    I recently rented a vehicle from Colusa Rent A Car, and I had an excellent experience. The staff was very professional, friendly, and helpful from the beginning of the process until the return of the car. The vehicle was clean, well-maintained, and exactly what I needed for my trip. What stood out the most was their transparency and efficiency. They clearly explained the rental terms, insurance options, and toll policies, which made me feel confident and comfortable with my decision. Unlike other rental companies, Colusa Rent A Car delivered on everything they promised, and there were no hidden surprises. Overall, I truly recommend Colusa Rent A Car to anyone looking for reliable, honest, and high-quality car rental service in Florida. I will definitely choose them again for my future trips.

    Colusa is a Carwiz franchise owner that engages in fraudulent, misleading, and deceptive sales practices. I rented a car this from Friday, September 19 to Monday, September 22 via a Priceline bundle. Colusa is located miles from *********** in a shady industrial neighborhood. I had to get a cab because the "free shuttle" was unavailable. Upon arrival, I was notified Colusa does not accept **************** or debit cards of any kind, which is policy that exists because it enables Colusa to perpetrate fraud more easily via private label credit cards. I was then asked to provide my auto insurance binder with proof of coverage limits. I have never encountered this demand in my 30 years renting vehicles. As a result, I was unethically jammed into purchasing their insurance coverage. They also force customers to purchase 20 dollar per day toll payment packages that are opaque and not explained by the customer service representative. Most outrageously, Colusa/Carwiz charged my credit card a 500 dollar "deposit" rather than the industry standard "temporary hold" that is released once the car is returned without incident. Colusa notified me that it could take 30 days to return the deposit despite the vehicle being returned without incident. I was forced to file a charge back complaint with my credit card company after being threatened over text that my deposit might take longer to return if I dispute the transaction with my bank. Colusa also does not answer phone calls if you have complaints about a completed reservation. I canceled the card Colusa charged because other reviews have stated that Colusa fraudulently charges cards weeks and months after a rental has been returned. The State of ******* should close this this business for consistently defrauding residents and travelers visiting *******. *******************. **** through reputable companies.

    My itinerary # with Expedia Reserved on June 24, 2025.A car reservation that included rental car protection.Paid with **************** $343.13 On July 6th I went to Colusa Car Rental to pick up the rental car. At the counter they were trying to charge me over $400 extra for insurance, I refused to take it.I explained that the rental car protection was included in my reservation with Expedia. The girl at the counter, said if you dont pay it we wont rent the car. And they didnt. She cancelled the reservation.Therefore their service was never ************ they are refusing to refund the money to Expedia.They are doing this to other people by reading the reviews and getting away with it.

    Could you please provide us with your Expedia reservation number? We cannot find ********* ****** in our system. 
    Similarly, if you had ****************** the additional charge at the office is for the ** Waiver or TPL, which is civil liability or third-party coverage applicable if the driver causes injury to a third party and/or their property.

    The insurance you had with your booking covers you and the car you are driving, not third parties. When the customer chooses to use this insurance, the system automatically charges the ** Waiver. Basically, it is mandatory when customers use their own booking insurance. I did not take the reservation because I do not accept the terms and conditions of the reservation. The prepayment was made on Expedia, not directly to us, and we will respond to the booking with only the reason why you did not take the reservation.

    I booked a rental car through Expedia in *************** with Colusa Rent a Car. I paid $326 for the rental using my valid credit card, but the reservation was under my husbands name (we share the same last name).When we arrived to pick up the car, the receptionist noticed the difference and initially told us it was not a problem, and that we could contact ******* for a refund. However, the company refused to provide the car, claimed the credit card was not acceptable for the security deposit, and kept the payment.Expedia then sent me a message stating that I had chosen to cancel the reservation, which is false. I never canceled the rental company denied service and failed to honor the booking.This situation is unfair and misleading. I paid in good faith, received no service, and lost $326. I am requesting a full refund of $326 and for both Expedia and Colusa Rent a Car to be held accountable for their unfair business practices.

