BAT is a complete scam. I listed my car on it with a reserve and the car sold over reserve. The "buyer" never performed and BAT got paid a "buyers" fee of $4550 even though the car sale never happened. I asked them for the deposit as I am the aggrieved party and they offered to refund my listing fee. Stay clear of this shady operation as they are nothing more than ********** with a 5% buyers premium fee. They should be sued for class action status as I'm sure this has happened multiple times to sellers. Total ********....

Attempted to sell there, and was refused despite much worse condition, far less desirable models being listed before, during and after my listing request. After reading the reviews here, and watching certain youtubers review their purchases, it's nothing more than a fantasy. The only amenity they offer, is appearing on their domain, nothing else. It's advertising people, nothing else.Head to marketplace or *********** They only let their friends list vehicles on the site.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your vehicle and we are sorry that we won't be moving forward with a listing. BaT is a curated marketplace and we unfortunately cannot accept every vehicle that is submitted for consideration. Niche items like scooters, motorbikes, memorabilia, parts, etc. comprise a relatively small percentage of what we list on the site, which unfortunately means we often have to pass on a lot of neat ones. We appreciate the merits of your submission, but with our current volume the team simply decided to move forward in a different direction. This does not mean that your vehicle isn't desirable, and hopefully we will have the opportunity to work together in the future.

I recently received a vehicle bought from BAT, to do repairs that were hidden from the sellers photos. This ****** Land Cruiser, was restored and looks fantastic, however the work under the hood is a nightmare. First off, the added power steering system pump had a homemade bracket where the 2 pulleys didnt line up, not even close despite being only inches apart. In fact one pulley is so bent, it rubs on the bottoms radiator hose and caused a leak the first day the vehicle was dropped off at the buyers home. The aluminum radiator is aftermarket and is very loose, its only mounted by two bolts on the top and crammed into the existing factory bracket, METAL ON METAL, no rubber mounts. It would be just a matter of time before it will crack or leak. The radiator fan is plastic and was (poorly) ground down to fit the shroud. The radiator also is resting on top of the newly installed power steering hoses??? They need relocating for obvious reasons. The list could go on, but I think I made my point. I know nothing about this website until now. I checked over the site and I couldnt find anywhere where buyers could leave reviews on vehicles they have purchased. I see the seller of this ****** has sold multiple vehicles in the past. A simple buyer review would likely deter someone else from spending a lot of $$$ with dishonest sellers, they should be weeded out somehow.

We are sorry to hear you've run into problems with the vehicle you purchased through us. We have a dedicated post-auction support staff, and we certainly expect all sellers to disclose known flaws with the vehicles they are selling. We would love to hear from you directly via ******************************* so we can discuss this in more detail.

I purchased a vehicle through Bring a Trailer auctions and contracted with them to ship the car. As you would expect the charging of my credit card for BAT's commission and shipping fee went through just fine. As I did not expect, that is where their performance really fell apart. It has been over a week now and they still have not contracted a shipper to deliver my car. This is not rocket science, so I'm very surprised that it appears so difficult. They also have not communicated with me about a cancellation of a delivery date and the re-scheduling of a new date. I have had to contact them repeatedly to try and find out what the status is, and all I am told is they are working on it. I cancelled my shipping request with them as this level of customer service is miserable at best. I strongly suggest they stick to the auction business and leave the shipping to those who know what they are doing. I do not recommend anyone using their shipping non-service!!!

We are sorry that you have had difficulty with our shipping service. We work diligently to schedule shipments in a reasonable time frame, though at times cancellations and rescheduling does occur for reasons outside of our control. We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope we have the chance to earn your business in the future.

Part of me LOVES Bringatrailer.com. THey have great information, interesting auctions, and the concept is wonderful. I bought a car on it and it was a smooth transaction. HOORAY!!! FIVE stars. BUT They do not police their sellers. I won an auction for a motorcycle, and paid ****************** in full for the motorcycle. Shortly thereafter, my son was hospitalized. Without any notice, they sold the bike elsewhere. When I reached out to them later they claimed they had a right because storage fees. WHICH THEY NEVER told me in advance. When I discussed it with BaT they were like, Oh, ***** to be you. No help. ANd when I try to post information on the sales from ****************** (who has not been sanctioned in any way), they don't allow my posts. So yeah. No stars. Average, 3, Caveat Emptor. Crooks. *********************************

We have corresponded with this customer and the seller of the motorcycle in question, and while we empathize with this customer's situation with their son, it does seem clear that the motorcycle's seller DID in fact communicate to this customer that the motorcycle would be subject to storage fees after a specified length of time, and when this customer did not respond, elected to sell the motorcycle per the terms of the sales contract.

