Before making a purchase I spoke with Salesman ***** multiple times to let him know what I was looking for and what shape it needed to be in. He assured me I would be happy and I asked if I could see pictures before my purchase and he said it wasn't possible. So I purchased a 2006 ****** Engine with ***** miles on it. Paid on Feb 12th. Received it on Feb 26th. The mechanic looked it over and advised us not to use. It appeared to have come out of a flooded vehicle. I later found out it came from ************* with lots of snowy weather. Therefore all the rust most likely was from salt. Our mechanic had another certified mechanic inspect and he to advised do not use. I initiated a claim and it was approved but shipping would cost me. I paid ****** to ship and they received on March 7th. I was told by ****** that accounting would issue refund in 1 to 3 days. It is now March 20th and still no refund. I have tried to call and no answer and cannot leave message because mailbox is full. I send an email and the response is always the same and that is to expect refund in 1 to 3 days. This company mislead me in my opinion. I thought the Engine was coming from their warehouse in *******. They did not help explain how to do return shipping...I had never shipped something so large! ****** told me "use common sense". I called the place it actually came from and they were very helpful with info and also told me about the truck it came out of and that they did supply AM Auto pictures! The pictures they would not allow me to see. I would like my refund and would like to warn consumers to please don't go by the reviews on their site!

I am rejecting this response because:

I have confirmation that it was delivered March 7th.

After filing complaint with BBB is when i was told a refund was issued via check.  Their initial response about a refund said it would show up in my account in 1 to 3 days.   That left me to believe it would be deposited back into my debit account. I am assuming it will be a full refund because I was never told, but based on other complaints from other consumers, they have been charged a 25% restocking fee.  If that is the case, the check will not be cashed and I will be pursuing further action.

Based on all reviews this "Family owned business" should not be in business.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******

I ordered a 5.7 liter engine for my '93 GMC ******* I asked to see pictures before I agreed to purchase it. They sent the pictures, I agreed. $1050 for engine $250 for delivery. $1,300 they sent a different engine swearing it's the same one and refusing to pick it up. They said if I agree to pay to ship it back they will not refund my original $250 delivery fee and buy they won't charge me the 25% restocking fee. Their terms say if they ship the wrong part they are responsible to either exchange at their cost or pick it up and repay the full amount. They're claiming it's the same motor so they won't have to do that. I have pictures of what they promised and I agreed to buy and I have pictures of what they sent. Clearly not the same engine! I offered to return it to them at my cost in exchange for my full refund of $1,300 they refused. I've been reading the reviews about this company apparently they have a habit of doing this and some people have actually complained to the Better Business Bureau and have gotten results. I think my offer was more than reasonable but they are clearly trying to rip me off. As mentioned above I have all the pictures and the emails and a screenshot of there terms. I hope you can help me. I despise liars and thieves and this company is clearly running a scam!

We are sorry to hear of an issue encountered with an engine you had purchased. We do not carry engines, and this order does not appear to have been placed through use. We are AM Autoparts and from the screenshots provided, we can see you had ordered from AM Used Auto Parts. We would suggest reaching out to them directly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We apologize for any dissatisfaction with the used 1993 GMC ****** engine you purchased. Please note that our warranty covers performance rather than cosmetic appearance. Prior to removal, the engine was thoroughly tested and confirmed to be in good working condition. However, if you are not satisfied with the purchase, you may return the engine within 30 days of delivery. Thank you for your understanding.

Although the warranty says if I make a mistake when ordering it would cost me to return it but this was not my fault it was yours and I don't feel this should cost me any money. As we discussed (see attached) I agreed to hire a truck on my own and bring the motor back Tampa but want my full refund of $1,300.00. I do not feel I should be charged $250.00.

