    This company is a scam. They will charge you without completing your order and will not reimburse you. I was searching a few different services and was looking at Green Chef as one option. You have to create an account to try to see the available menu options. Apparently when you create an account it automatically activates the plan and a delivery, which you are not made aware of. As soon as I saw the charge I contacted the company that an error had been made, I had not placed an order. There was no appropriate response, they would not refund my card. My only recourse was to cancel moving forward.

    Like many other reviewers here, I only wanted to look at the menu, but to do so you have to enter credit card information. I didn't select anything, because nothing seemed appetizing to me. At all. So after browsing a few minutes, I just selected CANCEL and forgot about it. Then I see I was charged $44 for meals which are on their way 2 weeks later!! I called and said I wanted a refund, and they said it's too late. The representative even agreed I hadn't selected ANY meals, and canceled within minutes, but I was locked in and NO ONE in the entire company could refund my money. I called my bank and reported it as fraud so they're dealing with this for me now.
    Today I get the delivery and guys, it is underwhelming to say the least. The menus are unappetizing (ground pork patties?? Creamy ancho turkey soup?? Why would I want these???) plus I still have to dice and cook, INCLUDING A ROCK HARD BUTTERNUT SQUASH. Plus, I didn't know when this would get here so it sat on my front porch for 4 hours in the sun, until I happened to see an email saying my box is out for delivery. I ended up throwing away most of the stuff because I hate southwest style anything, and cauliflower rice, and kale, and cilantro, and cabbage, and Parmesan crusted anything. (Which is why I didn't select these ridiculous meals, and canceled IMMEDIATELY.)

    DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! After we used them for a week we decided it wasn't something we could maintain as a family. We put the plan on pause. The following week we notice our credit card has been charged from Green Chef. We received no notice that this was going to happen, nor were we told to select our meals. I chatted with a representative from their company named ****. She told me that yes, they do email the customer before charging their account and also let them know about selecting meals. I looked through my emails - willing to admit that if I missed the notices I would be responsible for the meals. I got 9 emails in 11 days from the company. 2 asking about our first week, 2 asking us to unpause the week we skipped, 1 to review the food we had in the first week and 4 to tell us about all the great things they offer. None of these emails mentioned an upcoming order, or reminded me to pick my meals. I thought **** might be able to verify this and admit they somehow messed up and offer some solution. I was told that it was too late to change anything and "As a friendly reminder, you have 5 days prior to delivery to make any changes or cancel your orders." They are sneaky and deceitful, and would not admit that they did not send any warning and say it it too late to even pick the meals I would actually enjoy eating. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

    Bad business! I set up an account, then. cancelled within minutes. I was still charged. Upon speaking with ***, a representative he informed me even though I deactivated my whole subscription I did not cancel my order and it was processed. Where was this information? It was not anywhere. This is such bad business. I do not recommend this company.

    Terrible. if I could give negative 5 stars I would, and that is doing a dis service to stars. We used a two free meal coupon. My wife signed up. She never agreed to auto renew billing. We received the free 2 meals on the 19th. Around 7AM of Jan 22nd I received a paypal notification that we were charged $98 from green chef! I IMMEDIATELY emailed them and forwarded the paypal emailed and told green chef to cancel and refund me. I emailed twice and never heard back. I checked with my wife and she said she never agreed to recurring meal kits or auto payments. We never received an email to pick any meals or ANY communication from green chef. We called 3 times today (Monday January 23) and spoke with 4 different people and they lied and said different things on each call. we just wanted a refund and did not want the meals. One agent said the meals were already packed so they cant be canceled (but it doesn't ship until Thursday GROSS) another said we had to give 7 days NOTICE but THAT WAS BEFORE OUR FIRST BOX ARRIVED!! another said we had to give 5 days notice BUT THAT WAS ALSO BEFORE OUR FIRST BOX ARRIVED. so we were supposed to know we would not like the service and want to cancel prior to trying it? The customer service managers told my wife that they could not physically cancel even though we contacted them on Sunday and the meals ship on a Thursday. This company is a crime ring out to steal your money. beware. stay away. I want my money back.

    I received an email with a coupon code so I checked out the website. All I did was look around at their menu items and the payment options. A few hours later I got an email from my bank saying that I had authorized $40 to go to Green Chef. I KNOW for a fact that I didn't buy anything and would've had to go through the "cart" and enter my ****************** information and I didn't do that. This company really doesn't seem legitimate. However, I went on their website the next date spoke with a representative through "chat". I told him that I hadn't authorized the purchase and he immediately refunded my money. No other questions were asked. That seems fishy to me. I do not recommend!!!

    They processed the second-week payment BEFORE I Could even get my first-week delivery and realize how little food they had for four people. I called them, and they refused to revert the transaction even though it was scheduled to be shipped in 7 days. Fraud seems to be part of their business model.

    Dont do it! You need to be extremely cautious when you sign up. They automatically select meals to ship for you without any warning. Then they refuse to cancel your order even if it hasnt been shipped due to their ridiculous policy. I warned you, stay away!

    Do not order from this company!I signed up on October 22 and realized right away that I couldnt afford it. So I canceled my account immediately. My account showed that it was deactivated. On October 28, my bank account was debited for the canceled charges which I noticed when I got home from work at 7pm. I looked at the *** for this issue which said I needed to call **************** so they could assist me. However, the office was closed so I called back first thing this morning, October 29. I was told that I needed to call to cancel my order at least 7 days before the scheduled delivery on November 4. I explained that I had tried to call but the office was closed. I explained that I am a senior citizen who mistakenly signed up and had canceled immediately. I asked for a refund. I was told that they are not allowed to give refunds. I did everything I needed to do to cancel my account and stop the delivery I dont want and cant afford. Im extremely disappointed in the companys customer service.
