I purchased a motor from *****. The contract stated we must inspect engine within 7 days of delivery. We also had to purchase gasket, thermostat etc... before installing the engine. Engine arrived it was inspected by mechanic to find that the company sent a bad engine. Contacted company ***** stated oh that can't be right we tested the engine before it left. They agree to honor their 3 year warranty but they don't. They want all of the receipts to show we purchased everything needed to replace the engine. Yes, the engine that was never put in my car. We informed the company that the engine failed inspection. This company does not intend to right any wrongs. They hassle you with sending more receipts, pictures, and videos to tell you to send more information. Then want you send the bad motor they sent you back to them, to send it to someone else. Purchased was made on 12/7/2023. I would like a refund due to this company being quick to take payment but being difficult to fix the problem. They actually told me they wanted me to take a picture of my engine and their engine side by side. No matter how many pictures you send or receipts this company is sent. They'll want something else. After thorough research I can see people never get their money back from this company or lose more money while continuing to address the problem within this company. We only pay for their junk to be removed from their junkyard and then they want you to pay to have it shipped back to them, which is double the amount. They have changed the name of the company three to four times. I can see why. I'm sure the company name will change again soon. This company pretend to try and solve the issue when you file complaints with the BBB, credit card companies, and banks. When you contact this company by phone, they are dishonest and rude. Be sure to get everything in writing and beware of this company. A lot of positive reviews on their website but if you dig deeper, you will find the negative.Initial Complaint

I purchased a used engine from this company and they promised a 3 year warranty. After receiving and paying my professional mechanic to install the motor it basically died during the initial test drive. I have contracted the warranty claims department and they have been dragging their feet coming up with a solution. They initially asked for a bunch of information, that we did provide. ***** later they have now asked for more information that seems superfluous with nothing to do with the problem with the engine. I believe they are just trying to come up with some excuse not to honor their "warranty"! I just want a refund at this point and they are making me pay for the return shippingBusiness Response

Hello sorry to hear you are having issues with the engine, I see a claim was opened 10/23/203 on this order and we were working with the warehouse. On 10/27/2023 you filed a dispute with your credit card. The credit card company is giving you instruction to return the engine. We have no control of that, once you return the engine we can issue a refund. It would have been easier to work it out with the warehouse but once a chargeback is initiated its out of our hands. If you have any further questions please reach out to us. Thanks.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
The company had ample opportunity to "work it out with the warehouse" and has in my opinion done nothing but make excuses, drag their feet and not communicate adequately with me. I have had to initialize all contact and have gotten a bunch of delaying tactics and ridiculous lists of requests for more ***** information that has little to do with the failure of the engine. When they contact me with the proper address as to where to send the engine, and something in writing that they will issue a refund, then I will proceed to send them the piece of junk back to where it came. I do not truct to take their word here or over the phone sorry.
Sincerely,

Complaint: 20809410
I am rejecting this response because: I have had no communication from the company, other than repetitive emails requesting the same information over and over. I have had to initiate all of the phone calls. ***** has made attempts to be helpful but keeps telling me he is "waiting for approval".Frankly based upon the interaction with this company I DO NOT trust them and want to get their promise in writing that once I pay to have the engine returned they will not come up with some other lame excuse as to why they are no refunding my $$. I still have not received authorization from the claims department to return the motor! They can say whatever they want here to the BBB but their response to me has been non satisfying, frustrating and frankly untrustworthy!! Thirty days? They have been dragging their feet in response just to get to the past the thirty days so they can demy my claim?? Sounds like their MO!!
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: The response that I get here is totally different from the response that I get from their ********** *********** They are still asking me for more stupid lists of information that has nothing to do with the problem with the motor. After spending Thousands of dollars having the motor installed I should take their contradicting response here and "trust" that they will now do what they say and refund me?? AND I have to pay to have the motor returned. What a joke.

