I find it ridiculous when a charge of 25 usd appeared on my online bank transaction. Without any warnings or notice. I don't have any late payments on my rent and that insufficient fund is my bank's problem that has been resolved on their end before the due date. Paylease/zego is very unprofessional and unethical when it comes to this issue. Very quick in collecting money using my bank details. I'm gonna file a complaint in consumers bureau.

Deceptive fees and outdated user experience. Zego charged $52.00 as a bounce-back fee, *after* I had cancelled the related Automatic Payment related to a bank account I had closed. When I cancelled it, I received an email from them, stating: "Your scheduled AutoPay to your HOA or property management company has been cancelled. No further automatic payments will be made on your behalf. The details of your cancelled AutoPay are below." However, an automatic payment *was* made on my behalf later that day, and they assessed a $52.00 fee. Zego's customer service was unwilling to help.I will be advocating for my property management group to adopt a new payments platform.

Hello, Thank you for letting us know about this situation. We sincerely apologize for the lack of customer support you received, and want to make it right! Our records indicate that the last payment made under your name was from April 5th 2023 and there was no fee associated with this payment. I would be happy to look into this further and rectify the situation if you can provide us with the transaction number of the payment where you were charged $52 in fees. Please let me know if I can assist further!

I appreciate your response and support, thank you. The transaction number is ********* and captures the $52.00 fee for NSF. This transaction went through several hours after I cancelled the payment, and received an email from ****************** that said, "No further automatic payments will be made on your behalf."Again, thank you for your professional response and support.

From your silence, it seems as though **** doesn't "want to make it right" - this is a reflection of the entire experience we've had with Zego as our HOA's payment method.

Hello, My apologies for the delay! I am showing that the payment for transaction you provided was not made from AutoPay, it was a One Time payment that was made through your ************ also showing that we did not charge you $52 for the *** fee. You were only charged $25 as was the fee agreed to in the disclaimer at the time of payment. The additional fees may have been charged by your bank. We would be happy to reach out to you directly to discuss further!

Hello ******,Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Hopefully we can help clear up any confusion around the processing fees. As a third-party payment processing company, Zego works with each property management company individually to set up their fee structure and payment method options for their residents. Typically, there is a flat fee for e-check transactions and a percentage-based fee for credit and debit card transactions. It is up to each property management company whether they will incur or pass along the processing fees to their residents. Many individual landlords and property managers will only allow tenants to cover their rent with either debit or e-check payments. The option to pay by credit card is considered a nice-to-have for those who may need it, or those with the ability to earn points or claim cash back from their credit cards rewards program. If you would like to know what other payment method options are available to you, please give ** a call at ************, or open a support case at ******************************************************** regards,The Zego Team

I don't even want to check a star at all. I am beyond frustrated. If I have to hear this is our policy one more time. I might lose it. The **** system allowed two payments to go through. I contacted them and was told no problem, call your management company and they will fix it. Did that, and called my bank and put a hold till it was fixed. That cleared but then Zego charged me $25 NSF fee. That was not the issue. It was a double payment. Now they refuse to refund me the $25 due to their policy. You mean noone in your company can do an override because of a misunderstanding/mistake. Uggghhhh! I just want my $25 back.

**************,We sincerely apologize for any frustration we have caused you. Our system is set up to allow users to make any amount of payments they want in order to accommodate those with roommates, or those who want to make multiple partial payments. Our system does provide a warning if a second payment is made immediately after the first, but it will not stop the payment from going through if the resident proceeds.Per the terms and conditions agreed to prior to submitting a payment, an insufficient funds (NSF) fee will be charged to the account holder should the payment be returned for insufficient funds. This disclaimer is displayed on the *************** page before the payment is processed. You may opt to use or decline the service at this point, before the payment is submitted. By submitting the payment, you agreed to the terms and conditions of our NSF policy. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to give ** a call at ************, or open a support case at *************************************************** Warm regards,The Zego Team

Very hard to get support person who can do anything. Almost a month lag from when credit card is initialed with Zego until they actually pay out. Wonder how much money they are making keeping clients money. When you call for updates you just get the run around and told people will call, but they never do.

