I reserved a car but then had to cancel the reservation. They charged me a non-refundable $100 fee for the cancellation even though it was made in an hour or two. I can understand non-refundable fees, but for a reservation that was made more than a week ahead of time and was canceled within a couple of hours of making it is extreme. ******* tried to get the refund for me but Sixt refused. Needless to say I will never use them and I will warn others not to, as well.

I rented a car from here June 2025. Because of a canceled flight I arrived 24 hours after my reservation, but still paid for the entire trip. The person that checked us in said we could get a larger car for no more money because of the extra days credit. That turned out to be false and we ended up being uncharged several hundred dollars. After we returned the vehicle, the location tried to fine us for damage to a tire rim that did not happen while we had the vehicle. When I requested images with date time stamps of the damage and rental records of who had the car between the time we returned the car and they notified us of damage, they refused. I would not recommend this company.

Beware of Sixt Rental Car! I returned a vehicle in good condition, yet months later, they claimed $805 in damages, now reported as $900 to credit bureaus. Their evidence is fraudulent and inconsistent. They provided an invalid invoice from ****** Motors (#*******M), which I verified with ****** Motor Cars as nonexistent, and a $0 invoice from A&R Autoglass with unexplained charges. The photos they provided lack critical details like the **** timestamps, or proof I caused any damage. The location in the photos doesnt even match where I rented the car, and the photos show someone elses hands and phone.Sixt has a history of deceptive practices, including a $11.07 million class action lawsuit settlement in 2025 for charging renters for damages in violation of rental agreements. Their actions violate consumer protection laws, and Im disputing this fraudulent claim with Summit AR, filing complaints with the BBB, and considering legal action. Protect yourselfavoid Sixt and their false claims!

I Rented a car from ***, ****************** Branch August 1st-4th. I lost the key made a claim and they told me they have no spare keys and that they would need to order one. To amend the rest of my time in ******* they rented out another vehicle to me. The original vehicle I was locked out of had some of my valuable belongings inside and I discussed with management explicitly that I needed them to call me when they accessed the vehicle. To no surprise they did not reach out to me at all and all of my belongings in the vehicle I was locked out of have not been accounted for and after immediately putting in a lost items claim they say that nothing was found. This is very shady due to the fact the vehicle was locked and only accessed by SIXT so for them to tell me no items were recovered is a blatant lie ultimately leading me to the conclusion that my belongings were stolen by employees. This is a horrible look for a business that's all about professionalism and luxury.

Ruined my credit when I was told I have damage on a car I didn't incur. The scratches they reported were all over the car. Not sure how an "accident" can cause minor scratches everywhere. Insurance also claimed that I'm not responsible. So naturally the process took way longer and now collection is involved. Use this rental company and you will regret it.

Sharing our experience when attempting to pick up our rental car, which was booked through Expedia for a one-way trip from ****** to *********** on 8/3/2025.Upon arrival at the rental counter, the representative informed us that there was no vehicle available for a one-way trip in the category we had reserved. This was both surprising and frustrating, as the same vehicle category was still showing as available for booking online at that very moment. The representative offered us an "upgrade" for a price that was $400 more than our original booking, bringing the total to over $600 for what should have been a 5-hour drive--plus a $200 refundable deposit. This was an unreasonably steep cost for a short rental, especially when the lack of availability was not due to any fault of ours. When I expressed my frustration and declined to pay such an inflated amount, I was told the reservation could not be canceled at the counter. This left us scrambling to find alternative transportation late in the day, which led to further complications, expenses, and delays. We eventually had to book with another rental company under less-than-ideal circumstances, which created an even longer and more stressful trip home. The experience was highly inconvenient, time-consuming, and avoidable if proper inventory management and communication had been in place.

************. Charges for damage that wasn't there when dropped off. I asked for proof they never sent to me. It hit my credit. I am definitely going to get an attorney involved. Do not use this scam company. They lie and have horrible customer service. Unbelievable. If I could have left less than one star I would have.

Stay Away From Sixt--You Will ***** Extra Charges I rented a car from the *************************************** at ****. I took any pictures of defects and also got videos of the car while it was in the parking garage where it was held before leaving. When I brought the car back, they looked at it under direct sunlight and marked any defects that were visible. I now have a bill for $900 worth of damages for a paint scratch that I did not do or was responsible for. It is unfair that the customer reviews the car in the parking garage where there is not direct sunlight and the area is dimly lit, but upon return the agents have the car in direct sunlight where they can see any small defect. I have friends who have used Sixt and they have dealt with the same issues. I thought it was just a fluke that a similar situation has happened to them. When reviewing this incident, it is clear to see that if you do not get the insurance then they look the car over in great detail. If you get the insurance, the car is not reviewed and any defects that happened while the car was rented is not documented properly. This ends up sticking the person with the cost of the issues who does not get the insurance and the defect gets blamed on them. This is a horrible business practice and I truly believe this is Sixt's business model--they rent luxury cars at a discount price in hopes the customer will decline the insurance and then Sixt can bill the person who opts out of insurance for any damage that has happened to the car. They not only bill for any defects on the car, but they also charge for depreciation of the ************ of experience: June 01, 2025
