      We are the original home buyers of this house. The house was constructed in 2018 and sat until we bought it in 2019. There have been MANY issues that have occurred due to poor quality of building materials, there are structural defaults, we hired someone to replace the flooring and there are large holes in our upstairs subflooring that Century Communities just covered with carpet. We have also been told the sub flooring was not installed correctly leading to it creaking and cracking. The ceilings and walls are cracking, the foundation is cracked, they didn't properly prepare the backyard and created a steep dropoff that has led to erosion and the fence is about to fall from all of the erosion. They took a backhoe and just dug a trench with a straight drop off. We have walls that bow out in many areas which is most likely due to faulty building materials or the structure not being sound. The shower in the master was not properly sealed leading to a build up of mold. When we reach out to ************************ at the Washington branch he is very unhelpful. He either never returns our calls or when he does answer he never has answers, says he is busy and hangs up. I would like to be contacted by someone other than ****. We are getting to the point where we have enough images/videos/licensed and bonded contractors that have made statements to where we have a good case to go to court.

      Thanks for the opportunity to respond to *****************  The following repairs have taken place in the home:


      The foundation, drywall, paint, laundry room shaking. were addressed on 04/04/2022 see my response in the attached file.
      Not structurally defects and drywall crack was addressed on 05/02/2022
      Paint was declined on 05/11/2022. due to a scheduled remodel
      HOs asking for flooring specs was answered on 05/11/2022
      HOs asking for blue prints was answered on 05/25/2022

       

      The plans for the home may be viewed at the city of Lakewood in the building department.

       

      We are more than happy to investigate the flooring matter.  All we need is for this matter to be submitted through our online website at centurycommunities.com.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The foundation has progressively gotten worse since 04/2022. They didnt inspect anything about the way the crack in the ceiling goes from one side of the house all the way to the other side. The drop off for the 20 ft ceilings where the master bedroom closet is CRACKING OFF THE CEILING. **** did nothing to address that. 

      Also, we discovered today and yesterday that the duct work under our kitchen cabinets was not installed correctly and has been damaged SINCE WE MOVED IN. Along with this, the light in the laundry room was not installed correctly and we had to have someone fix it yesterday. He informed us that they didnt use the correct type of bracket to hang up the light and that wires became lose. Had we not fixed it, it most likely would have caused a fire. This has lead to us wondering if that is why most of the rooms tend to short out and the lights just randomly flicker or go out.

      Also, he never addressed the **** that is in the middle of our bedroom! We just started taking up the carpet that came with the house so clearly it had to have been there when they installed the carpet. 

      Century Community homes have proved to us that they do very CHEAP construction work and do not care about their customers. We have created a file of evidence and statements from contractors and will be proceeding forward in litigation. Correct your mistakes instead of trying to drag it out until the warranties are no longer active. 

      We have also reached out to others in the community to take statements/records of the things they have had gone wrong in their homes due to INADEQUATE/LOW QUALITY products to build mediocre homes.

      Century community has STILL not finished out one year home warranty punch list! It's been over two years!I filed a BBB complaint a few months ago and heard from **** ( I don't know if he's still in charge) saying he would get ***** to help us. They ********* problem out of the three we asked for so far.We were told laminate flooring would be delivered 9-3-22. It was never dropped off. We reach out to them No response. Reach out again, still no response. We are waiting on paint that was promised to us MONTHS ago and still don't have it. I am beyond frustrated with the lack of professionalism in this company! And what's even more frustrating is I can't reach anyone. This company is absolutely terrible and I would suggest it to no one. I am wondering if legal action is necessary to get things rolling.
