1 starI understand that Experian would like to respond to everyone's issues of customers that have reached out to express their concerns and issues with this company. I have already had my share of issues and until I directly complained to the BBB is when anything was done about it. But why is Experian responding back on private and confidential information about this consumers. on a review you should not be putting any account details doesn't matter how small they are. I legit believe that's you are violating all consumer rights and privacy. ON MY END OF ALL THE CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES YOU ARE THE WORST!!! ZERO RATING!!!!!!!!!! I HAD TO ADD 1 STAR IF NOT IT WON'T LET ME POST. THAT'S HOW BAD THIS SYSTEM IS. I HAVE HAD A PERFECT HISTORY AND YOUR COMPANY IS THE WORST IN DECIDING HOW THE CREDIT SCORE IS MEASURE AND DECIDED. I HAVE PERFECT CREDIT AND TO YOUR STANDARDS IS FAIR !!!! YOU REALLY NEED TO CHANGE YOUR EXPECTATIONS OR HIRE STAFF TO REALLY ANALIZED THINGS CORRECTLY.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for informing us of your recent experience with Experian. Experian prides itself on providing an excellent customer experience, and vigilantly strives to provide the highest standards of customer care and satisfaction. We realize that you may have seen a discrepancy in the score you received from a third party related to your credit application and the score provided as part of your membership. We try to make it a point to inform our customers that various scoring models are available in the marketplace and have different potential uses. For instance, we include a disclosure on our site describing the score provided with the credit monitoring membership you purchased. Here, the score that is provided as part of your membership is the FICO(R) 8 model based on Experian(R) data. It is a score that many lenders use in the credit application decision-making process. FICO(R) Scores, ranging from 300 to 850, are developed by Fair ***** Corporation which specializes in developing credit-scoring systems for lenders and other businesses. This can help you see and understand how lenders may view your credit worthiness. It is used by many lenders and is indicative of your overall credit risk. Certain industries may use custom credit scores that are tailored to their specific needs. The custom scores may be unique to a specific industry, such as mortgage lending or auto lending. These custom scores may be created based on information found in credit reports together with other information from the lenders own portfolio, such as account history. We hope that this provides you some clarity as to the discrepancy between the two scores you received and the various scores available in the marketplace. We appreciate the time you took to send us your comments and suggestions. We value the input from our customers and assure you we will give serious consideration to the issues you presented to us. It is through information provided by customers as you that we are able to improve our products and memberships. We hope the above information is helpful to you in considering this matter.Review fromGeorge S

1 starSomehow Experian got my AMEX card number & started charging me $29.95 per month membership fee. I never signed up for this. They apparently charged me for 3 months & would only credit me 2 months. On top of this they wanted to charge me a transaction fee to close an account I never opened. They got a good scam going...Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing and expressing your concern regarding your membership. Our records indicate that you ordered complimentary membership with Experian CreditWorksSM Basic on April 3, 2023, and that membership was immediately upgraded to Experian CreditWorksSM Premium membership on April 3, 2023. The membership was not cancelled; consequently, in accordance with the published terms of our offer, the credit card provided was charged our monthly membership fee on April 14, May 14 and June 14, 2023. Per your request, your paid benefits will cease, effective July 13, 2023, when your membership will downgrade to Experian CreditWorksSM Basic. You will continue to have access to your Experian(R) credit report and FICO(R) Score once every 30 days, at no charge to you with this membership. Our website describes the offer and the order form details the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing and monthly thereafter unless and until the customer notifies us of their wish to discontinue. The consumer agrees to these terms when submitting their order. We have, as a courtesy, issued a refund totaling $49.98 on June 30, 2023. Please allow 3 - 5 business days for these funds to process to the credit card account. At this time, we would like to express our regret that your experience with Experian CreditWorksSM may not have met your expectation or our standard of excellence. We strive for exceptional customer satisfaction and hope we have addressed your area of concern to your expectation.Review frombrandi b

