1 starFirst of all, today I was in the line for 33+ minutes with three different individuals. The first one I specifically said upon answering the phone. That I have been rerouted and in the line for 6+ minutes after driving **** miles. I asked him to slow down and speak louder and clear because of his accent. I told him I had received a letter for ***************** of LA stating my information has been compromised. He immediately said he was going to cancel my subscription without asking or explaining anything else. So I asked to speak with his manger. Again I ran the same story down to her. I said if we get disconnected because Im in a hotel on travel please CALL ME BACK AND DONT WAIT FOR ME TO CALL YOU. She said she could not promise and that she would stay on the line for me to be transferred AGAIN. The third and final person asked me the issue. I explained. I dont remember what happened after aside from me being frustrated at what they said they can do. So I pay ***** deducted from my account WITH NO PROBLEM. Ive even sidebar asked that my payment date be changed to the 1 of the month since Im on disability. NOTHING. After my two free years with Experian are cleared up. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE COMPANY. I AM OK WITH LEARNING A NEW APP, NEW PROGRAM, ONE OF THE TWO OTHER COMPANIES WITH BETTER SERVICE. Im sure I will get things resolved now!Experian Consumer Services

1 starThey run you in circles saying "it's not our problem, talk to someone else." And it's nearly impossible to talk to a live customer ********************** agent. They don't report scores between the big three credit score companies unless you pay for it. They reply to emails with the same customer phone number that doesn't connect you with a live agent. They don't actually know what problems there are when a score isn't reported correctly: my agent said "we can only speculate." Between the rip-off services, horrible customer **********************, and complete lack of transparency, I can only wonder what the point of credit reporting is if no one in the company seems to be able to report or know how to troubleshoot issues.Experian Consumer Services

1 starExperian is the worst credit bureau. As a previous member from their premium membership. The customer ********************** was HORRIBLE! Long wait times, representatives who spoke horrible English (STOP USING 3rd PARTY AGENCIES TO WORK FOR YOUR CUSTOMER ********************** DEPARTMENT.), & inaccurate information reported on my credit statement. There is procedure on how to report inaccurate information. Which I followed and both Equifax and Transunion removed those inaccuracies. Experian tends to be difficult and never explain their decisions. I would advise consumers to purchase a membership with SmartCredit or another company. As Experian is the WORST!Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for expressing your concerns regarding your membership. Credit bureaus maintain separate records of consumers information. To dispute possible inaccuracies on their credit file consumers must direct their requests to each individual credit bureau. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the right to dispute the completeness and accuracy of the information in your credit file. For a summary of your FCRA rights, please visit *********************************************************************************** Listed below is the dispute contact information for the three national credit bureaus: Experian(R), Equifax(R) and TransUnion(R).Experian(R):Online Dispute: ************************************************: PO Box ****, *****, ** ***** Telephone: ************** Equifax(R):Online Dispute: ******************************************************************************************************************************************* via **** postal mail:Equifax LLC P.O. The credit bureau will ask the company or creditor (where possible) to check their records to verify the disputed information. Within 30 days, the company or creditor must respond to the credit bureaus investigation. The creditor or company may verify the account item as accurate, or they may ask the credit bureau to update or correct the item. 1 star4/27/20 - 5/12/21 - 5/1/22 - 5/18/23 I have had my account since 2016 because honestly, we have no choice. I have always signed up for the free plan. The dates above reference each time I spoke to them because it appears every April they try to charge me for a yearly premium membership that I NEVER sign up for. How is it every year they are allowed to automatically change your membership to paid and then withdraw the money? It's only $36 this year so many may not notice. I only did because the bank card they had was expired so I got a notice from my bank about the charge. When you call they act like you're the idiot who didn't know you signed up for a pay plan when I've had the account since 2016 and never once did. It's not a new account. I didn't ACCIDENTLY agree to a paid plan THIS COMPANY CHANGES IT YEARLY TO THE PAID PLAN WITHOUT CONSENT. I wonder how many people are paying for this service and don't even realize it because this company has all our info already. Shady.Experian Consumer Services

As I stated, simply logging into my account should NOT automatically sign me up for a premium product, which it did. I am NOT logging on and upgrading a membership on a site I OBVIOUSLY do not use. As noted, I log in because you send me an email about something with my score, then when I log in, you automatically enroll me into these monthly plans. It's completely unethical and absurd. I'm computer savvy and know when I am signing up for something vs when a company slips it in deceitful.Review fromJoe C

