      I needed help with a ****** digital piano. I found myself on what I first thought was a ****** site but it was JustAnswers. I was able to ask an expert for $1! I consented and went ahead and paid. As I was waiting for the expert I thought I had better make sure this isn’t a scam (too late). As I was looking I read that people were charged a membership fee unawares! I thought I had better check. After I was done with the expert I was able to look and sure enough! I was charged for a membership fee! I cancelled right away. I got a hold of the costumer rep and asked for a refund because this was not clearly marked. He sent me a screen shot of the small print and refused to refund me. But it was totally misleading! This is obviously a known issue for them because now I see many other people have found themselves in my shoes according to the BBB complaints. Even just a few days ago. The way it advertises makes it seem like a one time $1 fee. The membership is in small print in the pop up window. I am upset they are not willing to give me a refund though they know this is an issue! It’s bad business. They need to emphasize the membership not ask a question for $1. They should refund me for the membership charge because that was not a service I wanted nor was it made clear that that was what I was signing up for.

      11/12/2024 i asked a question a robot sais it would cost me $1.00 which would be refundable but when i looked at my bank account sure enough the dollar was taken out and $37.00 other dollars to without my consent

      I texted JustAsk website due to an injury my daughter had received while away from home. The prompt told me it would just be 5 dollars to ask a question, and I input my information. After hanging up, I noticed a 66 dollar charge and when I called to dispute, was told that it was very clear in the terms and conditions. No it is NOT. Nowhere did it say that I would be charged that amount. Only the five dollars.

      I saw an ad for JustAnswer on a website. I phoned on June 21st, 2024 to ask a basic question about using my laptop. I was not informed during the phone call that I was purchasing a membership as a result of getting an answer to my question, nor that I would continue to be charged unless I cancelled that 'membership'. Because my life was rather complicated at the time [recent death of my husband and all the subsequent legalities plus an imminent 2 1/2 month trip back to Africa], I did not check on my bank statements until recently. I was shocked to see that, as well as 2 x 2.00 charges by JustAnswer, they charged CAD 66.00 on each of June 25, July 25, August 26, September 25, October 24. I spoke to Beresa at JustAnswer today to complain and ask for a refund for services I have not received, apart from the original 2.00. She refused and offered to cancel my 'membership'. A few minutes later I received an email confirming cancellation of my 'membership'. At the beginning of my phone call today, Beresa asked me whether I had a number available to accept texts. I said No as I did not want to give more information to this company. Almost immediately after my frustrating call, I received a text on my iPhone! Had I given it on my original call in June? If so, why was I asked for it again? I would like to be refunded the CAD 330.
      I regret not looking up credentials of this company in June and checking with BBB then! I believe they operate a scam.

      I am rejecting this response because it is dishonest. The response indicates that JustAnswer is refunding the charges of monthly membership for 5 months + CAD$330.

      Meanwhile JustAnswer sent me an email yesterday November 12th to say they have refunded CAD$ 66 to me through my credit card. This was a 'smoke and mirrors' response.

      I am rejecting this response because, while I appreciate the effort to correct what I regard as unfair charges, I am left wondering how much of those charges will be refunded. If JustAnswer wishes to be regarded by potential clients as a trustworthy business, they need to be transparent. 
      I would have accepted their business response if they had stated they will refund CAD$264 that I believe I am owed, rather than state "additional refund of your charges". I am left wondering whether that means an additional $5 or $20 or $ ....?, on top of the $66 they have already agreed to refund.

      I agree to pay $5.00 to answer a question. I filled out a form and it said I would receive a refund. I was charged the $5.00 on my credit card AND then $55.00. I do not know what this is for. I tried
      to get an answer to my question but did not.

Since we initiated the cancellation of your deposit so quickly, only an authorization of funds was processed. An authorization is a hold that your card issuer places on your funds and is not an actual charge. You will not receive a credit back to your account since a charge was not processed, but the authorization shown on your card statement should drop off your account by the time you receive your next billing statement, and it'll be as if the transaction never occurred.

