We apologize for you being upset. Looks like you received the engine 4 months ago. Engine ran fine according to your mechanic and then the engine locked up. After reviewing the diagnostic looks like the engine was ran with out oil which will cause it to lock up. We are still willing to take the engine back for a refund. Returning the engine would be the customers responsibility. This could of been avoided if the engine had oil. We apologize for the inconvenience.

On 6/7/2023 i purchased a engine from AM Used Auto Parts **** ****** ** 33547.I was not satisfied with the engine when it arrived. Rusted block broken bolts in the manifold and broken bolt hole for the transmission. I took it to shop the mechanic noticed trash and debris inside of the valley pan .He also stated that the timing guides was broken. I called them up and explained to them the issues.Me.********************* offers to send replacement timing guides. There is extra labor to install the guides and fix the broken bolts. The engine suppose to have 72k and 3 year warranty. I understand that. But I paid $2395 for a working motor .I shouldn't have to do repairs prior to installing the engine. It makes no common sense to just replace the guides .The guides broke for a reason. After speaking back with ************* he told me to send it back at my own expense. R and L carrier quoted $770 for shipping. I drove to ** which is 8hrs away and returned it myself. I received a check for $1616 after they charged 20% restocking fee of $4 79 and charged me $300 for shipping fee..I do have pictures of the engine they sent by a third party. Clearly this engine looks like it had been sitting out in a field .There is no way it should have been shipped and The salesman surely wouldn't install it in his truck.************************* is the sales representative...All I am asking is to be fair and put themselves in my position as a frustrated customer knowing that $2395 was spend on junk. Please assist in resolving this issue .

Good Morning, sorry to hear you are upset about the used engine you received. The timing chain is a component that has to be replaced per our warranty. We offered you a brand new timing chain kit to help with the issue but you declined. Per our warranty unwanted parts have a restocking fee and shipping fee. Hope this helps answer any questions you had. Thanks

I purchased an engine from AM used auto parts. It was delivered and the pallet it was on was broken all to pieces, with only one PLASTIC band that was used to secure it to what looked liked 2 pieces of a pallet, I refused receipt of this due to the condition of this, took a lot of pictures and emailed them to AM, once they received the engine back they decided nothing was wrong with it and charged me the 20% restocking fee and $300, I finally got to talk to someone in the claims department, after a few weeks due to my work schedule, the guy was very condescending, kept saying they sell USED PART, NOT FOR LOOKS, all I was trying to tell them is that they need to get their people to do a better job of preparing items like an engine for shipment, the guy was very rude and just kept on we sell USED PARTS, the engine they sent me should have never been pulled and sent, anybody in their right mind would not have accepted this engine in the condition it was, they know they have you when you sign the paperwork, they are going to get money either way, and they probably count on some part getting returned, this is not how a company that claims to be reputable should treat customers, if they had done the right thing I may have ordered another engine from them, my advice to anyone considering them would be don't

Hello, we appologize that you did not have a good experience with us. After reviewing your file you refused the engine that was delivered. You claimed the engine was damaged. We had the engine returned to us, engine was inspected and the engine had to no damaged. A video was emailed to you showing you the engine was not damaged. You confirmed video was received.  It cost money to test engines and to transport them from one state to another that's why you were charged a  restocking fee and shipping charges. If engine was really damaged you would of been refunded in full like we have done in the past for other customers. Hope this answers any questions or concerns you had.

I am rejecting this response because: I never once in any of my correspondence said the engine was "bad".  I have only stated that the way it was prepared for shipping was not adequate for an item like an engine.  Yes, I receive a video of someone turning the engine by hand, in this video there was a pallet shown that was positioned below the engine.  This pallet or one like it would have been more than adequate to strap an engine onto.   I have attached the pictures I sent of the engine and pallet in the condition it arrived at my house. If you look at the pictures, it is clear that the engine is almost completely off the broken-up pallet.  I don't know anyone or any shop that would have accepted an engine arriving in this kind of condition.  My whole issue is about the preparation for shipping and the fact that the customer should not be held liable for issues like this.  This is very bad business practice.

