I was signed up for a reoccurring fee of $55 for several months (at least July through December). I did not sign up for a recurring fee or membership nor do I believe I would have. I contacted the company via e-mail and a refund was refused.Business Response

I was seeking to talk to a Psychologist about some mental health issues, and just answer came up on ******* At first you talk to an ** assistant to get started. I described my issues I was experiencing, and the ** said it could transfer me to a Psychologist. It also mentioned that there was a $5 fee and later a $50 monthly fee if you decide to use the service or something like that. When I got transferred, I thought I was entering a live chat. Alas, this was not the case, as it automatically posted it as a question and (which I didnt even ask). I was charged the $50, and then told that I had to pay a premium to get a private consultation. After not helping me the expert left the chat and told me to contact customer support. I have reached out repeatedly to customer service for a refund but they refuse to help or acknowledge any of what Im saying. I thought I was going to get a live chat as per the ai assistant, but instead when it transferred me to a live person, it automatically took me to post a question which I didnt know I was doing, yet alone publicly. I feel scammed and mislead and like they used false advertising to trick me into paying $55 for a service that turned out not to be a service at all. I wasnt even aware that they would charge the $50 right away. I would like a refund.Business Response

In my first chat with ******* when I asked the cost, I was told $5 and refundable. I then agreed to the $40 monthly charge assuming it was refundable, to find out it wasn't. I was not able to get help with my problem. I asked about a problem with a yard tool with a small motor and was told it's unfixable. I would have happily paid for a solution, but I assumed if I couldn't get help I could get a refund. I am requesting a refund of at least $40.Business Response

I was having car trouble and went online to see if I could get any guidance. I came across just answer and typed in my question to what I assume was an AI chat. I then was redirected with a message saying that if I paid one dollar I could get answers from an expert. ******** did I see that this would lead to a thirty dollar charge which would end up being a recurring payment if I did not cancel. This should have seemed to good to be true, but I was in a rush trying to get the issue with my car resolved. Once I saw that I was being charged $30 I immediately canceled my subscription. Seeing other complaints on BBB it is clear that this is a recurring problem, and the fact that this business has not updated there sign up method makes me highly suspect that this is predatory practice. I feel there needs to be a much more transparent process for sign up.Business Response

While reviewing my checking account online I observed charges of $46.00 debited by Just Answer from Jul-Nov 23. I had no idea who or what Just Answer was. On 9 Nov 23 I called their customer service and spoke to *******. I ask why was I being charged. He stated for a question that I had asked. I informed him that I didn't recall asking his company a question in July 23. I asked him to tell me what question I asked, proof that I had asked for membership with them. ******* didn't answer my question. He just kept saying that I was being charged for membership. Another thing is that my bank records reflect that on the 10th of each month my account was routinely debited. I request my membership be terminated immediately. This was on 9 Nov 23. On the same day I canceled membership I check my bank account 2 hours later and notice my account had been debited again for $46.00. THIS ORGANIZATION IS OBVIOUSLY A MONEY HUNGRY SCAM. Went to just answer to ask a legal question. When I was checking out the website claimed it was only going to be $5 for a 7-Day trial after which time I would be charged $46 for a monthly service. Well immediately after they took the $5, almost instantaneously they took another $46. When I called and stated I wanted to cancel I was told that the fees are non-refundable. How did it go from being a $5 7-Day trial to we're going to charge you a $46 fee for your monthly payment basically a nanosecond after taking out the $5 for the 7 Day trial. I was led to believe that I had 7 days to try the service at the $5 rate and at the end of that time if I had not canceled, then I would be charged $46. Woman I spoke to on the phone about this was quite rude and said that the $46 was non-refundable even though I explained it said right on the checkout page it was just $5 for a 7-Day trial. This is ridiculous. How can you charge for an entire month when the 7-Day trial isn't even over yet?Business Response

In April 2023 I was Googling information for repair of my Dyson vacuum cleaner. I expect I might have selected "Just Answer" for a solution, however I cannot remember if they actually provided an answer to my question. I know I would never have paid for an answer nor would I have subscribed to a monthly membership and never on my husband's credit Card (*****************). My husband just asked me what this monthly charge was for and I was shocked to see that he has been charged $53.00 CDN monthly since April for a total of $424.00.CDN...I never knowingly agreed to this membership, I have never used their services and I believe the membership was secured deceitfully and fraudulently. We contacted the company yesterday and although they have cancelled this membership they will not reimburse us. I see that this seems to happen often with this company and I wonder how many others regularly are deceived and robbed by this company. How unethical!!
