I've been with Yahoo Mail for a long time so it's hard to get rid of it all together let me state that first. I'm receiving so many spam emails I block and do everything to get rid of them it's like 40 a day and it's coming from the same people I've contacted yahoo over and over even sending resending every spam back to them they respond with robots this is an invasion of privacy and illegal! I have had my yahoo address over 10 years...since early 2000. I've been accessing it mostly via my phone and automatic log in on my laptop. however, recently due to identity theft, I changed my phone number and logged out of the account on my laptop. Now, they are requiring 2-step verification to log back in. As my phone # associated with that is no longer active and my back up email didn't get any notice, I called customer support to verify my identity, as it requested to be the next step. After 10 minutes of verification, then they asked for money to get into the account,said it was a Premium Customer Support. This is the most ridiculous service ever to force people to pay $12/mo to get access to their email now. This is the worst business decision by Yahoo management! Please remove this option before your business cease to exist like AOL!!Business Response

Have had an e-mail account for over 20 years. On 1/3/23 my account was un-available for my usage because of unusual activity?. The only means I had available to reenter my account was through a phone number ************ which I haven't had for about 8 years. I called the yahoo help line(which is a paid service), customer support, and chat. All of these services explained that were not authorized to help me. I asked who was authorized to help me but nobody could give me an answer. On one of the calls I was asked to recite recent emails which I did but that was not acceptable. I asked about security questions ( former high school, mothers maiden name, first pet's name etc.) but was told they are no longer used for identification. I told them my old telephone number ************ but the only way to identify me was through a text to that number which I had don't have access. . I continued to call their help service number which was different every time. I was finally told that my constant calling was unusual activity.
what I want is:
1)someone in management who is authorized to heip me
2)the ability to prove who I am
3)Give me a date to get back into my account for:
tax season
secure my 20 years of contacts
address any recent correspondence which I have missed.
I find it unreasonable that a company the size of yahoo has no customer support paid or otherwise that can assist the consumer or direct to upper management.

I recently got a new phone and have tried signing into yahoo. It keeps popping up with a page where it leads me to their support page. It tells me to sign in and pay money to contact them. I use my phone number to sign in but it still keeps on saying that I need to try again in a while or it just won't let me sign in. Email address was hacked resulting in being completely locked out of original email address and bank accounts being drained. The email address had many emails with sensitive information that could be used for identity theft. Contacted customer support within 48 hours of issue ocurring.
We had to pay to even access customer support using Yahoo Plus. We cannot call to the support number as we are outside of the USA and had to use the email functionality. The customer service agents were unhelpful and kept re-directing us to their support page which has no helpful information and the whole reason we paid to access customer support in the first place. After 2 responses, it seems like my request for help was closed.
They did not even attempt to inquire more about my issue and disregarded the severity of the situation. The email address did not only contain personal ID documents from the original owner but of their family as well.Business Response

Yahoo Fantasy Sports didn't provide an answer to the question or to their promotion of providing fair play. In their fine print they promote action to be taken if fair play is compromised, they didn't perform any actions or solutions per their policy.
Their response that they don't provide action to a third party. No one is asking for information on actions taken beyond providing a fair game to its customers which they didn't provide per their policy.
If you decide to enter a Yahoo Fantasy Sports contest in which you provide a fee. Expect a lack of communication when issues develop along with a canned answer for every issue. Not a way to run a business or a contest.

Locked out of my account forever I guess? Entered my password correctly just to be prompted to verify the account. Asks me to type in the full recovery email address, which is a deactivated AOL email. I click "try another verification option" just to be directed to their paid service. Posted my inquiry to their useless social media, where a representative says to send them information. All they do is direct me to the paid support option. Multiple users in the threads have also informed me that even with the paid subscription to their customer care, they will not help. I'm not wasting my money. If I know my password (that is correct, according to Yahoo), and I can fully type the redacted recovery email, that should suffice. This is a 15 year old account, which contains multiple recovery emails for other accounts. The trail is too long to just "make a new account" as they suggest. This doesn't just affect my yahoo account, this locks me out of multiple accounts that are attached to that email.Business Response

In Yahoo! News comment sections, when I like or dislike a comment, the like or dislike is added but then disappears. For example, if a comment has one like, and I add another, two dislikes show for only a short time. Then, the number changes back to one. I do not enter duplicate likes or dislikes, so that isn't the explanation. I went to the Yahoo! Contact ** page and found only an offer to pay a monthly fee for assistance. I tried again and was prompted to enter a Yahoo ID. I kept receiving the message "Please enter a valid Yahoo ID," even though I had just done that. I tried the "Forgot" link and was prompted to change my password. After changing it, I received the same message as before.Business Response

The concerns I raised have not been resolved. I received an initial email from Yahoo News, but without follow-up or a resolution.
A Yahoo News representative emailed me with three suggestions. He said that if those suggestions didn't work, I would need to provide screenshots of the issues I experienced.
Since the suggestions were ineffective, I sent in the screenshots. The representative replied, saying the first issue was being monitored. However, he didn't give me any indication that it would be resolved, and if so, when. I followed up for clarification but didn't hear back.
The representative indicated that the second issue had been forwarded to other staff. Since then, I haven't heard back.Business Response

As with other complainants, On 12/31/2022 I was suddenly locked out of my yahoo email service. I did not change any passwords, the issue occurred suddenly. After following all prompts on yahoo mail's website to attempt to regain access I was put into an endless loop of attempting to reset a password. After multiple attempts I was no longer allowed any more tries and was directed to call a help line which was paid help. After finally getting a human on the line I was told that i need to wait 24 hours or pay for help.

Nowhere does it say I HAVE to use PAID customer service support to unlock my account- I HAVE 2 factor authentication and am using another email to verify and STILL HAVE TO PAY. This email is attached to my Apple ID, iCloud, Facebook, Snapchat- ALL MY SOCIAL MEDIAs. It is INSANE that after authenticating I STILL have to pay them to authenticate it more? Fix this!!! I'm not paying yahoo- it's free, if I could afford to throw away 13$ I wouldn't choose to spend it on this, I'd spend it on my kids. Id rather delete my social medias and NEVER use yahoo for anything again- and make sure my family and friends know that yahoo will force you to give them money- one way or another. And this hasn't happened a week or two after establishing accounts. It's been awhile. Thanks yahoo! If yahoo wants to HELP LOCK ME OUT OF THE ACCOUNT THEYRE NOT LETTING ME UNLOCK VIA THE WAY THAT IM SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO- contact the email left or phone.