After reading the many reviews pertaining to ***, it further confirms our own unpleasant experience. See below:1. **************** is HORRIBLE. Good luck getting them to answer emails in a timely manner.3. The individual's who are managing *** appear to be computer/tech savvy, but seem to have little to zero experience with selling vehicles. These are the people who are listing your prize possessions & forcing low reserves, or they will not list. Why? Who are these people? High school students working a summer job? College students working a side hustle? The millennial sitting in Mom's basement?4. The ************* is riddled with users who live on the message boards leaving senseless comments that are mostly untrue and do nothing but hurt the sale of one's vehicle. We recently listed a vehicle. No reserve. It sold for way too low. So low that the person who won it was shocked. But, fair and square the winning bid got the vehicle. Some of the comments were very damaging to the sale & had NOTHING to do with the validity of the vehicle. If the comments were true and held merit, then that would have been one thing, but this was not the case.We then decide to give *** another shot. Well, as we have seen from other sellers' reviews, there tends to be issues with vehicle titles, or proof of ownership. Where I see the disconnect in selling with ***, they should get all of this information upfront from the seller. A lot of very nice vehicles that are worth boatloads of money are being listed and sold on this site daily. There are far too many trolls wishing that the said vehicle was theirs. In our case, this wack-job contacted *** and said that the vehicle we were selling was theirs. LOL... WOW. With ZERO proof! Yet, ***, decided it was in the best interest of the seller and potential buyer to remove the listing. What a HUGE WASTE OF TIME!!! And the decision was made even after we sent proof of ownership! We are done with ***.View less

BaT seemed like the perfect website to sell my truck, until you realize that they are a business trying to make a profit of your property. Bidders on my auction listing claim their last bid didnt go thru, and BaT team thinks its ok to disregard just because their system shows no technical issues at their end during auction. ****** was clearly interested in winning auction according to the comments he posted after auction was over. BaT denied this potential highest bidder and myself the possibility of making a deal outside of BaT since they will not share our contact info due to their nonsense policy. Im just glad my truck didnt sell at their ridiculously low suggested reserve, thank you BaT for being part of the process of keeping my beloved truck.

Of course we never like to see interested parties say they had trouble placing a bid during an auction, though there are many variables outside of our control that can contribute to a bidder's inability to bid - including internet connection problems, incorrectly registered payment information, and others. As noted, a review of our system during this auction indicates that the site operated normally. In fairness to the buyers and sellers on our site, when an auction has ended on BaT, the seller is provided with only the highest bidder's contact information upon auction close. After that hand-off, it is up the two of them to finalize the deal and BaT is no longer involved of the sales process. We cannot connect lower bidders or other users to facilitate sales after the auction has ended, as this has the potential to undermine the fairness and transparency of the BaT auction process.

The BaT experience is awful. They gave little support to me as a single, non-dealer seller. They have repeatedly allowed high volume sellers to trash people whose comments they dislike and remove any attempts to reply. They protect the high-volume dealers at all costs. The site has become nothing more than a way for dealers to buy used luxury cars at wholesale auctions, detail them and then whip crowds into a frenzy to extract undeserved premiums for used auctions with no real history or documentation except a CarFax. If you are white glove or high volume, your claims are largely unchecked, and your vehicle descriptions are much more favorable.

We ask users to keep the dialogue constructive and focused on the vehicle at hand. Comments that fall outside of our commenting rules, are often quick to get flagged by our community. We also reserve the right to monitor our comment sections and remove comments that are personal attacks or comments that violate our rules. We apply the same rules and processes to all site users, whether they are private party sellers, dealers, bidders, or just commenting without participating in the auction itself. Our auction listings are written with the information available to us. That inherently means that a listing written for a dealership sale may be less detailed, as they do not have lengthy personal ownership history with the vehicle. That doesn't mean those descriptions are more favorable; in fact, the additional disclosure and transparency afforded by personal ownership history adds value to a vehicle.

BAT will support the dealer and NOT the consumer. That is their revenue stream. I purchased a car that cost $3,000 to repairs. Consumer beware and spend time reading between the lines and inspect what you are purchasing. BAT will be of no help.

We are sorry to hear that you have run into issues with the vehicle you bought at auction. Having reviewed the information available to us and the response from our customer service staff, it looks like we have done everything in our power to try and resolve this for you as fairly as possible. There are always risks involved in any used car purchase, and we do recommend that all bidders review the listings closely, ask questions of the seller, and bid to their comfort level based on the information available to them. Based on the timeline we have and the response from the seller, it does not appear that the car was misrepresented in any way or otherwise not as-advertised. We wish you the best of luck with the repairs and hope you can enjoy the car going forward.

Bring A Trailer at one point was a decent place to list a vehicle for sale. The vast majority of people were car enthusiasts with knowledge and passion for the hobby. This applied to most dealers as well. Today that is not the case. The auctions are now frequented by the same trolls that go from auction to auction asking ridiculous questions, insinuating all kinds of nonsense, and generally just attempting to destroy the desire for any particular vehicle that is being auctioned. BAT does absolutely zero to attempt to curb that abuse. No way would I ever list a vehicle on this site. And I do have personal experience on that avenue as well.

Thank you for your feedback, and we appreciate your input on our comment sections. Our open commenting system is not perfect, though we've found it offers the best balance of transparency and accessibility, and it is a key component of what has made BaT successful over the years. Having all of the potential concerns laid out and discussed is what provides users the confidence to bid, as buying a car sight-unseen can feel like a risky endeavor for any user. We understand that process can sometimes seem ****** critical, but to a potential bidder any and all information, no matter how trivial, can only help.We receive thousands of comments per day, and we rely on the community to flag any comments that cross the line. We do have a team that monitors the comment section as well, and we do not permit comments that violate our commenting rules, are personal attacks, include profanity, etc. Someone being obnoxious with their opinion is always borderline, but thats why we empower the community to help decide what to do with them with the use of the "flag as non constructive" tool.Thank you again for your input on our site, and we hope to work with you again in the future.
