Advance Travel network contacted me about a little over a year ago about advertising my unused Wyndham timeshare. They said they had a major corporate event and needed the rooms. The salesperson said that there was going to be a group call where we all agree to the price for the block of rooms needed for the event. They "guaranteed" that they would rent the weeks in 60-90 days. I had to call back a couple of times and they said that a Hurricane had interrupted the conference and they were putting me at the TOP of the List. ATN sent me offers for 3 of my 6 rentals but I had to call to see if the properties were available for the weeks specified. They were not available. I called back to let them know that none of the rentals were available. They said they would get more offers over. This was around Nov or Dec. Nothing came. I called Jan 25th and they said offers would come to me in no longer than a week or I could get a refund. No offers came. I called back March 24 requesting my refund that I was told I couldn't have one. I was told that the refund would come at the end of the term, which was the end of June, but they were going to get me "Successful" offers before that time, which never happened. I called back today Aug 8th about my refund and of course, there is no refund and so far, no offers this calendar year. I have recordings of all conversations as evidence of this companies lies.

I am rejecting this response because:

So your resolution is to do more of the same, I hate to break it to you but that is not a resolution.  I know you are hoping that I just don't respond so that you can show this dispute as resolved on the BBB. I am going to report this fraud to the credit card company.

    Sincerely,

On October 31, 2022, Advantage Travel Network called me and promised to rent 4 bonus timeshare weeks for $1,800.00 each in exchange for a $499.00 advertising fee per week ($1,996.00 total). During that conversation, I asked many "What if..." questions and asked what the 'catch' was. I was told there was no 'catch'. I specifically asked the representative Mr. Brown the question..."Are you telling me that if I pay you $499.00 per week, you will rent them for $1,800.00 each, meaning I net $1,300.00 for each week? What is the risk to me?" He said "None". I asked, "Are you saying there is 0% risk for me? I will get my money?" He replied, "Yes, there is nothing to worry about. We do this all the time." When entering into the agreement, I relied on Mr. B****'s promise of a refund if the weeks were not rented. If he had said there was a chance I would receive no compensation and would still be out $1,996.00, I would have declined the offer. But with his assurance I would be compensated (or receive a refund) I entered into the agreement. They did not rent any weeks and are saying they only promised to advertise the weeks and are refusing a refund. The company says they have a recording of me entering into the agreement, which I do not deny. I want them to provide the complete sales pitch conversation to show they are using deceptive tactics and making false promises during the sales pitch that they have no intention of fulfilling. Since I detrimentally relied on a promise from the sales rep, Mr. B***** I want my money back as he indicated would happen if the weeks were not rented. Furthermore, the company violated the contract when they failed to provide prospective renter information so I could negotiate directly with any prospects. There was a week that was available for rental, but it was a 2 bedroom instead of a 1 bedroom. The representative declined on behalf of the prospect rather than allow me to negotiate. The contract says I get to negotiate.

I received a call from a Jessie W***** at Advance Rental Getways in July of 2022. He told me he had 1000 getaway weeks for a medical convention in Florida that was scheduled for August 2022 and he would pay me $2000 per week if I paid $495. He said this was a guaranteed. He asked me to pay $495 for 4 weeks. When I did not receive any offers in August or September, I called back and they assured me that they would have offers immediately. My first offers came in Oct. 2022 - all of them for resorts that had no availability for the entire month. I asked for my money back at that point. I was told I had to give it a year at which time a refund could be given. In March I was again provided offers - again - the offers had no merit as all of the resorts had no availability for the entire month. I again reiterated my request for a refund. I was again told that if I had no offers at the end of a year, I could get my money back. Finally in early July I received more "bogus" offers - not one had any availability. I was told that after July 20th, I could get a refund. When I called back on July 24th, the customer service rep stated I could not get a refund. I asked for a manager to call back, which one did on July 25th - and again told no refund (basically ever). They would continue to market my 4 weeks and as long as they made offers (even though none ever pan out) - I would not get my money back. This is a scam and this business needs to be shut down immediately.

    Complaint* ********

I am rejecting this response because: this company has had my money (almost $2,000) since August 2022. They promised me during our phone discussion that they had clients that wanted our weeks and that we would be reimbursed at $1999 per week in the August/September 2022 timeframe. In fact, we did not hear from this business until October and then again in March and finally in July in which they asked us to check on the availability of weeks with Interval International. Every single week they provided to us - there was no availability.  I am doing more work than they are contacting interval international each time checking on the available weeks. This company just takes your money, misleads you with false representations about how quickly they can sell your weeks to someone else and does not follow through on their commitments.  Every time I complain - they tell me I'm on the top of the list for weeks - and then I don't hear from them until 3 months later and the weeks they give me - they are horrible - its always sold out periods of time.  I truly feel that I will never get anything back from the money I put out initially over a year ago - this company takes your money and then does nothing meaningful as far as providing you with any compensation. I would give them a rating of zero (with 10 being the highest) - it is just a fraudulent enterprise. I would never recommend that anyone do business with this company and I will make sure that I let all my friends and neighbors know how they treat their clients.

    Sincerely,

Advance Travel network said they would rent out our Interval Get- a- way weeks. We supposedly 'activated' the four weeks by paying $1596.00. This was on 9/23/22. They "guaranteed" that we would rent the weeks in 60-90 days. ATN sent us offers for the rentals but we had to call to see if the properties were available for the weeks specified. This happened at least twice but the properties were never available. I would like a refund of the $1596.00. We haven't heard from them in over 6 months.

The 38 complaints submitted are similar or identical to my complaint. I was contacted by Abby P***** ***** ******** regarding selling 4 wks of my timeshare each year. The cost to me was 1,800.00 which I put on my credit card. My calls to ATN have not been answered. I would like my money back.

I spent $499 with this company in July of 2022. So far, I have no luck in securing a rental. They initially implied that we would have a contract within 90 days. Now, they are saying a year. Then, after a year, they will review and decide IF they want to give me a refund.

We were contacted by Advanced Travel Network by Phone. The company indicated they were aware that we had RCI weeks that we may not want to use. They explained to my wife that they could guaranty a rental of these weeks for a fee of $1,500.00. They were asked multiple times about the guaranty and no contingencies were stated. Subsequently when we were not receiving any correspondence from them we followed up with phone calls. Each time the questioned was asked about the guaranteed refund . Each time the answer was yes it is guaranteed and to be patient. The question was very straight forward. This is guaranteed correct. The response was yes it is. The company eventually sent some off requests but required us to call RCI to rent the weeks. They indicated this is how the program worked. We did this but was never able to get a rental commitment. We were misled from the beginning and all the way through the process. We continued to contact Advance travel and tried to escalate a resolution as our contract was expiring. They informed my wife they would not grant a refund of all or any part of the prepayment we made. On multiple occasions ,during this process, our calls to Advanced Travel kept going to a recording indicating they were having technical issues and to call back later.

This company contacted me to attempt to sell/advertise 3 of my vacation property weeks through RCI. They told me I would have a buy-out property with in 60-90 days. I am going on over a year and they have not made true to their promises and refuse to give me my refund and end the contract! I have constantly tried to be in contact with them and the same person always returns my phone call. It is a 100% SCAM and needs to be shut down immediately!
