5 starsOur old pool solar needed to be replaced. Called **** B and he explained how Solar Tech uses the latest state of the art products. There was no pressure to make a decision, and he explained all the warranties - he gave us an accurate timeframe for completion. ****, their project manager, set up the presite and ******, head technician, with his crew, replaced the pool solar system. We highly recommend SolarTech for any solar needs. We will be using them in the future.Review fromJon Roy B

5 starsOur search for a solar contractor because we wanted a Sunpower brand so we expand my current system. We have always liked Sunpower because its best solar panel, have individual inverter, never had an issue from our old panels, app is easy to understand, never had issues with customer service(when we needed before), 25 yr warranty & rated as the most efficient solar panels in the market. Met up with *** as my agent. He listened carefully what we wanted & what our needs. He gave a great presentation about Sunpower and their battery, which made me more convinced on what I know about Sunpower. He reassured me that my old system will work well with the new one. He also suggested things that we might want base from our needs. We gave us detailed options on systems, lease vs buying and also payment plans. We ended up buying our system.Prior to this expansion, we heard a lot of horror stories my friends experienced when they had their system installed. We had some delays on the start of our installation but it was understandable ( it was raining a lot that several projects would be moved). When they started, everybody was very nice and professional. They explain things to us thoroughly and reinforced things we forget. They are all accommodating to our needs because they are aware I work nights. **** was always easy to talk to. She coordinates everything we need well. ***** was also very helpful. He came to our assistance even when he was already off. *** was still reachable even when we needed help outside office hours. ***, assisted with the inspection, was very helpful also and explained things to us on what is happening. All in all, we are happy with this company. From beginning to end, we highly recommend them if you are thinking of getting a solar system.Review fromNatalia C

1 starI experienced absolute disappointment with Solartech due to their outright job abandonment. While they swiftly installed the system, the project was left hanging, neglected. Despite my relentless attempts to obtain information on the *** installation by SDGE, they remained shockingly unresponsive for weeks. I had to take charge and contact SDGE myself to ensure any progress.Out of nowhere, Solartech unexpectedly appeared for a city inspection after two months, even though the project wasn't close to being ready. This forced the inspection to be canceled. In a conference call with their VP of Operations, I learned that they blamed an employee's departure for the chaos. But internal issues should never justify their neglect of duty and customer care.We chose ********************** despite their not being the cheapest option, assuming we'd receive top-notch service. However, they massively let us down. Their offer of a mere $500 discount feels like a slap in the face for the hassle and inconvenience we've faced. And to add insult to injury, they left unsealed holes on our property, a clear sign of substandard workmanship that only amplified our dissatisfaction.Another significant issue was their failure to explain the solar panels and battery system, despite numerous inquiries. Promises were made time and again to provide crucial details, but they were never followed through.Solartech's negligence and false promises not only fell short but created a complete inconvenience and headache. Their inability to navigate internal changes without adversely impacting their clients is alarming. Considering the hefty price tag we paid, expecting quality service, we didn't even receive a deal. It's not worththerisk.Review fromRay P

1 starThey caused me to have ISSUES WITH THE COUNTY!I contacted Solar Tech to install solar panels on my home. The installers showed up and began working on the installation. This project was unique and somewhat complex. It took Solar Tech a long time to complete the install, they had issues with inspections and even had to remove the original installation team and swap them out for a more experienced one. It was incredibly annoying dealing with the delays but I could get over it.The issue I have is when the project manager informed me that San Diego County would not allow ** to activate the system. This was incredibly confusing and after some time I was able to determine the issue. It seemed that Solar Tech had submitted erroneous information to both SDGE and San Diego County. Solar Tech had listed my garage and shed as existing ADUs. The County believing the information submitted by Solar Tech to be true and correct advised they would not allow further work until permits were pulled for the illegal ADUs. This caused alarm as no modifications had been made to the garage or shed. The shed was actively being used for storage and the garage was being used as our home gym. The Solar installation was the first part of a process to add additional units later on.It took a tremendous amount of my own time to attempt to clarify the issue. I got sick of fighting with San Diego County and hired a lawyer. The laywer was able to clear the matter and the system went live. When I attempted to be reimbursed for some or all of my laywer fees by Solar Tech I was ignored.People have misunderstands all the time however this is clear cut that Solar Tech messed up. If you dont believe me look at the photos below.Solar Tech Energy Systems Inc