Good Morning, sorry to hear you are having issues with the used engine you purchased. From the notes I see you purchased the engine in June and called in in October stating the engine is over heating blowing white smoke. We ask for you to send in installation receipts and pictures of the engine heat tabs so we can file a warranty claim. We did receive everything and got your warranty approved. You were giving return instructions October and we have not received the engine back for a refund. Once the engine gets returned we will issue you a refund. I see you have bought five engines from us and we have always taken care of you. If you have anymore questions please reach out. Thanks

I try to focus on the good some companies do and write good reviews and not bad on the not so good ones; but this "outfit" deserves the time. Ordered a so called " drive tested" cvt trans from this " company" for a 2010 ****** maxima. Received trans and mechanic removed the old and installed this "drive tested" trans. When mechanic teat drove the vehicle it was pouring fluid from pump gasket (If trans would have been so called "drive tested" this would have been obvious to a non mechanic ) so had to pay again to have trans pulled back out, pump gasket replaced; and trans reinstalled! Test drove and trans would not shift out of low range. Took car to ****** dealer and had ecm and tcm reflashed. No difference. Service tech said something "wrong" with trans. Took car to trans shop where they priced us a total of $3975 for rebuilt ****** trans and labor. Left the car with them and they were good enough to check the trans before replacing it and found the valve body was bad and replaced it. Operates like it should now. How can a " drive tested" trans with a really bad leak at pump gasket and hung up in low gear not be noticed by whoever " test drove " the trans? (Common sense) The only answer I received from them was the old go to " it was fine when it left here". HOW CAN THAT EVEN RESEMBLE THE ******* I guess the freight companies are now in the business of removing good valve bodies and replacing them with non functioning ones. This little endeavor with this company ended up costing us over 5k. This is partially my fault for trusting this company. Tried to file a what they call a "warranty " claim. " I need diagnostic codes and seal recpts" is what I was told. The mechanic didn't replace the seals because they weren't leaking. Replacing these seals would not have made the valve body function correctly. (Common sense). If this trans was truly "drive tested" these issues would most defiantly been noticed by someone i would hope. WE WERE SENT A NON FUNCTIONING CVTBusiness Response

In December of 2022 I purchased a used engine with a 3 year warranty that was guaranteed to be in working order and running condition -from AM Used auto parts for my Infiniti M56. Two months later when it finally arrived my shop installed and couldn't get it running unless two sensors - the crank and cam sensor were unplugged- after weeks or months of back and forth- i had it towed to another dealer where they told me the engine was sent with bad timing and the engine needed a timing job. If the engine was in working order like they "Guaranteed" it wouldn't need another 6 thousand dollars worth of repairs and installation on top of the already paid for almost 5 thousand dollars of repairs and installation.... they kept telling me it was an electrical problem. After multiple calls and messages- and them saying they would do something- they said- We don't cover that. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY- the warranty doesn't mean anything.Business Response

Hello, sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with us. After reviewing your file seems like your mechanic could not get the engine running properly and kept trying different things. I'm sorry that you had to experience that but we can not refund you based on your mechanic experimenting with different parts. We stand 100% behind our warranty. Anything internal with the engine we will cover and replace or refund. If you have anymore questions please feel free to reach out. ThanksInitial Complaint

I bought a used transmission from amaup. May 19th, 2023. Filled out their paper work to get the warranty. Come with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. It took almost a month to get to me june 12th 2023 . It came from ******* which I thought was weird since the company is in *******. Shiuld have been my 1st clue it was a bad deal. But I was tight on funds and this fit my budget. Got the transmission installed at a local shop worked great for 5 weeks and then one day driving down the highway going 65 to 70mph I stepped on the gas pedal to accelerate and nothing happened. Truck started slowing down. Cars were paying me left and right. I stepped on the gas again and the engine just roared. So I called and talked to ********************* at amuap. He told me to get information sent in to him and I would get a refund. Well 2 weeks later I find myself turning in the same papers the same video of evidence over and over for 2 weeks now. This company is a load of c*** because everytime I send in what they want, well what ***** says they want, there is always a ******** excuse of my its not accepted. I'm tired of jumping through hoops to get this done. I'm loosing time and money. I cannot send in the video because its to large i have cut it down to 3 seconds and it still will not send. I'm just tired of dealing with these con-artists.Business Response