    My experience with Colusa Rent a Car was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The horror began the moment I arrived at their location. Even though I had already paid online, they charged me more money on-site for additional "insurance" that was never disclosed in the rental agreement or during the booking process. It felt deceptive and dishonest right off the bat.They also required a $350 deposit, which I was told was a temporary holdstandard procedure, assuming the vehicle is returned in good condition. I returned the car without a scratch and in perfect standing. I was then told it could take up to 30 days to receive the deposit back. That alone was frustrating, but I waited *************, 35 days later, I STILL havent received my deposit. Ive contacted the company, and all I got was a vague response saying it would be looked into. No follow-up, no resolution, and certainly no refund.This company is completely unprofessional and dishonest. They take your money with no intention of honoring their own terms. DO NOT rent from Colusa Rent a Carthey are a scam operation, and you will regret doing business with them. I hope this review saves someone else from going through what I did.

We want to clarify that at Colusa Rent a Car we do not withdraw any additional money without your authorization, and all the charges that appear in your reservation are supported by Booking, the platform where you made the reservation. The charge for the additional insurance was mentioned in the booking process and in the terms of the reservation, and the $350 deposit is a standard procedure that is done to guarantee the good condition of the vehicle, which was returned to you in perfect conditions through a dispute that you made to the bank and was accepted by us.

    Similar experience. Charged for extra insurance. It seemed very shady upon arrival. During our rental experience some plastic came out from under the car. Zip ties were holding it on. I took photos and returned the car with the zip tied plastic piece. It was a total scam. Trying to charge me 2K for a little piece of plastic that they had intended to fall off. I am fighting to bring their shady operation to light. Do Not Rent A Car from CARWIZ

    Beware Unethical Scam Fraud .Rented a car in Jan 2025 Used my own Insurance Purchased their Liability coverage with my Credit Card was told my Liability Insurance policy did not cover enough but my insurance would cover everything else.The car was hit damaged bumper while parked at hotel. My insurance paid for the damages but Colusa charged additional hidden fees on top damages that was not covered by my insurance. Colusa was paid by my insurance company and Charged total bill for repairs and hidden charges to my Credit Card that was only Authorized to pay for additional Liability insurance. They were paid over 6,000 dollars for damages that were approximately $2500.I am still fighting for resolution.

    Experience with COLUSA RENT A CAR:I want to warn anyone considering renting from COLUSA RENT A CAR. I rented a car on July 17th for two days, and upon returning it, I handed over the keys without any inspection since I had to rush to the airport. Hours later, I received a notification of a $4,700 charge on my credit card for an alleged scratch on the back of the car that I never caused.The amount charged is an outrageous sum for minimal damage, and this charge is simply theft. Since then, I have tried to resolve the matter through every possible means, but this company seems skilled at evading any responsibility. I have reported the case to every relevant authority and am now in the process of taking legal action.If you are considering renting a vehicle, I strongly recommend you stay away from COLUSA RENT A CAR. They not only scammed me but also show a total lack of ethics. I will not allow them to keep my money unjustly and will continue to expose their fraudulent practices publicly.

    I rented a vehicle through a third-party, Priceline. At the car rental counter I was informed that because Im over 65 that there was a senior fee. There was a rental amount negotiated through Priceline, but more money was requested with various fees that I never heard of upon arrival. As of today my $500 deposit still has not been returned. I have documentation with an approved, check in and inspection with no discrepancies. I have contacted Priceline and will not be doing business with them anymore either,as they should be aware of the3rd party companies that they do business with. Customers ***** are not disclosed about the length of time for holding your deposit nor the additional fees until you are at the counter. The car rental location is in a remote site from the airport so once youre there, your options to get another car rental are extremely limited, So there are no viable alternatives to cancel, in addition, fees are disclosed after you return the vehicle. I would like my deposit released, and pay only the amount that was negotiated through Priceline, not additional amounts specified after the fact. Honestly, this is very very concerning. Im not sure what other recourses can be made to protect consumers but these type of undisclosed practices cannot continue in this country. There must be coordinated plan to help protect innocent consumers.

    I rented a car on Aug 3rd and returned on the 10th. I still have not received my ****** dollar damage that they hold on your credit card. I have called many times waiting over an hour just to have the phone hang up on me. They have stolen the ******. I will pay more money next time at least they don't keep your money.