1 starI would score Experian less than 1 star, if it were possible. Experian is the absolute worst in credit scoring. I have an excellent credit history, over 30 years of excellent scoring from credit card companies, auto loan creditors, and mortgage lenders. No late payments ever recorded, all payments owed paid on time and recorded as such. I have zero debt and my credit scores from the other 2 main bureaus are well over 800. In the past 60 days Experian has dropped my credit score over 60 points because I just recently paid off my mortgage loan, 5 years early. This is absurd. You cannot talk to a live person via their customer ********************** lines to discuss it. They are a joke. Credit card companies, auto loan, mortgage loan companies and financial banking institutions need to be using the other credit bureaus when verifying FICO scores in order to give the individual requesting credit, a more honest and fair evaluation of their credit worthiness and their credit FICO scores. I am completely disgusted with Experian and other individuals should be as well. I cant believe they are the main bureau that creditors use to verify a persons credit worthiness.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) about your credit score. Our records indicate you enrolled in our complimentary Experian CreditWorksSM Basic membership on June 28, 2022. This monitoring membership is still active.Your FICO(R) Score is calculated based on the data in your credit report at the time you request your credit report and score. Every time you request a new score, a new credit report is pulled, and your new score is calculated based on the information in your credit report, up to once a day. Be aware, your credit report *** change often. Differences in your score *** be due to a change in balance on one or more of your credit cards, payment updates, the addition of new accounts, or even having no active credit. Even the fact that your account(s) is one month older can affect your score. If there are inaccuracies on your credit report, these could also be affecting your score and should be disputed directly with the credit-reporting agency providing that information. In general, there are many factors that can affect an individuals credit score, such as payment history, current debt, available credit to debt ratio, etc. The actual scoring model and its calculations are proprietary to Fair ***** Corporation. Credit scores are usually calculated based on the combination of all the credit factors in your credit report. Your credit score is not based solely on one single item or behavior. So although you *** have done something that you think should have changed your score, the FICO(R) Score actually looks at how this information combines with other information in your credit report and how, if any, this changes your credit score. Your score *** go up, down, or remain constant depending on each factor as well as a unique combination of factors. The score analysis section that comes with your FICO(R) Score should help you understand what specific credit factors had a positive and negative affect on your FICO(R) Score. We hope this information is helpful when considering this matter.Review fromBryon C

2 starsThe worst at updating information and score. My other scores are ***** point difference. This is not good business in my books. And that is making people suffer because of their laziness. If you cant keep up, maybe you should make changes to improve. Or get your act together.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for expressing your concerns regarding the FICO(R) Score 8 included in your membership. We realize that you may have seen a discrepancy in the score you received from a mortgage lender related to your credit application or from another credit reporting agency and the score provided as part of your membership. We try to make it a point to inform our customers that various scoring models are available in the marketplace and have different potential uses. For instance, we include a disclosure on our site describing the score provided with the credit monitoring membership you purchased. Here, the score that is provided as part of your membership is the FICO(R) 8 model based on Experian(R) data. It is a score that many lenders use in the credit application decision-making process. FICO(R) Scores, ranging from 300 to 850, are developed by Fair ***** Corporation which specializes in developing credit-scoring systems for lenders and other businesses. This can help you see and understand how lenders may view your credit worthiness. It is used by many lenders and is indicative of your overall credit risk. Differences in your score may be due to a change in balance on one or more of your credit cards, payment updates, or the addition of new accounts. Different credit reporting agencies use different scoring models and not all creditors report to all three credit reporting agencies. As for your score and other information being updated in your consumer file, as soon as your creditors report updates to Experian, your credit file is updated within 24 48 business hours. We hope this information is helpful when considering this matter.Review fromDave M

1 starOne Star is to high. Tried for 1.5 hours get get through the phone tree and talk to a person. To save money, they have chosen to make that "impossible." Yet they gather our data, sell it and impact our lives but in my case none of the web or phone tree options applied. Greed of a few that impacts us all. I got my problem solved through Identify theft protection company. She told me that it is not possible to talk to a person, even for them. Notice there rating of 1.1/5 stars.. But they do not care because we are all stuck with their decision to value $$$ more than providing a service to those they make money off of. Wow, what way to make a buck???? I have lots of business clients I work with and I would fire them as a client if they were such bad citizens to the community they serve.Experian Consumer Services

1 starAbsolutely horrible. I cancelled Experian years ago, but recently received an email from them regarding my credit score. I literally cant even get into contact with anyone for support.Phone numbers will just disconnect on me. I found a phone number that has automated service, but it refuses to transfer me to a live agent - Im told that my call cant be transferred for this reason and I have to use the automated service - but the automated service cant help me.So Im stuck in limbo not being able to do anything or get what I need done. One of the most horrible if not the most horrible companies Ive ever dealt with.Experian Consumer Services
