    Not recommended for small businesses - Account Closing lacks proper investigation and transparency Stripe terminated my account on June 13th, following the receipt of a second payment from a client. Stripe reimbursed the customer's second payment. However, as of 7/31, they have continued to change the payout date of the first payment to a later date. They have not credited my account or refunded the initial money to the client. As such, I am stuck with a potential write-off.Stripe sent an email with the following language regarding the closure of my account:"Our systems recently identified charges that appear to be unauthorized by the customer, meaning that the owner of the card or bank account did not consent to these payments. This means that we can no longer accept payments."To support the legitimacy of the transaction, an email was forwarded from the customer to the ******************** team. The Stripe customer support team claimed that they had investigated and reached the same conclusion. The "investigation" lacked details and transparency. The interesting part is that the transaction can only go through if the customer provides the credit card information, and I never know what the credit card number is. Something doesn't seem quite right, and I can understand why other merchants hint at unethical practices by Stripe.There is no phone help, and the customer service department has ceased responding to my emails. I only utilized Stripe services since they were one of the platforms that worked with my Zoho Books account. While I am delighted with Zoho Books and their support service, they could not assist me with my Stripe issue. I've switched to a different credit card processor.On June 30th, Stripe posted a response stating they would look into this issue. But as of 10/31/2022 there has be no further communication or resolution and the payout date continues to change.

    Our company has been in business for 40 years, 11 years as a corporation *********************** Recently a customer purchased a *************************** Rookie Card for ******. After receiving the payment from the customer and mailing (with signature confirmation) the package was signed and picked up.We were then notified by Stripe that this purchase may have been a fraud purchase. Our response was well that is not our problem. We sold an item worth a lot of money and you need to research the person(s) who made the purchase and go after them NOT US. We filed a case with the **** post office and the *** in regards to the person and physical address that they used to purchase this item.Now Stripe is coming after our company for the money. WELL THATS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. We lost a very rare sport card worth more then ****** it was actually on sale for ****** the customer received a discount.We are disgusted on the lack of research that Stripe does on transactions like this. They are a pathetic company with a very low rating and we are sorry we ever chose them.

    Stripe is by far the worst company. They have taken a payment from a resent customer I provided services for and would not release them to me. So, when trying to refund the customer their money. They tell me the I have to have the full amount the customer paid plus $64.90 for fees in my ******************** account. They would not let me make an account with them and they would not release the funds to me without verifying who I was. While after verifying who I was still would not give my customer back their money. They are telling me I have to refund money to my customer out of my own pocket. Another thing is that on stripe's website that it's 2.4% processing fees but tell me I have to pay 3.4%. Their site also said one would be able to contact a representative in customer services 24/7. That is very false. The one time I was able to talk to someone. There was a baby crying in the backround. The person on the phone told me I would have to contact someone of a totally different service and was clueless on what I was explaining to her. Also, the number she gave me to contact was a non-working number.

    Absolutely terrible merchant processor. *** ran a business for 8+ years and never have dealt with this before. My bank debited them for money they had no authority to take, and wouldnt release the funds back. My bank submitted a dispute against them and they took from my balance instead. Any customer can win disputes against you even if services are delivered, and they will say theres nothing they can do. You do a seperate dispute and theyll take from your balance instead of the customer who committed fraud. **************** will continue to drop calls, put you hold, and transfer you until youre exhausted. They will email you with appointment times and never call. No resolutions were made, and service fees are inconsistent. Representatives are rude and unhelpful. Transferring my entire business to square. I wouldnt recommend stripe to anyone.

    Terrible company and customer service!!! After 3 years, account was put on hold for no reason. Submitted all the information they requested TWICE. Received email that they would address within 48 hours. Been days without a response - no phone support, never responds to emails, etc. They are holding mid-six figures and growing every day. Last pay out received was Sept. 27th!!!!

    We started off as ****************** and wanted to accept online payments. We had a huge order from and event that was for ****** dollars. The second that got paid, boom they shut us down. We no longer have the ability to call or chat with them and their email support team takes an eternity. They claimed that we were commuting fraud and that they could no longer support our business. That in itself was a huge pain. But on top of that all of our previous clients got refunds, clients who had purchased months ago, so now we are out a couple thousand dollars and we might need to close our doors very soon. This is very frustrating and unacceptable.

    A stripe seller for four months with no problems, then had a big sale and they cut off payouts! On my account is says 1-2 days to resolve, that was a week ago. They dont answer emails and there is no phone support. I wish Id never signed up with Stripe.

    I started a new business and made my first sale. I was elated and overjoyed. But Stripe ruined it and killed my joy. I was paid by my customer via a virtual credit card. I opened a Stripe account to process the virtual credit card. BIG MISTAKE. Stripe accepted the charge on the virtual credit card and REFUSES to process the payout to my bank account. First they emailed me stating "Were writing to you because were currently unable to access the website thats listed on your Stripe account... As a result, were unable to verify what your business is selling. Unfortunately, we have had to pause payouts to your bank account until we are able to verify what youre selling."I send them another link to my Amazon page and explain that my company is new and working on the website.They reply stating "We recently identified payments on your Stripe account... that dont appear to have been authorized by the customer, meaning that the owner of the card or bank account didnt consent to these payments"If this was true, then how did they charge the virtual credit card and put a hold on the payout?!? I provided the invoice and purchase order documents from the sale. I submitted all of my official documents from the *** and the Secretary of State to Stripe to prove the legitimacy of my business. But now I get no response from Stripe. Stripe is a small business killer. Stripe will kill your joy and motivation. They will steal your money and say "We're here to help".I don't think I will ever see my first payment from my first sale. I invested over $5,000 and countless hours starting this business. After months of labor, I thought I was about to see the fruits of my labor. But no, Stripe will take that away from you. This has been a horrible experience with Stripe.From the other reviews, I can see that Stripe is vile and evil. Somebody needs to investigate this corrupt company. Please, to whoever reads this, STAY AWAY FROM STRIPE!!!