I purchased an engine from ***** for $1495 and purchased a 5yr parts and labor warranty for an additional $489. I received the engine on 12/20/24 and then was fully installed on 1-16-25. It needed to be installed within 30 days of receipt for the warranty to be activated. On 2-13-25 the vehicle engine failed, and per the repair shop needed to be replaced. at that time it had approximately 800 miles on the engine that was install. I contacted *****'s and sent them emails from the repair shop, the invoice of the initial install and an additional information they needed to get a replacement engine installed. This is where the nightmare started. They sent me a different contract that I didn't sign regarding the warranty and told me to contact ************************ and they would take care of the claim. So, I contacted them and they said the claim is in pending status and I would need to contact AMUAP and process the claim. I called back ***** and they said an email is being sent out regarding the claim. I contacted ************************ back they told me the contract now has been voided and I needed to call back AMUAP. I called AMUAP back and now they told me I needed to pay for the removal of the engine and ship it back to them at my cost so they could look it over. I asked them that I paid for a 5yr parts and labor warranty but there saying it only reimburses for install and not removal. However, in the contract that I signed specifically states ***** pays for return shipping on failed parts within ******************************** "GOOD FAITH", they are selling an engine to a customer in which I have my initials on that states the warranty stipulations but when you try to make a claim, they show me a different contract that I didn't sign and state this is really what my warranty is. They are selling Product A on the paperwork but when you make a claim, they state you bought Product B.

Once engine is returned we will inspect and refund you for the engine cost and labor. Thanks

I sent them pictures of the engine two weeks ago.  Also the charades of ask me to remove the engine and ship it back to them at my cost is the paperwork I didnt sign.  It clearly states on page 6 of the document I signed that they pay shipping for parts failed within 30 days of installation.  Also the document I signed doesnt state a max for parts and labor.  They are asking me to pay for the removal of the engine and ship it back at my cost.  No where in the document I signed states any of the actions hes referring too.  When I initiated the claim thats when they sent me this other warranty document I didnt sign.  Its not even dated the day I purchased my engine on November 27. I do Not recognize a document I didnt sign.

I purchased a 2009 transmission for a ***** Malibu for $895 on February 8, 2025 from AM Use auto parts. In *****, *******, but the part come from ************ out of state it arrived on February 13, 2025 from the carrier That was delivered to the mechanic shop only for it to be the wrong part AN auto parts is no longer communicating. Theyre not answering the phone. They was quick to get my $895 for now. Theyre not even picking up the phone for me. I notify them the same immediately at that and let them know that it was the wrong part. They refused to give me a refund and refused to fix the situation. They telling me that I have to send $410 to get the part shipped back to them when I spent $895 for part that dont even fit my car, the mechanic never took the transmission off. The pallet is bolted and wrapped to the pallet. We havent touched it when the mechanic looked at it. He notified the carrier that this is not the right part that he ordered, but the carrier insisted that we have to get it off his truck because hes just a driver , so I notify A&M auto parts immediately and let them know that the part that the driver just dropped off is not the right part is not the correct transmission so now theyre saying that is not their fault. Theyre not trying to fix the situation at all. all I want is my money back. Im trying to give them the part back the same day, which is today February 13, 2025 they just do bad business, theyre not communicating and I just need my money back to buy another transmission because apparently thats not the right one. All I want is my refund my money back the 895 that I spent on that transmission that transmission is very big and it dont even seem like it came out of a small car. It looked like it came out of a truck because its two times bigger than my transmission and I have a 2009 ***** Malibu , a very small transmission. I just need to be reimbursed my $895 that I spent on a transmission that cant be used in my car.

