I opened a Yelp business account and unknowingly subscribed to their ad campaign through a one-month free trial. I was not clearly informed that the free trial would automatically convert into a paid subscription at $390 per month. As a result, I was charged for four months (approximately $1484) without my informed consent.When I discovered the charges, I immediately requested a refund from Yelp. However, my request was denied. I find this unreasonable and unfair, as I did not knowingly agree to recurring charges of this amount.I am requesting a full refund of all charges made after the free trial period (approximately $1484)and confirmation that my business account will not incur any future charges.Yelps handling of this matter feels deceptive and not transparent to small business owners. I am formally filing a complaint against Yelp for their refusal to remove a defamatory and fabricated review posted about our business.Our company has been targeted by a malicious review that contains verifiably false claims, directly harming our reputation and operations. This is not a matter of opinion or poor experience it is a deliberate misrepresentation of events, and we have extensive, irrefutable evidence to prove it.We contacted Yelp through all proper channels and submitted a detailed dispute, including:Phone records showing no interaction with the individual as claimed Security camera footage from the dates mentioned, showing no such incident occurred Computer records and documentation proving the individual has never been a customer Despite this compelling evidence, Yelp has refused to remove the review, citing content guidelines and user-generated content policies. Their unwillingness to consider or acknowledge the validity of our evidence is unacceptable. Yelp likes to perform bait and switch tactics to get more money but provide less results. I have been working with Yelp for one year and wow what an expensive and time consuming headache. Reviews continuously falling off, as fast as you it, it will fall off in ***** hours.I increased me budget $900 a month for a promised estimated 302 clicks increased from 184. After the increase my ad campaign reset and could take ***** days to work correctly as they stated. Since this switch the highest click rate I received was for 154 clicks, 30 less than what I was getting before???Yelp has done nothing besides bonus ads that just blow you up with bots or spammers, Ive lost sleep, stress bubble guts, etc. I have not been this slow than when I first started using them! Lead sharing no limitation on letting people advertise in the same area. One rep stated I should price/mystery shop these competitors to make sure I am beating their price! They dont care about you or your business success. I am planning on taking my business elsewhere where and have reduced my budget with them immediately! I know they will not do anything about this and there is so much more details and facts I can go over but not enough time or characters remaining. Anyone reading this run! I received the following notification from Yelp: Message from Yelp HQ: ******** In that message they advised my review was being removed because it was unclear if I visited the business. After more than a decade and more than 1000 reviews, I know the rules and for what must be the 25th time, Yelp has removed my content without reaching out to me, or following their own policy as my review clearly pointed out, "When we arrived the place was vacant". So to be crystal clear, we showed up, based on the Yelp page, and the business didn't exist and there was no signage advising they moved or were remodeling and that again, was the foundation for my review. I'm tired of being played with and not respected as I am a top local contributor, if a business has closed be it permanent or temporary, It's their responsibility to shoulder that event and the best we can do as consumers and reviewers is report it. Leave my reviews alone, they are accurate, honest and up to date. Otherwise, compensate me for driving an hour to check out a business to review only to find it does exist. Complaint Summary:I am a small business owner in the locksmith industry Car *****************. ******************************** accredited and an advertiser on Yelp. I rely on Yelp's platform for visibility and to generate customer leads. Recently, I received a service request from a potential customer through **********************. The individual requested that I make a new car key. However, during the process, it became clear that the situation was potentially illegal. The customer was arrested and detained, and the car keys involved are evidence in a criminal investigation. Police took keys from customer.Due to these circumstances, I made the decision to refuse service to the customer to protect my business and remain compliant with the law. In response, the customer became verbally abusive, yelling at me over the phone before hanging up.Shortly afterward, the customer posted a defamatory and inappropriate review on my Yelp business profile, which included calling me an "idiot." I received a review on Yelp after I was engaged to do an appraisal for a lender. The borrower (who was not my client) was unhappy the lender stopped responding to his messages and decided to take it out on me, the appraiser. The borrower never even received a copy of my appraisal because he is not my client, therefore, was never in receipt of my services. He wrote a false review with several lies in it. I tried to report the review and asked Yelp to remove it, citing he was not a recipient of my services (his lender was), and his review contained many lies. I tried to provide written proof via emails between the reviewer and I, proving the reviewer was not my client and that he lied in his review. Yelp wouldnt consider the written proof and wont remove the review. Then, I received another review from an actual customer that gave me 5 stars and *********************** software hid this review. Ive already tried to contact Yelp via their system but theyve been extremely unhelpful. I would like BBB to assist me with getting this resolved, including removing the false review and unhiding the actual review.Business Response

I recently engaged with Yelp's trial promotion, which seemed appealing at first. However, I encountered significant challenges with their cancellation process. Despite following the trial terms, I was charged substantial monthly fees once the trial period ended. This practice, in my opinion, is unethical, and the advertising services provided have not yielded the expected results. I strongly recommend that Yelp reassess their business model and improve transparency regarding trial cancellations and ongoing charges.Business Response

Back in 2024, there was a promotion where yelp would market our information and services for just $110. But our services were promoted incorrectly, so we notified Yelp for misrepresentation of our services and we asked to cancel their services . This was back in October 2024 . We recently discovered that our card had been maxed out and began receiving calls from yelp regarding payments. We would like to dispute all yelp transactions, as they are unauthorized due to our request for cancellation. We have contacted Yelp with our request to reverse charges . Representative from Yelp told as that they will not do that and suggested to talk to credit card company and which we did. We have filed dispute though our credit card company which is ******** **** card. Also very Important YELP never sent as their intend to charge $850 nor sending Invoice to as and letting us know of charges . Yelp is still trying to charge our card for $2,250 that they sent to their collection department . We did notify **** of Fraudulent activity from YELP. I am rejecting this response because:We have never authorized $840 charge for every month since November 2024. The charges for Yelp advertisement and marketing were told to be at $110 by Yelp personnel which we authorized. We have never received any agreements or Invoices from Yelp in regards the monthly charges and for any future increases in monthly payments. We are asking to reverse all charges of $840 since November 2024 to June 2025 .
This is misrepresentation and false advertisement. Please see the attached letter which also was submitted to *********/Visa
We need this to be resolved by Yelp and we need our credit back of $840 from 11/2024 to 06/2025
