the *** of the alleged donor vehicle. My investigation revealed the donor was declared a total loss for mechanical reasons, not a rear collision.I requested either the transmission be replaced with the 65K mile unit I paid for, or they could arrange for pick-up and issue a full refund. I was told I could return it for a full refund within 30 days. I asked for an *** and they pay the shipping, since this is clearly not what I was quoted and paid for. Return shipping at my cost is approximately $200.Business Response

Good Morning, customer called in and had concerns with the mileage on the transmission he received. We emailed him the vin number from the vehicle the transmission was pulled from. With that vin number he can pull up the information he is looking for. Customer was also sent return instructions if he does not want to keep. If you have anymore questions please feel free to reach out. Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:The tag attached to the transmission clearly states the condition as 203K, and that is not what I was quoted and purchased. I have no way to correlate the *** from a vehicle to the transmission - I can only go by the condition tag. This is clearly not the transmission from a vehicle with 65K miles, or it would have been tagged as such.
I will return the transmission under an RMA with AM Used Auto Parts responsible for return shipping. It is ready for pick up.

Complaint: 22534250
I am rejecting this response because:I have been in the auto industry for over 30 years. My family has owned multiple dealerships, and we are very familiar with how this business works. We know how total loss insurance declarations are settled, how the auction process is carried out, and are quite familiar with ******. When the condition came into question, I called AM Used Auto Parts and was transferred to their claims department. I expressed my concerns over the condition statement of 203K, and was emailed back that this was not the condition but a damage code indicating rear collision. Once I was provided the **** I began my research and found the bid history documentation with photos. The *** they claim this transmission came from did not have collision damage, and was declared a total loss for mechanical reasons. Furthermore, used parts such as this are typically classified as grade A, B, or C. Since the tag clearly states 203K, that would indicate this transmission came from a donor vehicle with 203K miles. My mechanic has inspected the transmission and is in agreement this unit is a grade C part with likely more than 200K miles. Half of the CV axle shaft is stuck in the transmission and will likely damage internal components and seals if forcibly removed.
This transmission is not what I was quoted and purchased. I will return the unit for a full refund once AM Used Auto Parts issues an *** declaring they will be responsible for return shipping costs in addition to the original $799 purchase price.
Sincerely,

On April 17, 2024, I received a quote from AM Used Auto Parts, provided by ****** ******, for a 2013 ****** Prius V 1.8L Automatic 4x2 engine with ****** miles. The quoted price was $1,695, including shipping to my business address and a 3-year limited parts-only warranty. The quote appeared professional, and AM Used Auto Parts advertised best prices for quality used auto parts! Guaranteed. After receiving reassurances about the warranty, I placed the order with confidence. The engine arrived nearly a month later, with an unexpected $100 delivery fee, despite shipping being included. I took the engine to a certified mechanic for installation, following all guidelines provided by AM Used Auto Parts. Upon starting the engine, several issues arose:The oil was thick, black, and sludge-like.The engine appeared much older than the one it was ************ car with only ****** miles would display such extensive wear. This engine was in worse condition than my original engine. The actual mileage likely exceeds ******* miles, contrary to their claim. When I reached out to AM Used Auto Parts, they asked for photos and installation receipts, which I provided. Now they are demanding I remove and return the engine at my own expense, adding labor and shipping costs to an unusable, misrepresented engine.I am out over $5,000 due to this transaction, and the warranty has proven ineffective. AM Used Auto Parts has shown no genuine effort to address this fraudulent sale. I am seeking a full refund and expect prompt action to resolve this issue.Business Response

Felawn, thank you for your feedback. While we value customer input, I must address inaccuracies in your review and clarify our position regarding your situation. Two months ago, you reported an issue with a damaged timing chain, and we promptly issued a refund of $225 to assist you. However, it appears that you did not proceed with the necessary repairs to the timing chain, which has led to further complications. Our warranty policy clearly states that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure all required parts are replaced during installation to prevent future issues. Additionally, we have responded to every one of your emails, including approving an additional refund of $97.49 to support you. Despite our ongoing communication and willingness to help, the issues youre facing seem to stem from a failure to complete the necessary repairs outlined in our warranty terms. We stand firmly by our warranty policy, which specifies that we are not liable for any additional costs incurred due to incomplete maintenance or repairs. We encourage you to review these terms, as they clearly outline your responsibilities as the customer. If you have any further questions or need clarification, please reach out to me directly at ************. While we are here to assist you, we must also uphold our warranty terms.
