To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding inaccurate and misleading information being reported on my credit file. Upon reviewing my credit report, I identified an account that incorrectly reflects multiple late payments, including a 90-day late status. These derogatory marks were reported during a period when the account was in an active forbearance agreement.Pursuant to the CARES Act and FCRA guidelines, accounts that are placed in forbearance should not be reported as delinquent during the relief period. Therefore, the reporting of any late payments ,especially a 90-day late status is in direct violation of federal consumer protection laws and credit reporting accuracy standards. These accounts are listed with late or missed pay and that is incorrect. The followin g accounts were NEVER late and should be listed as PAYS or PAID AS AGREED : Name : **** OFED/AIDVANTAGE Account numbers/amount : ********/ ***************/ ***************/ ***************/ ***************/ ***************/ ***************/ ***************/ ***************/ *************/ $556

I  authorize the submission of this complaint and that Im requesting assistance from BBB. This company continues to provide incorrect information on my credit score and has my Student Loans marked as 90 days late when they are in forbearance. I talked to AIDVANTAGE ( student loan services) and they verified and sent me proof that I was never behind . I want my account to reflect that Im in good standing and the 90 days late removed off of my account. This drastically tanked my credit score but was inaccurately reported which is illegal.

March 30, 2025 Dear Experian Fraud Department,I am writing to formally dispute the inaccurate information appearing on my credit report in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter, Experian has failed to take appropriate action to correct or remove the erroneous listing of an account that does not belong to me.The account in question is listed under MOHELA with account number ***********. I have never held a loan with ******, and any claims that this account has been verified are incorrect. I have made multiple disputes requesting the removal of this fraudulent account, but ********************** continues to report it as verified and updated.Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you are legally required to ensure that all information in a consumers credit report is accurate and verifiable:15 U.S. Code 1681i(a)(1)(A) states that if a consumer disputes the completeness or accuracy of any item of information, the consumer reporting agency must conduct a reasonable reinvestigation to determine whether the disputed information is accurate.15 U.S. Code 1681e(b) requires consumer reporting agencies to follow reasonable procedures to ensure maximum possible accuracy of consumer reports.15 U.S. Code 1681c(a) prohibits the inclusion of inaccurate and unverifiable information on a consumers credit report See attached documentation! iWhen I attempt to access the alleged account using my Social Security number and date of birth, MOHELAs system does not recognize my information, further proving that this account is not mine.Given this clear evidence, I demand that Experian immediately remove the fraudulent MOHELA account from my ********************** report. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will be forced to escalate my complaint to the ************************************ (****) and seek legal action for violations of the ****, which entitles me to statutory damages.***** V. *******

      Customer Answer

Experian has repeatedly violated the **** by continually refusing to acknowledge Identity Theft affidavit and allowing fraudulent accounts to remain on consumers report. Experian solution is for the consumer to reach out to the creditor.  I don't have nor have I ever had any business nor loan with MOHELA.

By federal law, the consumers personal credit report must list all organizations that have requested their credit history. In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, entities who have certified to Experian that they have a permissible purpose may inquire about credit information. For example, organizations that have granted the consumer credit or with whom they have applied for credit, or entities collecting on transactions that they initiated or on judgments rendered against them, are permitted to make inquiries on their credit report. Requests for a consumers credit history remain on the personal credit report for at least two years.
