If I could do zero star I would. My son had a terrible experience with this company that I never even heard of before he used them. He rented a car in ***** in July and as others have said had to pay that ridiculous amount for insurance and a deposit. The car he got was filthy so he had to go back in and they gave him another car. That car broke down while he was out and about, no one would answer the phone when he was stranded and called and he was on the phone for over an hour with no one answering. By the time he got the car towed back to them using his own roadside assistance it was after hours and they were closed so he had to do an after hours return. With no car he had to take Ubers for the rest of his trip and this company would not even reimburse for that or respond to his emails. He disputed with his credit company who reversed the charges and Colusa had the nerve to send them a copy of the agreement stating that the services were provided so they should be paid. Your car broke down and he was not able to use it or get another car from you that is NOT service provided. Everyone please do not use this company they are a scam and pure trash. I will do reviews about them everywhere I can and make sure I get the word out to not use tnem. They need to be shut down.

I wouldn't even give then 1 star. This company is a total ripoff. I booked on Priceline and when I got there they claim to not have a mid size car then charged ***** per day to up grade. However the car given was a small compact car. I bought insurance through priceline but of course the claimed it wasn't the insurance needed so they charged another fee. Then they charged $350 for security deposit. When you sign their agreement it's just a blank signature pad. NO CONTRACT SHOWN. So I asked what I was signing. She stated the hold for deposit which will be released as soon as I returned the car. I asked them to do a walk through before leaving but was told cameras take bumper to bumper pictures as I drive off. Didn't sound right so I took my own pictures for my security. When I returned the car I again requested a walk around to insure they wouldn't pin any damages on me. I was told my security deposit would be released and I will receive a email. Well when the email came, it was stamped that security deposits will be refund in 30 days. We are now at over 70 days and I'm still waiting on my refunded deposit. I have emails of the conversation about their attempt to make the deposit but no deposit has been made. No need to call because you'll wait on hold over a hour then they hang up. I've reached out to priceline to investigate after reading the reviews. It appears to be a pattern. I'm looking into hiring a attorney for class action lawsuit.

Worst car rental!!My original quote was $25, when I can came to pickup I needed to take more insurance coverage plus I needed to take a toll tag ended up paying $300, I had a lot issues with the car so I told them I'm returning it was like 3 hours later and they didn't want to refund me back the money... **************** is very bad and so unprofessional... This was after 4 hours waiting for the train plus shuttle from the airport...Won't recommend this experience for no-one

No transparency of prices. I arrived to get my rental booked through economy. At pick up, 15$ a day additional charged for tolls. I said I had my own Sunpass. They said doesnt matter and if not paid I would be charged an additional fine of 25$ a day EVEN with my own Sunpass/Epass. Then my full coverage insurance was not good encourage I dont have ****** insurance. I do for liability. My 100$ expected total is now 500$. They said all this is in the terms I signed when booking. If it is in the terms when booking why it have it transparent when agreeing to price? These are hidden fees and unlawful. My next intended step is for failure to disclose transparent information. DO NOT BOOK with COLUSA in my opinion the overwriter for AddCar. DONOT book with ADDCAR, in my opinion. They will upcharge without transparently notifying in the final rental agreement purchased online. Ive screenshotted every page Ive agreed to in the final bookings- it was not overtly disclosed.

Read these reviews before booking. This company tries to scam people who are in a vulnerable position. Extra insurance, not accepting credit cards , etc. Avoid.

BEWARE, total scammers. Don't ignore the one star reviews here and elsewhere. My $200 prepaid rental turned into $500 because they require you to show that your car insurance has $300,000 property damage liability coverage. They also charged $15/day to activate the toll pass, a toll violations would cost $25/toll. I booked on rentalcars.com and this was not made clear. I've booked dozens of cars around the world and never had this problem, by far my worst rental car experience and honestly the most I've been scammed traveling anywhere. To top it off, the car was in poor condition.

Good afternoon, our T&C shows the liability requested to take the car on the different bookings where we appears and the same applies for the tolls since our T&C are clear about it.

This was a horrible experience on multiple levels in 2023. (1) I was over-charged - by discovercars.com and by Colusa Rent a Car in Ft. Lauderdale. I booked on discovercars and then was picked up and taken to Colusa Rent a Car. (2) The instructions on the paperwork upon arrival at the airport about where to catch the van to the rental facility lead me to call an international company, with a phone number that did not connect me. (3) I asked a random shuttle van driver, if he new where the pickup location was for me, showing him my paperwork. He said, "Yeah, that's me." But, his pick up location had no signage at the airport with their logo and my paperwork did not have the logo or name on their van either. I got in the van...bad idea. I know. The driver enroute made inappropriate remarks, "like you look nervous" and another comment about my appearance. WHAT? (4) At check in, the insurance amount they added to my credit card was something like $1500, when my insurance company has told me that I never needed to do that and they held the pending charge on my card for 2 months. I think they were making sure I wouldn't write a negative review. They advised me to prepay for tolls, that were non-refundable when there literally were no required toll roads on the way to my destination. (5) The car was beat up - the center console to view the speed was steamed up. The dashboard was dented. (6) After a short weekend in Florida, a month later they charged my card for a small amount, $15, it came up on my email, as a notification for a reservation fee. When I contacted Colusa, they said I had to send an email to request the fee be removed, but *don't* contact my credit card company about it, because then they won't be able to reverse it. I plan to post this on Discovercars.com, also. Be mindful of avoiding these companies.

Anyone encounters these thief keep reporting and write reviews! They do not deserve to be in business. I purchased my rental via priceline which would have been only 49$. I said okay most of these smaller companies usually like high coverage for their junk that their renting people. I went ahead and purchased the insurance through Priceline. When I get there they said oh priceline coverage only up to a certain amount and i will need a third party to cover the balance of coverage. No where in the details to priceline does they say anything like that. Lets include I have insurance on my own car which they claim they dont take. BS! So they said they will need to charge me 135$ for the extra coverage and a hold of 300$. I could not cancel through priceline because i already paid the 49$. Which i regret not just doing and save me money at the end. They did gave me a car that did not work good. Got on the highway to be going 50mph and its shaking. I called the operators number because the office do not have a direct num to call to a live person. She said to go return it which i did. Fast forward to when i dropped off the car and received my return receipt to only be charged i assume is a gas fee for the car i replaced! Like its my fault their car was not working and wanted me to to pay for a full tank of gas. These people are thief's do not rent from them! I promise you will regret everything about your rental and money wasted!

AVOID THIS RENTAL BY ALL MEANS!!!!I am glad you are reading this company review before booking. I made a mistake by not doing so and booked on Priceline. By far the WORST EVER car rental place. Not only they load you for excessive additional fees on top of your paid rental, SECURITY DEPOSIT, but they also give you a weed smelling car, weed paper was stuck by the handle on the passenger seat. They will charge you for EVERYTHING! If you do not have your personal insurance to the **** we are talking about 100K/300K insurance policy, they will charge you an additional fee. I felt like I was renting a Lambo, but it was just a tiny ****** NEVER AGAIN! And you, whoever reading this, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. And forgot to mention, it has been 30 days since my end of rental, I am still trying to get the security deposit back. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME and rent from other places.