1 starExperian is the WORST!! Transunion and Equifax have great customer **********************. Everything flows smoothly. It is nearly impossible to get a person on the phone with Experian unlike the other two agencies. My identity was stolen last week. The frauds created a fake account with ********************** with an email address that was not associated with me. When I attempted to make my own account, I could not because there was an account already associated with my SSN. The first agent on the phone on June 15 could not help me. I asked to speak to a manager. She told me I would have to call back in 72 hours to confirm my identity. When I asked the manger why she could not confirm by identity on that day, she would not give me an answer. She repeatedly said she could not confirm me without a reason of why she could not perform her job. She then hung up on me. I was extraordinarily aggravated. I called back on June 19; they were closed for Juneteenth although Experian and Transunion were not. I then called on June 20. After speaking to multiple people, I was transferred to the membership department. She told me the fake email account was canceled. I asked her to stay on the phone with me while I created a new account. She gave me a "direct number" to her that was just to Experian. She then hung up on me. I attempted to make my account with my real email address. Of course, the old account was not really closed because it was going to the FAKE account again. The then called the "direct number." It was just an Experian number. I had to go through hoops again to speak to a person.Experian Consumer Services

In order to properly address your concerns, please contact Experian directly with your specific disputes, along with the names and/or account numbers of the items being disputed, and we will proceed accordingly. We are in the process of forwarding a copy of your Experian report directly to you for review. Each credit *****or makes such decisions based on its own guidelines. Consumer credit reporting agencies only store information from credit *****ors and information contained in public records and supply this information to other creditors upon request. Credit *****ors send us updated account and payment information routinely. We update our records as soon as we receive the updated information. Additionally, each national consumer credit reporting agency *** interpret the requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act differently and each company has their own policies and guidelines for disputing information. Therefore, we cannot update or delete information in our database based on the results of a dispute with another consumer credit reporting agency nor can we dispute information for a consumer with another consumer credit reporting agency. Please note that there are many different credit scores used in the financial service industry. Your score *** be different from lender to lender (or from car loan to mortgage loan, etc.), depending on the type of credit scoring model that was used.A credit score is a number lenders use to help them determine your creditworthiness. It is generated through statistical models using elements from your credit report; however, your score is not physically stored as part of your credit history on the credit file. Rather, it is typically generated at the time a lender requests your credit report, and is then included as part of the report.Your credit score is a fluid number, and it changes as the elements in your credit report change. For example, payment updates or a new account could cause your score to fluctuate. Designers of credit scoring models review a set of consumers - often over a million - who opened loans at the same time, and determine who paid their loan and who did not. The credit profiles of the consumers who defaulted on the loans are examined to identify common traits they exhibited at the time they applied for the loan (such as number of open accounts; amount of outstanding balances; number and severity of late payments; type, number and age of accounts; recent inquiries, etc.) The designers then build statistical models that assign weights to each variable, and these variables are combined to create a credit score.Credit scores consider a wide range of information on your credit report. They do not consider: Your race, color, religion, national origin, *** and marital status. **** law prohibits credit scoring from considering these facts, as well as any receipt of public assistance, or the exercise of any consumer right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act. Your age. Your salary, occupation, title, employer, date employed or employment history. However, lenders *** consider this information in making their approval decisions. Where you live. Any interest rate being charged on a particular credit card or other account. Certain types of inquiries (requests for your credit report). The score does not count "consumer disclosure inquiries that reflect requests you have made for your credit report in order to check it. It also does not count "promotional inquiries" that reflect requests made by lenders in order to make you a "pre-approved" credit offer or "account review inquiries" that reflect requests made by lenders to review your account with them. Inquiries for employment purposes are not counted Credit scores are influenced by certain information on your credit report, such as: Your payment history (how you pay your bills, whether payments were made on time, how late payments were made, and how recently the late payments occurred). Credit usage (balances on your accounts compared to your credit limits, overall and on individual accounts). The balances on your accounts (amount you owe). The types and age of your credit (such as revolving accounts like credit cards, and installment accounts like auto loans, plus the length of time these accounts have been on your credit report). Recent credit (the length of time since the most recent account was opened on the credit report and the number of recently opened accounts, plus the length of time accounts have been on your credit report) Amount/percentage of available credit (your credit limits minus the balances on your accounts). Items that do not appear on your credit report will not affect your score. It is also important to note that as credit scores are based on information in your personal credit report, we cannot change the score; however, inaccurate information in your report can be corrected, which *** change your score. If you feel that your score does not accurately reflect your credit history, please review your personal credit report. If any information is inaccurate, you *** log on to www.experian.com/disputes or contact us at ************** to initiate a dispute. 