2 starsI have been working with Guardian Litigation for 10 months. I am writing a review to provide clarification on their process, because I did not understand how they were going to 'help' **** received a letter in the mail offering me a loan to settle my debts. Out of sheer desperation, I called the number for the "pre-approved" loan. I have read the smug "Guardian Lit does not offer loans, etc..." responses from Guardian, and I believe them. However, I received a loan offer letter (I still have it) and somehow the number on the letter was a person connected to Guardian, and in desperation and confusion I accepted the Guardian plan. Guardian may not offer loans, but that is their bait and switch to get you in their program. I was most definitely told in so many words to stop paying my debts, because if a creditor thinks they can get the money from you, they will not work with Guardian. The Guardian method is to wait until your accounts have been sold to collection agencies, and then they work with the collection agencies. Your credit score will plummet. Your payments will be kept in an "escrow account" until settlements are reached. If you have accounts that are really hurting you, and you absolutely cannot pay them, Guardian may be your answer, Read the BBB complaints and believe them, they are accurate. I am worried, afraid of a judgment against my home, garnishments, lawsuits, liens, all those things that have happened to their other clients. If I had taken the time to research and review, Guardian would have not gotten the smaller accounts that I could have possibly paid myself or worked out a deal with the creditors myself before it went to collections. It would also be helpful to have a monthly update in writing, with some actual facts and details, rather than the phone calls with canned call center responses, and no real information about what is happening. 10 months, 10 accounts, 3 settled. 4 new collections on my credit report.