      Sincerely,

We purchased an engine from this company and had it drop shipped to our service center. We paid $5350 and was expecting what we were told, a complete engine. When it arrived, the valve cover was cracked, and as it was installed, several other pieces were damaged. Once installed, the engine was filled with oil which immediately poured out the bottom. The oil pan below was removed and only lightly bolted back on. So all that had to be replaced as well. Typically the engine should have come with notes if other pieces needed to be replaced but we received nothing. This led me to incur $1100 more in expenses in having an incomplete engine installed. We feel the engine that was advertised as complete and ready to install was completely misrepresented,

I am rejecting this response because:
They informed me that they broke the valve cover PRIOR to shipping.  I asked about a resolution and I was refunded $150.  This had nothing to do with being told that the engine was tried and in working order when it shipped when it obviously wasnt.  Had the engine had been in working order like they guarantee, I would not have incurred so much extra cost correcting their lies about the engine.

My wife and I purchased an engine from AM Auto Parts and had the engine installed by an auto body shop locally. We didnt even have the car back 30 days before having to put back in shop, company is refusing to honor 3yr warranty. We sent in all requested documentation along with pics and video. All to be emailed that someone either removed or melted off and stated either way its been tapered, so your warranty is voided that email was sent on may 30,2023 Then he turned around and sent another email on June 5,2023 (5 days after he says warranty is going to be covered) asking for additional info Im not sure why I will attach both emails as well. So we went back and reread the warranty and it states nothing about a heat tab voids warranty. ***** for AM is very unprofessional he told us good luck motherfuc****.So we have paid almost $5000 altogether with engine install and purchasing engine. We need our car on the road. I wish we had read the reviews before purchasing, its a nightmare We also have a video of the compression test the mechanic perform via the request of ***** from AM Auto parts please help us! We do plan on filing a small claims of you all cant help us resolve this. We also tried to email to possibly speak to someone with better customer service and respect but we received no reply Ive attached that as well.

Hello sorry to hear the used engine you purchased and received on March 3, 2023 went out. After reviewing your file it looks like you filed a claim with ** May 22nd it was determined the engine was over heated. The pictures of the engine heat tab indicates the engines operating temperature reaches or exceeds 250 F the center of the Heat Tab will melt and flow out. This is a positive and certified method of determining whether the engine has reached a temperature beyond the normal operating range, thus voiding the warranty. This under our terms and conditions of our warranty:

Engine Warranty is voided if the following occurs:

      Run Engine without oil
Overheat the engine (Blow the Head gasket)
Not replacing any of the above requirements
Removing head from engine / tampering with engine

I am rejecting this response because: There is no where  in the warranty that mention anything to do with heat tabs. Also, you mention the engine was running hot but that is incorrect d/t the video that was sent to you all with the compression test readings . As well as you keep mention these heat tabs that were supposedly put in the engine that we were not informed of via any paperwork that we received as well as our mechanic never seen these as well. So this is a bit of a problem most warranty we have read state different things about heat tabs being included in warranty but our particular warranty doesnt stay anything of the nature. We barely drove the car once we got it back maybe ***** miles if that, we would like our warranty honored or our money back this is extremely unfair to us.

      Sincerely,

So the heat tabs lets us know if the engine has been over heated. From the pictures you guys provided of the heat tab it shows the engine was ran hot for a long period of time which causes to blow a head gasket.

      Our warranty states the following: ***********************************;

Engine Warranty is voided if the following occurs:
      Run Engine without oil
Overheat the engine (Blow the Head gasket)
Not replacing any of the above requirements

We told him to send ** pictures and also his vin number. After running his vin number it shows that the customer needs a transmission for a 2014 ****** Altima 2.5 Liter. Purchased a low mileage transmission for a 2014 Dodge Grand caravan transmission was sold to me as having ****** mi on it they told me it was coming from ***** I'd get it in 2 weeks or less when I received the transmission it came from ********. After doing the requested service that they require and seal changes in fluid change and installing it in the vehicle the transmission did not work properly. Upon having it checked with the transmission shop the installation shop everybody's professional opinion I was told to transmission most likely has over ******* miles on it and not $****** as it was sold to me. Soon as I notified them they want to do a warranty claim and replace it with another junk transmission The problem isn't a warranty claim it's a fraud claim they sold me a $****** mi transmission but shipped and supplied me with a typical junkyard transmission a high mileage junkyard transmission. After searching the reviews I noticed that they have 150 complaints with the better Business bureau and thousands of other complaints with on satisfied customers these people are a scam. I originally found these people or they found me because I went online and requested a quote for a remanufactured transmission and they called me and said hey we got a better deal for you than a remanufactured transmission this is a transmission shop but we have a deal we can give you a $****** mi transmission for $15.95 with a 3-year warranty I said wow that would be fantastic. These people are extremely on reputable