1 starI keep my credit frozen with all three credit agencies. Transunion is easy - you can manage everything online - no issues. You don't need an account, etc. Equifax - at least you can do it via customer ********************** and it's fairly easy. You can't do it online even though it says you can - you can't. BUT EXPERIAN is impossible. You can't do anything online unless you have an account. If you don't have an account, you call, but they make it impossible to get to a human and even when you do -- they are so antiquated and wrong. I could go on and on, it's a horrible experience and you never ever get to a satisfactory end point. It's the worst.Experian Consumer Services

1 starZero stars. You can NOT get through to customer **********************! I have called at least 15 times. I've have hung on hold for two hours only to have the call get disconnected. I'm currently on hold going on three hours. If you get in the queue to have them call you back, they call back hours later after work hours. If you do answer when they call back, no one is there. It's dead air. I'm at my wit's end and don't know what else to do. I'm trying to pay a bill for a business. I don't need anything from them. I just want to pay THEM, but it's impossible to get through. It seems like they have only one customer ********************** rep that works part time. I don't know how they can do business like this. I assumed they were a reputable company, but after spending several weeks trying to get through to speak to a human, I'm giving up. 1 starExperian, ************ Equifax and ******** Legal has been a nightmare. I am a victim of family violence. I was been raped everyday, beat up, starved and forced into situations that were meant to destory me. I sent verified documents, police reports, victims certification documents to this company and they have refused to accept the documents and release this debt. There is no one who would not sign for a debt when you are being beat and raped and starved everyday. The only thing you can do is pray for your life and wait for the opportunity to get out. I had just had my daughter and she was just 6 months old when I was forced into this debt. If you are being beaten, starved and abused everyday would you be able to say no to being forced into doing something that you did not want to do? These companies have been ruthless and nonchalant about the documents I have sent. What company will refuse to do the right, fair and just thing to restore an abuse victim's life? Experian, TransUnion, Equifax and ******** company. Not only are you all refusing to acknowledge the docs but you all resold this vehicle without providing any documentation and you all are also charging me the full balance of this debt. Where is the resale information on this vehicle and why are you all continuing to take the risk of reporting inaccurate information on my account. I am sick and tired of the heartless a** company and I will wholeheartedly pursue as many lawsuits as possible against you all as possible. I promise you that at this stage in my life I will file lawsuits against persolve, experian, transunion and equifax. This should be removed and updated ASAP. Financial abuse, while less commonly understood, is one of the most powerful methods of keeping a survivor trapped in an abusive relationship and deeply diminishes the victims ability to stay safe after leaving an abusive partner.Experian Consumer Services

Identity theft occurs when someone uses your name, Social Security number, date of birth, or other identifying information, without authority, to commit fraud. For example, someone may have committed identity theft by using your personal information to open a credit card account or get a loan in your name. For more information, visit www.consumerfinance.gov/learnmore or write to: Consumer **************************** ***********************************************************************. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (****) gives you specific rights when you are, or believe that you are, the victim of identity theft. Here is a brief summary of the rights designed to help you recover from identity theft. 