17th June 2024 Was looking on the internet for information regarding separation of property for Common-law. Came across a web page with a girl who pops up and asks if she can help with my legal question ?It say lawline or something..so I ask my question and she says it would cost $2.00 to connect me to a lawyer in my area that could answer my question. I said great !I wait a few minutes and another lady pops on the chat and gives my cell a phone call.We talked about my options .Did not really help.And then I see my credit card is charged the $2 and $66.00 I reach out and they tell me I joined the monthly membership!! I am in the same boat as many complaints. I was led to believe that I would get an answer for 2$ within minutes. 45 minutes later and no answer but I do see a charge for 42$ on my bank. I cancelled immediately and would like a refund.Business Response

Ive been receiving monthly charges since February 2024 from this company. I never used any service, never gave any billing info, I have no idea how they are charging me. In fact, when I called the company to cancel my membership, they were unable to locate any account with my info! Yet somehow I am getting charged monthly from this company. I have no other recourse but to dispute the transactions with my bank and hope they block all future attempts to charge my account.Business Response

I started a chat with this company inquiring about a legal question. I was told that it would be a $5 fee. This website is extremely misleading. Once I put in my card info in, I was charged a $5 fee then a separate $43 charge. The agent stated that it was because I asked a question but I was charged the $43 beforehand so why wasnt the $43 charge stated initially? I want a refund for the $43. Since we initiated the cancellation of your deposit so quickly, only an authorization of funds was processed. An authorization is a hold that your card issuer places on your funds and is not an actual charge. You will not receive a credit back to your account since a charge was not processed, but the authorization shown on your card statement should drop off your account by the time you receive your next billing statement, and it'll be as if the transaction never occurred.

They asked me if I wanted to join & I told them no - they still charged me the ***** - my credit card company says it is still on the bill - but they say it was declined. This morning I ******d information to receive an appraisal on a lamp I own. The ****** search led me to a site "JustAnswer.com." The landing page I was taken to is below. No where on the page was any information on what the company did other than appraisals. After chatting with what I was told was an ** appraiser, it was stated that if I paid $5 I would be connected with an expert appraiser who would give me an instant appraisal. I agreed to this, and stupidly entered my credit card and agreed to this. After I was taken to an appraiser who did in fact quickly help me and I gave a 5 star review. Meanwhile, I then received an email stating I was now singed up for an ongoing monthly membership and that I had been charged the $5 plus an ongoing $65 membership fee. I then reached out to the ** chat from my new account telling them I had never seen this membership fee. While typing my concerns, the ** hung up on me and I was told to contact an email address for further concerns. This is when I knew this was a serious scam. The email I received said I had agreed to pay and showed me a "sample screen shot" of what I paid for. Of course, I did not take a screen shot of what I was paying for, but I certainly did not see whatever it is they were showing me an example of. In addition, they showed me a huge list of all the complaints they received. I contacted JustAnswer online on June 16, 2024 thinking they were a service representative for my Hisense AC unit that we purchased in May 2023 from Lowes. They said it would be $5.00 to get an answer for my question, so I put my credit card info online and they had 2 charges on it. One for $5.00 and one for $30.00 for a membership that I didn't enroll in. They just told me the cost would be $5.00. So then I received the text from the service **** ************** that he was going to call me and when he did, I let it ring and did not answer it. Then I text him back and told him his company is a scam and I wanted a refund and my account terminated. I checked my credit card again today and charge is still there. Per their thousand complaints on BBB, they never refund. So now I'm going to call my credit card and issue a fraud complaint on them too like all the complaints you have already received and still have them listed as a BBB certified company. I will also have to cancel my membership that I never agreed to in the first place or they will keep on charging me. Shame on you BBB for misleading consumers!Business Response