I purchased a used Auto engine from this business. The engine was installed. The engine had 1 check engine code. My mechanic consulted with the company tech about rectifying that problem. My mechanic tried what the tech recommended. That didn't work and 7 more codes came up. I returned the engine for a refund. I received a refund check minus a 25% restocking fee. I called them to explain that the engine was bad and that I shouldn't have to pay a restocking fee. There was never a mention of a restocking fee under any circumstances. They responded by saying the engine was inspected and nothing was wrong. They also said the engine going back into stock resale. They are implying that I returned the engine just because I didn't want it. I returned the engine because it was defective! I'm already out of a lot of money. I had to pay for the removal of the original engine and the installation of the used engine. Then I had to pay for the removal of the used engine and pay the shipping fee for the return of the used engine. To charge me a restocking fee is an insult to injury!Requesting a ****** restocking fee refund

      Business Response

The engine codes provided were a result of improper installation, as all the issues reported were related to electrical malfunctions within the vehicle. The engine itself is a Grade A component that was thoroughly tested and ran prior to being removed from its original vehicle.

I purchased an engine that was supposed to include an oil pan. I was quoted $4299.00. I paid $500 extra to recieve turbos with the engine and was billed $4799.00. When the engine arrived, there were two issues that *** attempted to resolve with the company. 1. The engine did not have turbos. The company has acknowledged they didnt send the turbos, but are claiming they quoted $200, and refuse to reimburse me the purchase price of $500.2. There was a very large obvious hole in the oil pan. The engine comes with an oil pan. Since the oil pan is broken beyond repair, it doesn't have an oil pan. The company is refusing to accept responsibility by claiming the oil pan isnt covered under warranty. The issue isn't that the oil pan failed, it's that it was broken when it arrived.Ive attempted to give the seller an opportunity to make this right without outside mediation, but they have attempted to make me settle the matter for $200.I'm requesting the seller refund the full purchase price of the turbos $500 and the cost of the replacement oil pan i had to buy $904.75.

      Complaint: 22875504

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

I contacted AM Used Auto Parts regarding the damaged part and requested a reimbursement for the cost of the oil pan. They refused, stating that their warranty does not cover oil pans.  However, my argument is not based on a warranty claim, but rather on the condition of the part at the time of purchase.
I contend that the oil pan was either already broken when they shipped it to me and they failed to disclose this damage, or they damaged the oil pan after I had paid for the engine, thus damaging my property.  In either scenario, they are responsible for the cost of replacing the damaged oil pan.
I was not informed of any pre-existing damage to the oil pan at the time of purchase.  Had I known the oil pan was broken, I would not have purchased the engine. It is unreasonable to expect a customer to accept a part that is already damaged.
I am requesting the Better Business Bureau's assistance in resolving this matter. I believe AM Used Auto Parts should be held responsible for the cost of the broken oil pan, which is $904.75.  I am seeking a full reimbursement for this amount.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

I ordered a used transmission from AM Used Auto Parts for $1000. I was sent a transmission with a damaged shift selector shaft and dirt and debris inside the transmission rendering it useless. I asked for them to send a truck to pick up the transmission and refund me or find another one that is functional. They could not find another one. At first they said I was responsible for return shipping. After explaining the situation and sending pictures they said they would send a bill of landing to have it picked up. I repeatedly reached out but they kept saying they need to reach out to the warehouse. It has been nearly 3 months and they are not responding.

Good afternoon. Im sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the used transmission you received for your 1999 Dodge Caravan. Based on our records, it appears that the primary concern was the appearance of the transmission. As a reminder, return instructions were provided to you three months ago, and we have yet to receive the part back. Once the transmission is returned to us, we will promptly issue a refund.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with the return process, please dont hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have asked for documentation from AM Used Auto Parts regarding the condition of this engine. They have not provided that documentation. It is my belief that this engine was in fact not run for 45 minutes and there was not a thorough inspection of the engine before shipment. There are clearly ***** and rust occurring inside the engine cylinders. They sent me a "JUNK" engine, not a "Quality Used Engine" as they claim on their website.

AM Used Auto Parts asked me to get a second opinion from another mechanic regarding the condition of this engine. I have in fact gotten 2 additional mechanics to verify that this engine is "Junk" and not a "Quality Used Engine" as they claim on their website.
