To clarify, when someone receives a Giftly, they are receiving a monetary gift with a suggestion for how to spend that money. Different from a traditional gift card, Giftly allows gift givers to suggest a business that they love or is local to a faraway recipient.
After receiving a Giftly Gift, recipients are instructed to visit the Giftly website, where they choose how to receive their money. When a Giftly recipient goes to a suggested business, they pay the full amount for their purchase using any accepted payment method.

I received a gas Giftly Shell card certificate from a friend. In the Giftly site, it said their are three ways to redeem it. One is through a ****** account which I prefer. The certificate would not transfer, and when I called Giftly customer service, they said that they do not honor that gift card--- but they are selling it. To clarify, a Giftly must be redeemed on our website for money. The redemption options available are a bank transfer, a ****** transfer or a physical gift card in the mail. Our records indicate no redemption attempt was made on your gift we never received your ****** information to transfer the funds to.
Your gift was cancelled by the gifter on February 16 and a refund was initiated to them right away. Refunds typically take 3-5 business days to reflect.

We responded the same day asking for you to confirm that we shipped it to the correct address and we received no response. You reached out to us on February 12, 2025 and we responded with the same question. Both communications are attached to this BBB response.
Our records indicate you disputed the transaction with your bank. Please know your gift was refundable through your confirmation email; disputing the charge was not necessary. Unfortunately, were not able to take any further action on the order until the dispute has been resolved and the funds returned to Giftly. When the dispute is closed, we will be more than happy to either resend your gift or cancel the order altogether.

I received a $100.00 gift card from GIFTLY for a company called **********. The gift card was not accepted at the company but had instructions on its website (giftly,com/redeem) to exchange for a **** card or direct deposit to my checking account. I chose the latter and entered the bank information. This was done about 4 days ago. They said the transaction would take 24 hours. No deposit has occurred. I've called and left a message. However, if there is an issue with the transfer, such as an account number typo, it can take a bit longer to process and be sent back to us by your bank. Your funds were sent back to Giftly on February 7; our Support team notified you of this and provided the direct link to re-redeem.

We were gifted a "gift card" from someone who used Giftly as the platform. First of all, on the gift card and website, it is not mentioned anywhere that this is NOT a gift card for use at different vendors but instead a "credit" that can be wired to your account between 2-10 business days. So after we were already at the restaurant, I was forced to pay out of pocket instead of using this "gift card". Afterwards, my "credit" was promised in 2-3 business days. Well it's been 6 days and they are flat out refusing to give me my credit. **************** (if you can call it that) has been entirely unhelpful and has basically stolen $250 dollars from the person who "gifted" us this money.Business Response

I own a hotel and restaurant called the ***************. A customer purchased a gift card through ********************** and came into my restaurant and wanted to use it. I have never signed up or authorized Giftly to sell my gift cards for goods and services. Now the customer is upset with my company because we did not honor some unknown gift card that is beingin sold by a 3rd party and receiving payment for those gift cards on our behalf. I don't even know how or if we would get paid if we accepted the gift card. Not sure what time of scam operation they are running, but they cannot sell my gift cards without my permission. Supposed to be a **** gift card you can use anywhere. Got it from a customer. Used it at gas stations and ***** steak out. Went to use the rest of the balance at a restaurant. Balance was *****, declined for that amount and tried lower amounts, all declined. The registration processes is ridiculous and data mining as it is. Were so sorry to hear of the trouble with your gift card. The physical gift card you received is a generic pre-paid gift card that should be able to be used anywhere that accepts **** as payment.
When customers pay with a credit card, some merchants (like restaurants) add a 20% charge authorization on top of the bill assuming they will tip. On a gift card, it can cause the card to be declined if the total amount of the charge authorization exceeds the cards balance. Giftly attempts to alert cardholders to this possible issue by including a note in the confirmation email you received when redeeming.
In checking your card, the transactions from the service-based merchants were being run for more than the available balance, which was causing the declines. We're unable to reimburse for a partially used gift card. However, if you'd like to avoid the 20% authorization hold issue altogether, you will want to use your remaining balance at a regular retail store.
