      Date: 21 July 2022: called Wild Country Plumbing (Bx 553; Montrose,CO) to repair leaking bathtub hotwater faucet. No mention of a service charge. They came, removed hot water stem, saw no problem and put it back in place. Then told me this was all they knew how to do. Next called their supervisor, then told me they still didn't know how to repair it & for me to call another plumber. I was shocked because they didn't even take out the inner seat to check it, much less look further beyond the seat. After only 10 minutes here, they left without repairing problem. So I called another plumber who came next day-22 July 2022. He immediately/correctly troubleshot the problem. He took out the seat and showed me the serious damage there, requiring opening up the tile wall and replacing the entire hot/cold faucet assembly, which cost $500. But totally repaired the problem. Then, surprisingly on 29 July, I received email bill(***********************) from Wild Country stating I owed $150 for a service call. I immediately called them and told them that I had been wrongly billed because their plumber neither troubleshot the problem or repaired it and then left without doing any repairs. They said I still had to pay. So I told them I would not because no repairs were done. Then, even more surprising, on 2 Aug 2022 I received a certified letter from Wild Country threatening that if I didn't pay the $150 service charge they would put a lien on my property, take me to court and have to pay their attorney, etc. And, that it didn't matter whether or not they repaired the problem or not, I still had to pay the service charge. I feel that if this goes public their reputation will be destroyed because it appears to be is a scam technique to intentionally send unqualified people who can't/won't repair basic plumbing problems, have them leave you stranded, then send a service charge bill & then threaten legal action if unpaid.