Thank you for reiterating your complaints through the BBB as you have with the **** and against our insurance bond. Both complaints were resolved, SolarTech responded in a timely manner to the county to get the issues correct and to you to resolve your complaint.Review fromKaren K

1 starRead what ********** said in his review, because weve also been experiencing problem after problem and numerous delays in getting our solar panels installed PROPERLY. It is also nearly impossible to get anyone to return our calls. Theyve collected $33,000 from ** and our second and latest inspection from the city revealed it failed on two very important issues, the panels were NOT installed properly. Now they have to replan the project for all of the panels (cant get anyone to tell ** how long that will take) and then the electrical panel installation was not done per plan and the plan has to be remade. We started this process at the beginning of Nov 2022its May 2023. Summer is around the corner and NO solar panels. Additionally, when redoing the panel it shorted something so that one of our Ecobee thermostats no longer works, the screen is black and weve been unable to restart it at all. These were just installed last September 2022. I asked them not to process our third payment of $16,000 since the inspection failed, but the only response I received from ********** was she forwarded my request to management, but she has not said who in management she forwarded it to and she has not responded to any of my emails not voice messages. According to her this payment was due now because it is due upon substantial completion of equipment and/or materials installed. However, according to ********** law, Substantial completion is the point in a construction project in which the contemplated premises have been completed to point where the owner can move in and use the premises for their intended purposes. Since this is not about us living here, it means the solar panels should be ready and functional, which sadly they are not!!! I was hesitant to write this review because I fear it might just make our problem worse, but I am at a loss at what to do. After reading the prior review, Im now also concerned that they are going to put a lien against our home as well.Solar Tech Energy Systems Inc

We had to work with the city for the plan resubmission to get approved again after the panels were installed and panel corrected, these things can happen on construction projects, but we are there to fix them as quickly as we can. Not all inspectors request resubmission, but some do, and unfortunately this adds time to the project not receiving PTO. We have had some new personnel come into the office to provide better communication as we want to provide the best customer experience, we can. Regarding payment - that is part of our process to collect, but we understand that you withheld payment until corrections were made. We were able to troubleshoot the thermostats and get those working again for you. We want to make sure you are happier with your project as we strive to keep our customers as happy as we can and provide great service.Review fromGreg K

1 starIf you want a company who does it right the first time....Solar Tech is NOT IT.If you want a company who finishes the job on time...Solar Tech is NOT IT.If you want a company who is truthful and responds to concerns and issues...Solar Tech is NOT IT.Rough job from the start where they installed the roof posts in the wrong spot. When the panels were installed, they figured out the posts were not correct then tried to convince me that it was within spec. I had to contact SunPower directly to confirm that what Solar Tech was telling me was not correct. They then had to come move the posts. After they installed the panels, they told me all done and good. I went on the roof and found an extra post that had been closed off with duct tape and caulk. not what I was expecting. We had a lift and lay done on the roof in prep for solar and the roofing company had to come back three times to fix the mistakes made by Solar Tech. I had communicated to their accounting **** that I wanted to speak with someone in management prior to making the final payment. I had to ask three times then got a note from the sales rep that they were going to put a lien on our house for non payment even after project managers told me to hold payment until I had spoken to management. I would not recommend this company, even if they came in at a lower price. Not worth the headaches and delays.Solar Tech Energy Systems Inc

Thank you for your review. We understand the flashing installation on one of the four arrays was incorrect. We lined up with your roofer and paid them to correct our mistake quickly. You then received PTO right after with no delay. Further, we gave you exceptional pricing on the battery quote because of our mistake to show you we want you to be happy with us, you have not signed the battery quote. Our managers have been able to work with you through every step, including your refusal to pay which resulted in communicating to you about the next possible steps of the lien, as stated in the contract. We understand things can happen on jobs and are there to correct & install so our customers are satisfied with our work as we do with all our customers.
