1 starI moved all of my websites to BlueHost/Newfold Digital, and very soon after all of my websites went down. I contacted customer service and they said someone from their security team would reach out. Then someone called me and told me it would cost $2000 to get my websites working again. It felt like a shake down. Their web hosting service is a complete scam, they will pull the bait and switch, and the switch will cost you a fortune. BlueHost is holding my websites hostage and I need to pay someone a lot of money to get access to them again.Review fromCurtis R

1 starBluehost customer support has been nothing but a nightmare. I spent three days worth of them trying to get my domain name setup and with my expensive dedicated server. I purchased 1 dedicated server, customer support wasn't able to do anything to add my domain in. Secondly I asked if i got a refund if that i would be guaranteed to have my problem fixed with my domain. I bought a new dedicated server more expensive than the last finding out customer service wasn't able to help me. After 4 hours of customer service for that night the next day I was on customer support for **** hours *********** on hold with in that time I purchased another server over the phone and that was a supervisors recommendation. He said if i did that he could add my domain (Socialmeets.net) to my server. He backed up my files from a temporary WordPress server the higher-*** (admins)emailed me so I could start working on my server. Later on the next day I've heard nothing about the progress of my backed up or ready dedicated server. nothing was escalated (support ticket wise) according to another supervisor. At this point I am so fed up after 3 days of countless consistent hours over the phone with getting no where support wise or better my server set up.I requested a refund for all my purchased from Bluehost as they cant help us since they don't have the tools to do so.I've spent almost $1,000 on my credit card and pretty sure my credit card utilization will be high temporarily lowering my credit score thanks to Bluehost.Obviously I cant tell whoever is reading this review. All I can say is stay away from a support team that doesn't have the tools to help and cant help. if your looking for another hosting site my recommendation would be to go somewhere else. Another recommendation is to make sure to read the reviews. It seems that other people have similar issues.Bottom line don't use bluehost.com they will waste your time not be able to help you.Review fromtarek m

1 starRIP OFF! ZERO MINUS ****! NEVER TRUST THIS CON!I am horrified at the lack of service. What a RIP-OFF they doubled my prices without any notice! They do not respond to emails and they no longer answer the phone. I placed many clients with them over the years! Their Web hosting ***** too. Nothing but problems. Now I can't even reach them! I HATE DOTSTER. They are the worst business in the Web space! None of the discounts they send works either. They ****. They absconded with one of my favorite domains and want me to pay them $160 to retrieve it! If I could I would purposely put them out of business for unfair trade practices. All that money I spent with them was a waste.Review fromEd B

1 starAbsolute worst customer support. There is a complete disconnect from Level 1 support to Level 3 support. We were at fault for missing a notice of a billing error but when the site and email went down and we contacted them it took a manager to suggest closing the original account and opening a new one because clearing the old one would take up to 72 hours. This sounded reasonable, but resulted in the account being held from being activated and having to be escalated again with it taking up to 72 hours. All I can say is stay away from this company.Review fromNancy F

1 starI am reporting so others can be aware and not go with this company. I set this blog up through a "it's a lovely life" group. I set up my website/blog through above affiliate link to blue host and WordPress in April of 2020.I renewed the in 2022 cost was higher but not too bad. (I thought I chose a multiyear plan)I received notification of renewal time approaching and the costs had jumped much higher than I felt reasonable. This year I decided to close the site. I took CC info off site to stop auto renewal as I was closing everything down.I received 4 separate charges on an old credit card that went through for over $1200.00 for separate services some listed as 3 year plans. I called as soon as code guard and choice plus charges (over $800) were received, as autorenewal billing email. I advised the site was shut down and to cancel all charges. **************** was helpful and quick to refund. They were made aware of the cancellation and supposedly marked the account closed. I received 3 additional auto renew charges to my credit card over the next 3-4 days for other services SEO tools, site lock security, and domain name registration. all have been resolved but this took more than 4 calls and a few hours of my time.other issues for which I was canceling the site: The site worked ok but I was getting very bizarre comments on blog posting coming from what appeared to be a bot that became more and more inappropriate/porn. Grateful I had a preview feature and it did not post to my site. I found no real way to get to the customized email after set up.Review fromjeremy Z

1 starSince there are several entities under one corporate umbrella this in in reference to iPage and domain.com...though it seems like the same story as everyone elses.Holy S**T this is the worst customer experience ever. With more than 10 days of "working" with them...they still couldn't get my email working. It was 100% a DNS issue that THEY had to fix and THEY kept inputting the same info which was the issue in the first place.I canceled and moved to hostpapa who is it seems thankfully not under the Newfold or its parent company umbrella. Within four hours they had everything working as it should and 100% functional. At this moment I am still trying to move the domain away from them now and its a nightmare. They keep denying the transfer even though they are giving me the transfer code. Now they are saying ICANN has the domain locked. I called ICANN and got a US agent on the line in seconds who assured me that its the registrar that has the lock and that they do not have any control over that...which is also on the website. Notice I said I called them...not an option for ipage or domain.com Having to use chat as the only method to communicate is obscene. First, you have to wait upwards of 30 minutes to get someone on the line and once you do...OH BROTHER you better respond within 2 minutes or they will time you out.Once you do get someone online be prepared to be one of probably a dozen chats...it could be 2 minutes or 10 minutes before they respond to you but again...you better be waiting or you will time out.Just look elsewhere, these clowns are nothing but heartburn and hair pulling!Never sign up for a service that has no phone number!Review fromStephanie D

1 starI've always had issued setting up my emails with this company, initially, then EVERY TIME I replaced any device. They always took payment 15 days before the renewal date. This time, I had planned to change companies. I was tired of the hassle. At least as early as the day they took my money, 15 & 16 February, my email accounts stopped working, and I could not access my website. In December 2022, I had a house fire. I've been a little busy. So dealing with my work email and website were way on the bottom of my list. Today, 3/2/23, the renewal date, I contacted them to cancel. Between the renewal fee for 3 years and $167.28 for Sitelock and codeguard, they took $994.56. They tell me they can "prorate it." Seriously? Today is the renewal date. Their policy is for renewals, refunds must be within the 15-day window. Ridiculous. They take your money, then say if you want it back you must tell ** within those 15 days. AND nothing has worked since at least 15 February. I have used three web hosting companies. Bluehost, by far, is the worst. Did they give me a full refund? Yes. But not without pulling teeth. Had they not been willing to give me a full refund I would have filed a complaint. Still, they deserve a really honest review. Keep your money.Review fromJenn G

1 starI signed up for their hosting through an affiliate link recommended. I could not access my website at all and every time I would log in and try to access their panel, I would receive error messages and constantly have to change my pw. I contacted them and was told that it would be a while for my website to come up, try later. So I waited a couple of days and still the same problem. Contacted them for a refund and they hit me with a cancellation fee. I don't even want to give them one star. Their customer service is a joke and if you are just starting out, this is not the hosting site you want in your corner. ZERO stars for my rating.Review fromSean C

1 starI would give Bluehost '0' stars if possible. From the very first week setting it up and trying to use it, it was not only cumbersome, in terms of the website builder that's supposed to work with WordPress and allow me to update my website--it flat didn't work most of the time. I spent hours and hours, multiple times, with tech support on live chat, trying to get things fixed. Bug and glitch after bug and glitch. I demanded a refund, but the official policy is no refund. $700+ investment with very little value to show for it. I'm probably starting completely from scratch to rebuild my website using another hosting service. Extraordinarily disappointing and frustrating.