      On feb 24 I otherised what I belived to be a one time payment for a service. this had a hidden or hard to find membership roll over or something. I asked or believed I was getting a one time charge and then find out it has been going on since Fed of this year 240 was missing. I had no idea who this is and have entered a dispute with my bank. But feel this a scam company that tricks people into signing up for something with the idea that it is a one time act. The signup had nothing that included a month to month service since it was 30 for the one time service which was entered into with an individual over the phone. So you look up online for an expert but this website acks like a go between like it just hooks up experts and people with a one time charge to the individual that person contacts you and then you pay him or her and then you are somehow miraculously a member with no other signup so it looks like a one time deal since the third party is a contractor he just does his end but hidden in that is the sign up but it looks like a signal time payment to a contractor then I paid that no other form was done. I just got it cancelled but I think this is a scam it really is hard to figure out what they are doing but there was no email no confirmation of ongoing bills no updates or msg from them they just disappear except for the bill. I mean they don't want me know about there new service? I get updates from the services I do have and know them. This one is only connected to my phone I never singed up it was a scam thing were the button is hidden then you hit no and it signs up? I have no idea. I just did this and they did cancel my subscriptions but will not refund my 240$ dollars that I think it is taken without my knowledge or consent. Hi,Your membership has been canceled as of today.       Many years ago I used this company to answer one question for 5 dollars ; they delivered and i was charged exactly 5 dollars. Many years later on 11/12/2024. They offer to have my question answered for 5.00. i entered my credit card data expecting to be charged what was quoted ; and they turn around and charge me *****!!! I immediately cancelled ; I didn't even have my questioned answered and they charge me ***** ....Scam please refund me my hard earned money you took away in seconds...thank you BBB you are the best !!!!       I called vet justanswers cause my cat was sick, although I believe the vet was an assistant the only thing they can say is I suggest you take them to a vet.. It was worthless!! But the real problem IS THE MONEY SCAM THE BUSINESS PLAYS ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It advertises free trial and no extra charges if you cancel in a few days, I canceled immediately, then a month or so later they used my card info they stored and tried to pull an auto ach pay from my bank, which thank God marked them as fraud!! I called again, the lady lied like a dog and then finally said she would cancel it again, I asked for a confirmation email, then she said they would still attempt the fraudulent charges, I said no way, my bank reported it as fraud and cancelled my card, what a pain.. but they didn't get to steal my money!! At $35 a pop can add up!! WHAT A ****, **************************.. BEWARE...BEWARE...BEWARE

      In July, 2024 contacted Just Answer on line about some home related issue (I think). They charged me a nominal amount (I believe it was $1.00 to respond to my inquiry. They said it was refundable. They also required a credit card number from me which I gave them. They did not mention that going forward there would be a monthly fee (which started in July as well). As far as I was concerned, the $1.00 charge was one and done. I just happened to be reviewing a recent credit card statement and saw that there was a $55.00 charge from Just Answer. I never agreed to paying this monthly fee. I never received any confirmation that I had agreed to paying any membership fee.To date, I have been billed a total of $275.

      On 9-29-24 at 9:45pm while looking for answers for on how to open a home safe, I stumbled on ************************** account. The search's first four answers for this website. Per a search of their website, I noticed they were manned 24/7 and decided that I needed an immediate answer. I had to pay to post the question at 9:56 am (see attachments) and then waited on the chat for two hours, I finally went to bed. At 4:56 am, I received an answer that was very generic and not for the specific brand I listed in my question. When I got up and saw the email answer, I immediately cancelled the membership. I didn't not get an answer and waited hours for this inadequate answer. It was not 24/7 experts. The web advertising was quite deceptive, and that the sign-up pop-up was too small for me to read properly. At no time was I offered to pay for one question better.