We take client satisfaction seriously, and appreciate you providing feedback. We sincerely apologize for the lack of support you received. We are always looking to improve, and have passed your feedback along our our support team leadership. Looking into your open support case, we can see that the transaction did take several weeks to deposit (which it shouldn't have). Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration.

    Warm Regards,

Rental agency had me set up online payments through Zego. I did not have autopay enabled. Never had a problem until April rent was due, and **** charged me TWICE, despite the fact that I had only ONE receipt in my email. The entire incident caused the one account to overdraw and pull from the backup account, incurring several overdraft fees. Zego would not take responsibility for the duplicate payment. Horrible experience, I am closing my account and using paper checks from now on.

Hello,We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration. We take resident satisfaction seriously and we appreciate you providing feedback on your recent experience. You are correct in that you did not have an AutoPay set up. However, our logs show that your account was accessed on the 31st and then again on the 3rd, and a payment was submitted each time. Does anyone else have access to your Zego account who may have accidentally submitted a second payment? We would be happy to look into this further for you if you would please give us a call at ************ or open a support case by visiting ******************************************************** regards,The Zego Team

Ripoff company. I am presently paying my HOA fees through this company. Payment is dated to pay at beginning of each month. THERE IS NO LATE DAY FOR THE ****** Jan 2023 I paid on the 24th. No problem. Feb 2023 I paid on the 18th. No problem. March 2023 I receive a letter in the on the 15 with late fees as follows: Assessments: $226.76 (my original payment), Late Fee: $25.00, Interest: $1.13, Notification Fee: $10.00 Total Outstanding: $262.89. Now I am late but the other months I was on time. Truly one of the worst companies I have dealt with in collection HOA fees and no surprise its in **********. There are no good reviews here. Next year I will be seeking a board position and will be replacing you immediately. Bottom line this company is a corrupt and cannot be trusted. If your HOA is dumb enough to do business with them then good luck. They are just west coast con men.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration our system has caused you. Hello ****,We take resident satisfaction seriously, and appreciate you providing feedback. Typically, there is a percentage-based fee for credit and debit card transactions, so the cost of the fee will obviously vary depending on the payment amount. However, e-check transactions are either free to process, or cost a flat rate of about $3 per transaction. If you have any questions about the payment methods available to you, or if you'd like to share any additional feedback, we encourage you to call ************** during business hours, and ask to speak to our Tier 2 support team. You can also open a support case at *************************************************** and one of our representatives will respond to you via email.Warm Regards,The Zego Team

My HOA switched to Zego this year and I hate it. Last year we paid our HOA fees in February and only got a $3 late fee on a $200 HOA fee, this year we got a $25 "administrative fee" on our $220 HOA fee for paying in February. Also, the website is had to navigate, i scoured the website for information on whether or not i had to pay the additional $15 for one day payment to insure my payment was not late (paying on the last day of the month) but i never found any information that answered my question. We are in 2023, there is no reason to charge for online transactions, especially $8-$13 if you don't use a bank account, this greedy company is only in it for the money for sure. Now after reading these comments I'm not sure if it is safe to go though and pay because they might still charge me a late fee. Also, there is no phone number on the site you can call or any chat log you can ask questions, just a bunch of useless FAQs. I will be requesting for our HOA to find a different company to handle finances ASAP. Zero out of 10 stars for sure.

Back in September of 2022 they took $617 dollars out of my account. They did not give the money to the property management company because they no longer use them. Im now in February 2023 and the funds have never been recovered. I tried calling them and they were not helpful. The guy answering their phone refused to give me a reference number for the phone call. Or email me proof showing that I attempted to reach out to them directly. I just want my money to either go to the apartments or back to me. $617 is not a little amount of money.
