This business deceptively charges people more than they expect, and automatically does a recurring subscription fee.I have tried this many times with different questions and the result is the same, I think they are using a chat bot, as the responses to very long questions by these "lawyer's assistants" are almost instant and the final message is always the same, mentioning a $5 charge. The charge is not $5 despite claims everywhere else leading to this interaction except for the fine print where they note a NON-OPTIONAL subscription with an immediate charge of $46 to continue.The claim of it being $5 is 100% bogus. The form itself is meant to hide the fine print information until you have input details and are ready to proceed (pictured), whereby they are counting on people to skip reading this or completely miss it when scrolling down to proceed. This is absolutely meant as a deceptive practice and I can see why nearly all complaints have something to do with not knowing they were being charged that much.Please stop deceptively charging people. And if it is true that you're using ai and labeling it as a lawyer's assistant, or even a lawyer's advice, this is potentially fraud.Business Response

I canceled my subscription beginning of April 2024. It states I would not be charged the $63 on following months. I was charge beginning of May. Sent an email and they refunded that one. Then charged $63 beginning of June. I keep emailing them and they say the email provided is not suppose to be charged and might be another account. I gave them my other email, phone number and last 6 digits of my account it is coming out of and now no response. Very frustrated that they cannot simply remove me based on all that info. All I want from you is to intervene, contact them and remove me from any future charges. Tough time during a recession to have this happen regardless of how small a payment it is.Business Response

I tried to call Best Buy for help with a computer problem, somehow I got directed to this company. They said there was a $1 fee to start the process. I asked a app company called the Lasta App for a refund since they charged me twice and they sent me directly to this Just answer company which said they would charge me a dollar to get me some help and it was completely refundable. But no other information was given about being automatically charge for a non refundable monthly fee of $46 I immediately requested a refund from the person I was chatting with since I received an alert saying I was charged $46 for their services and they quickly exited the chat and sent me a text with a link to request cancellation but no refund was given and no phone number is on either of these two service neither the Lasta app nor the just answer link they sent me to . Contacted company via online for a concern regarding a new coffee system on the 06/16/2024, advertisement stated 1$ which would be refunded ( which wasn't). I asked the question which took awhile to answer, and the answer was ridiculous, then yesterday 06/17/2024 I ws charged the ***** for a" membership " which is the explanation given when I contacted them and it wasn't able to be refunded. A ****** search showed they were a representative of Cub Cadet. I had purchased a cub cadet riding mower with parts missing: 2 bolts. I wanted cub cadet to send me the missing bolts. I explained all this on a form this business had me fill out. The agent said that I had to pay a $5 refundable fee. I paid by credit card. There was a lull and I checked my mail and found that I had just given them $45 for no reason. I mentioned this and a screen came up immediately that said I had joined and would from now on pay $40 a month for their service. I immediately cancelled with no help and no bolts. I checked my citibank account and found that they had not taken off the money they had swindled me out of. They were duplicitous in every way. They never mentioned that I was joining and agreeing to a monthly fee. They were not representatives of Cub Cadet. They were not going to send me the missing part of my cub cadet purchase. I went in to cancel my membership ship back on the 12th and didn't give it a second thought after words but come the 18th I check my bank statement and I was charged and I tried to login to see if my member ship was active it said no but was canceled that morning with out me doing anything. My frustration is with the lack of clarity in this companies pricing structure. It is important for businesses to be transparent and upfront about their fees to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings. By clearly stating the terms and costs from the beginning, customers can make informed decisions and avoid any surprises later on. In this case, it would have been more beneficial for both parties if the $65 fee to discuss the matter with an attorney had been clearly communicated upfront. Justanswer.com is misleading in how they lure in customers. They seem to be saying that for first time users, they will answer a question for $1. They claim when I asked for a refund that in the small print (imperceptible would be how I would describe it), the $1 was to join, and answering a question would cost $66. The way in which they make that as obtuse as possible, so people think they're just paying $1 for the first time using their service, is obvious. My credit card company flagged it as a fraudulent charge, and when I called ******* Bank they said they get many complaints about this company, which is why they flagged it as fraudulent. Further, they did not answer, my question, so they charged me $66 for nothing. I'm surprised that the BBB rating is a 'B' for such a shady operation.Business Response
