    The consumer states they are not liable for this debt with Progressive and there is no contract with Caine & Weiner. The consumer does not have a contract with Caine & Weiner. Caine & Weiner is a debt collector that collects on behalf of numerous clients.  The account is in reference to an automobile policy with Progressive. Our records indicate the initial letter was sent November 22, 2022, to the address provided by our client. Validation will be requested today, December 04, 2023, and mailed to the address provided in the complaint.  We will send a request to the credit reporting agencies to note this account as 'Disputed'.  As a 90-year-old company, Caine & Weiner wants to help consumers in any way possible.  We encourage the consumer to call our office at ************ and ask for a manager for further assistance.     Progressive closed my auto insurance account with them due to me not having the vehicle anymore and sent it to collections with Caine & Weiner but they are still reporting late payments to my credit report when the account was closed in 2021. The information they are reporting is inaccurate and is negatively impacting my score. I would like to have them remove this.

    I received a notice that I have a collection from CAINE WEINER on my credit report. It says it was opened on 03/11/2019 for $0.00 with account number starting in ******** that I am not aware of nor am I responsible for. I never went into business with this company or signed any agreements with them so they should not be reporting anything on my credit. This is a violation of my rights as a consumer according to the **** and FDCPA.I would like for this collection to be removed asap or I will file a CFPB and FTC report.

    We have reviewed this complaint, and our records indicate that the account is 'Paid in Full'. We will send a request to the credit reporting agencies to have this account removed from the consumer's credit report.