1. You have the right to ask that nationwide consumer reporting agencies place fraud alerts in your file to let potential creditors and others know that you may be a victim of identity theft. A fraud alert can make it more difficult for someone to get credit in your name because it tells creditors to follow certain procedures to protect you. It also may delay your ability to obtain credit. You may place a fraud alert in your file by calling just one of the three nationwide consumer reporting agencies. As soon as that agency processes your fraud alert, it will notify the other two, which then also must place fraud alerts in your file. Experian: **************; www.experian.com Equifax: **************; www.equifax.com TransUnion: **************; www.transunion.com An initial fraud alert stays in your file for at least *********************************** your file for seven years. To place either of these alerts, a consumer reporting agency will require you to provide appropriate proof of your identity, which may include your Social Security number. If you ask for an extended alert, you will have to provide an identity theft report. An identity theft report includes a copy of a report you have filed with a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency, and additional information a consumer reporting agency may require you to submit. For more detailed information about the identity theft report, visit www.consumerfinance.gov/learnmore. 2. You have the right to free copies of the information in your file (your file disclosure). An initial fraud alert entitles you to a copy of all the information in your file at each of the three nationwide agencies, and an extended alert entitles you to two free file disclosures in a 12-month period following the placing of the alert. These additional disclosures may help you detect signs of fraud, for example, whether fraudulent accounts have been opened in your name or whether someone has reported a change in your address. Once a year, you also have the right to a free copy of the information in your file at any consumer reporting agency, if you believe it has inaccurate information due to fraud, such as identity theft. You also have the ability to obtain additional free file disclosures under other provisions of the ***** See www.consumerfinance.gov/learnmore. 3. You have the right to obtain documents relating to fraudulent transactions made or accounts opened using your personal information. A creditor or other business must give you copies of applications and other business records relating to transactions and accounts that resulted from the theft of your identity, if you ask for them in writing. A business may ask you for proof of your identity, a police report, and an affidavit before giving you the documents. It also may specify an address for you to send your request. Under certain circumstances, a business can refuse to provide you with these documents. See www.consumerfinance.gov/learnmore. 4. You have the right to obtain information from a debt collector. If you ask, a debt collector must provide you with certain information about the debt you believe was incurred in your name by an identity thief like the name of the creditor and the amount of the debt. 5. If you believe information in your file results from identity theft, you have the right to ask that a consumer reporting agency block that information from your file. An identity thief may run up bills in your name and not pay them. Information about the unpaid bills may appear on your consumer report. Should you decide to ask a consumer reporting agency to block the reporting of this information, you must identify the information to block, and provide the consumer reporting agency with proof of your identity and a copy of your identity theft report. The consumer reporting agency can refuse or cancel your request for a block if, for example, you dont provide the necessary documentation, or where the block results from an error or a material misrepresentation of fact made by you. If the agency declines or rescinds the block, it must notify you. Once a debt resulting from identity theft has been blocked, a person or business with notice of the block may not sell, transfer, or place the debt for collection. 6. You also may prevent businesses from reporting information about you to consumer reporting agencies if you believe the information is a result of identity theft. To do so, you must send your request to the address specified by the business that reports the information to the consumer reporting agency. The business will expect you to identify what information you do not want reported and to provide an identity theft report. To learn more about identity theft and how to deal with its consequences, visit www.consumerfinance.gov/learnmore, or write to the Consumer **************************** You may have additional rights under state law. For more information, contact your local consumer protection agency or your state attorney general. In addition to the new rights and procedures to help consumers deal with the effects of identity theft, the **** has many other important consumer protections. They are described in more detail at www.consumerfinance.gov/learnmore According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, our role in the dispute process is to review the accuracy and completeness of any disputed item which may include contacting the furnisher of the information or the vendor that collected the information from a public record source, and notifying them of the dispute and disclosing all relevant information regarding your dispute. Experian: **************; www.experian.com Equifax: **************; www.equifax.com TransUnion: **************; www.transunion.com An initial fraud alert stays in your file for at least one year. An extended alert stays in your file for seven years. An identity thief may run ** bills in your name and not pay them. ** addition to the new rights and procedures to help consumers deal with the effects of identity theft, the **** has many other important consumer protections. They are described in more detail at www.consumerfinance.gov/learnmore We hope this information is helpful when considering this matter.Review fromTimothy K