Hello, we are very sorry that the transmission you purchased went out a couple months after it was received. At the time of purchase we email you a confirmation form that lets you know what needs to be done prior to the transmission being installed. As of today we have only received one receipt showing a filter and oil were replaced but the date on the receipt was blocked off. We have replied to your email letting you know what we need and you will not send. Please send all the info that is required with dates on the receipts so we can file a claim for you. It is very simple, if your mechanic did it he should have the receipts. Thanks

On 10/19/2022 I ordered an engine for a 08 Mini CooperS. Told by ************************* the engine had 43k miles came w a 10k or 1 yr warranty. I sent my e signature and did NOT SEE the 6 page stipulations for warranty. We didnt get the engine for over 6 wks. Upon installation of the engine, it took 5 weeks to to complete, we could not get it to run right., We loaded the car up and hauled it 200 miles to *********************** twice, to be told the engine had core damage, carbon build up and had many more miles than 43k and could not be repaired, needed to be replaced.I contacted AM Used Auto, told them and forwarded the diagnostics from ***********************, that the engine was bad and had to be REPLACED. It cost us ***** to have the bad engine installed, ***** to be diagnosed because IT WOULD NOT RUN bc the engine was bad. When AMUAP got the diagnostic from *****, they immediately requested the installation invoice stating that if we didn't change or replace certain gaskets etc., they would not honor the warranty. Bottom line, WE WERE SHIPPED A BAD ENGINE THAT WOULD NOT RUN DUE TO CORBON BUILDUP AND CORE DAMAGE WHICH WAS STATED IN THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT. AMUAP is NOW requesting we show reciepts for each part/gasket that the mechanic installed on/in the engine. And insisting that we" File a claim " w all reciepts " that cannot be hand written". I feel strongly that the ***** dollar diagnostic stating the engine is bad from *********************** should be sufficient for them to simply appologise for shipping a bad engine and right THEIR MISTAKE. Not make us jump through finding reciepts for gaskets etc that will NOT CHANGE THE **** THAT THE ENGINE WAS BAD WHEN THEY SHIPPED IT. I have offered to accept a refund of ***** + the 1k it cost to install the BAD ENGINE and be done. They still insist on reciepts etc I informed AMUAP that I will file a suit in our area for ALL COSTS totaling 6k plus attorney and court fees. Refund ***** for our inconvenience. Will forward diagnostics.Business Response

Good Morning, Customer received engine in November 14, 2022, and engine went bad 9 months later. We are very sorry this has happened. These are used engine and anything can happen. We received her diagnostic and now need the installation receipts which we are waiting for so we can file her claim. Once we receive that info we can get her a replacement or get the engine returned for a refund. Customer wants us to pay to have her engine rebuilt but we do not offer that in our warranty. We have emailed customer 2 times asking her to send her installation receipt and her reply is that she is going to *** us. Once we receive her installation receipt we can file her claim and then give her options. ThanksCustomer Answer

I am not able for some reason to find AMuap response to this complaint. We are simply asking this business to refund the ******** plus what it cost to ******* the bad ****** they shipped. I understand that it was not intentionally shipped. Regardless of how much it cost to diagnose, transport the car to th Valley because IT WOULD NOT RUN, to be told the engine was bad and could not be repaired,, it had to be replaced by ***********************. That in itself, should merit and appology and whatever THEY could do to right that wrong with NO QUESTIONS.

I am rejecting this response because: We have already spent exsessive time and money TRYING to get this engine to run. We havent't been able to drive the car anywhere for 6 months thinking it just needed to be fine tuned. The diagnostics, AGAIN, from *********************** that the engine is bad shoulod be all we need to simply request a refund. Not pay to ship a bad motor back! Seriously? I have already filed a Civil Suit as I cautioned AM Used Auto Parts I would if they did not refund the price of the bad engine and what it cost to install ( $4,000.) Unfortunately their response has been to send reciepts and they continue to send the signature page for the so called WARRANTY ON THEIR BAD ENGINE. No more send reciepts or listening to their excuses. They shipped a bad engine and have made no effort at all to right that wrong. My husband emailed the invoice which included parts. They have the diagnostics as well and are still pushing for pointless information. We have decided to let a Judge decide the outcome.
Sincerely,
