I was told by **** ******* (Yelp **** that I did not have to pay anything up front. He ended up signing me up for some additional packages that I did not agree to and four days later, my business bank account had been charged. Apparently they charge every time you answer an inquiry from a "lead". I was never told this and these "leads" seem fake to me. I emailed him to tell him about the issue and he took no responsibility. He said to call someone else. I did. That *** was helpful and sent me a charge dispute form. Hopefully I get my money back, but it's not likely per all the other ***orts. I feel like a sucker.

All these reviews on here about Yelp taking advantage of businesses... but there is an entirely different side to their unethical business practices. Consumer reviews that are real are reviewed by their "algorithm" and removed, or so they say, when that is anything but the case, especially when you can see long time Yelp users reviews being moved to the "not recommended" section or completely deleted. Their attention to their "terms of service" is a joke when they continue to allow incentivized reviews to stick on their platform. All it takes is a completely irate business feeling threatened by consumers to threaten legal action in order to get reviews moved that are not in favor of them. It would also seem that they protect companies that go viral for racism, because they don't want to be caught in the middle. Great job Yelp. You manage to show favoritism to both business and consumers, depending on which benefits you more, and people are really starting to notice

I could have four different customers leave me legitimate ****** reviews, and Yelps system hides them claiming it's because of their "algorithm." But somehow, the moment a bad review comes in, its displayed immediately and permanently.Their review filtering feels completely one-sided, and it's frustrating as a business owner trying to build a good reputation through real ********** for the leads they offer absolutely not worth the money. Most of the leads are either unresponsive, not serious, or already contacted multiple other pros. It feels like theyre more focused on draining your budget than actually helping your business grow.I do not recommend Yelp for small businesses. They just want your money.

This place retrieves your business info for their directory against business owner requests to not have their business included. They have created a business without a mandatory law to require businesses inclusion. This directory has been made public, and profiting by strong arming small businesses into their advertising scheme. Having public information should not be used to profit from, especially against the owners consent.

As a business owner and marketing professional, I feel compelled to share my experience with Yelp to help other business owners make informed decisions.I signed up for what was promoted as a Free Business Listing. However, shortly after, I was charged over $200 for Yelp Ads and Upgrades - none of which I knowingly enrolled in or authorized. There was no clear indication during the sign-up process that a paid trial or automatic enrollment in advertising was part of the free listing. When I reached out to customer service for clarification, I was told that I must have entered my credit card specifically to activate Ads. Yet, when I asked how to remove my card (since I clearly did not want the Ads), I was told that a credit card is required for the Free Business Listing and that it cannot be removed from the account. This was both contradictory and extremely frustrating.I was assured that everything would be canceled and that I would receive confirmation - but so far, Ive received nothing. The entire process has felt deliberately opaque, and I now believe this system is designed to mislead small business owners into paid services without clear consent or *************** someone who also runs a marketing business and advises clients regularly, I cannot ethically recommend Yelp. Trust, transparency, and respect for small businesses are essential - and unfortunately, my experience with Yelp has demonstrated a lack of all three.I hope this review helps others avoid a similar situation.

I am writing to formally express my complete dissatisfaction regarding a billing issue I have experienced with Yelp in the last 2 weeks. I was recently charged for services that I did not authorize after I had canceled my account with them in which they made me cancel in 3 different areas on their website to actually close out my Only account. I am deeply concerned about the lack of transparency and support I received when attempting to resolve this matter & on top of that I asked to speak to a supervisor & was told it would be 5 to 10 business days before I would receive a call from them. I find this unacceptable in terms of business & the amount of money I've shelled out for fake leads. I find their business practices appaulling & I don't recommend anyone using them for leads or website exposure. I will file a complaint with my credit card company explaining what nonsense I have gone through. Save yourself & don't waste your money here.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding a billing issue I have experienced with Yelp. I was recently charged for services that I did not authorize, and I am extremely concerned about the lack of transparency and support I received when attempting to resolve this matter.I had several questions about the billing process and requested clarification multiple times. Unfortunately, I was either misled or given incomplete and unsatisfactory information. At no point did I knowingly agree to the charges that were applied, and I believe I have been billed without proper consent.I respectfully request a full explanation of the charges in question and a review of the authorization process that led to them. I am also requesting an immediate refund for any unauthorized charges. Please consider this my formal complaint, and I expect a timely and thorough response. If I do not receive a resolution within a reasonable timeframe, I will consider taking further steps to dispute the charges and report the issue to the appropriate consumer protection agencies.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

Whatever you do don't list your business with yelp. They take down legit reviews for no reason to leave up bad ones that are done out of spite from people who weren't even clients. You have to pay a bunch for ads to get noticed but then you still don't get noticed near as much as they promise you and then they constantly are upselling more perks to get more interest to where you're spending it gregarious amount of money. They then will give you business leads and I say that term very loosely because most the leads are scammers and they won't refund your money and they charge you a ton of money for leads that aren't verified legit and what I say that it's not because I didn't get the job it's because They were straight up scams They were going to give me the job supposedly but then all sudden some real weird s*** was going on every time and it's the same formula it's ridiculous I wouldn't trust their reviews I wouldn't use them for your business They **** and they're expensive as h*** No wonder they're not BBB accredited

I got a 1-star review from someone who literally messaged me and admitted they left it for the wrong business. I reported it TWICE. No response. I called them they told me to submit a report. I told them I already did. Still nothing. Its been OVER A MONTH.Their support team is a joke. They just repeat useless, scripted phrases and do absolutely nothing. Its like talking to a wall. How do you expect small businesses to trust this platform when your staff cant even handle a simple, obvious mistake?

Yelp does not allow you to remove any listings. When you do not want to be a part of their platform. You do not have an option. It is the worst company. When you call to get any support, there is no support. Incredible.