On 06/01/2023 customer called stating that the transmission was installed and giving them issues. We apologize and asked for installation receipts along with the receipt showing transmission was re flashed by the dealer. Up to now we have not received any installation receipts. Customer received a low mileage transmission that was tested and comes with a 3 year warranty. Once they send over what is required to file a claim we can help them file a claim. Thanks

On Nov. 21, 2022, I purchased a used engine for $3650 from AM Used Auto Parts (*****) for my 2011 Dodge Ram Truck. Their engine was advertised on-line as having 41k miles and a 3 yr warranty. We received the engine at *****'s Auto repair shop in ****, **. The repair shop installed the engine and the engine rattled and banged and was obviously bad. I contacted AM Auto and they requested documentation defining the issues, etc. *****'s Auto sent ***** the required documents including a video of the engine running and banging. ***** also requested photos of their ID number, which *****'s auto supplied to them. After several discussions/emails with ***** representative, ********************* , he requested we return ship the engine to them and they will issue a refund. I paid XPO to ship the engine back to ***** and they received it about a week later. ***** then stalled on issuing my refund. I emailed and called several times, but each time I was given an excuse that finance is taking their time, etc. As of the date of this complaint, I have not received a refund from *****. I have spent over $6k from the purchase price of the engine, from the ***** required replacement gaskets, liquids, etc., from the labor to install then remove the ***** engine and return it to them. I had *****'s Auto repair purchase an engine locally and had them install it. In total I have almost $11.5k invested for the engine replacement in my truck. We've complied to all of the ***** requests and all I desire is a refund of the purchase price I paid to ***** for their bad engine.

      Business Response

Hello ******, sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the engine purchased. When this claim was first opened in Jan 5th, you emailed ** video of the engine making a tapping noise. We received receipts from you and authorize the return shipping.  When the engine was returned 05/08, we removed the oil pan to inspect there was a piston laying in pieces in the oil pan. Now a engine can not run with a broken piston. We have tried calling to get answers and have not heard back. Please ask your mechanic how that engine was running in the vehicle like that.

      Complaint: 20176255

I am rejecting this response because:I spoke with *****'s Auto repair and they confirmed the piston broke shortly after installing and starting the engine. They started the engine 3 times. The first time the engine started, it sounded as if there was something broken internally. They shut the engine off and restarted it to record the video, which they shared with ***** and myself. They started the engine a third time to move the truck out of the bay because it was obvious the engine had issues and was no good. When they attempted to drive the truck out of the building, the engine stopped and would not restart. After contacting ***** about the bad engine and providing the video and the engine data they asked for, they said we would need to return the engine to them for a refund. After pulling the ***** engine back out of the truck, *****'s Auto removed the replacement parts they had purchased for the engine. Upon removing the oil pan they also discovered the piston pieces. They gathered the pieces and put them in a small disc brake box which was also shipped back to ***** with the bad engine. It is obvious the engine was bad from the moment it was started. The video shows the ***** engine running and you can hear something was horribly wrong with it. The engine ***** sent us was bad. We returned the engine to ***** and I would like a refund of the full purchase price I had paid.

      Sincerely,

****************, you never made it aware that the engine stop running. Your mechanic and our tech were trying to figure out the top end noise. Pistons are in the bottom end and there was no noise from the bottom it was all top. I will add all this to your file and send over to our claims the **** and they will look further into this and make a final decision.

Hello, sorry to hear that you feel you got ripped off. We did tell you to hold on from installing the engine until we spoke to the warehouse and made sure engine ran fine. We spoke to the technician that ran the engine and removed from the vehicle and said engine was a strong runner. The engine does come with a 3 year warranty. You stated on the phone that the reason you have not installed since receiving the engine about a month ago is because you were waiting on gaskets and seals. You have those parts so you will not have any problems with the warranty. Every time you email we respond and every time you call with in out business hours we will answer. Please don't assume the worse, with some positive thinking positive things will happen. We do stand behind our warranty. Thanks
