I hired movers to help move and load a truck. However the movers dropped a desk down a flight of stairs while moving it, resulting in the desk being completely broken and being unable to be repaired, with several pieces of chipped wood, scratches, and broken pieces. I got into contact with the moving provider, and we agreed on them paying for half of the value of the desk (a $150 refund), however they disappeared without paying the money and never again responded to my calls and messages. I have contacted movinghelp numerous times and they have told me that they can't do anything and that only the moving provider can help, which seems ridiculous that they don't have a process for poor movers being hired or for being able to get the money back from the movers. I am incredibly frustrated with this process, as I now have needed to waste a lot of my time making phone calls and messaging both moving help and the movers, even though I will still not be able to get the full value of my desk. I would avoid this company at all costs and find a reputable company that will take responsibility for items being broken.

    Hello,

The response that was received was about a different order than the one that I was referencing. My complaint was for order number 64348d9c, where the provider was with Greater Earth Moving. This is the order I am requesting a refund for due to the destruction of a property and due to being unable to receive a response from the provider, as outlined in the previous message.

    Thanks,

My concern is with movinghelp. Com , its moving company- keep it moving , and U-Haul. I will file a separate complaint pertaining to their involvement. This complaint is to movinghelp . I wasnt aware of their not screening or having no regulations on the movers . That its like hiring anyone off the street and allowing them in your home.landscaping companies have to be bonded and criminal checked I informed moving help of the two companies I had a problem with, they wasted my time having me file a dispute only to inform me three weeks later . Its nothing they can do. My life was put a harm and my *************. I was charged **** for a two hour job they charged $55 an hour. These movers went through my belongings stole and damaged about **** worth of items. Plus 300dollars on helpers to move because they never finished unloading the truck. When discussing the fee he wanted **** I said no spoke on the damages , he didnt work only the one guy did and it should not have taken from **** at night nine hours. No also I spoke on the fact that a lady and a kid came , it suppose to be only 2 men., over ******** me. He stood up said I had to pay him and the other guy got up and proceeded towards us . Im was home alone, 10:30 at night and freezing outside. I have major health issues, on oxygen and had no choice, I was being robbed and threatened.I hadnt ate and was feeling weak and Ill. Its frightening knowing they can come back at anytime.moving help needs to change their policies. They should be held responsible for their independent contractors. Check and see if the people are licensed by the state. Set forth safety measures. Put up front bold letters you hire these guys at your own risk and that they all are not moving companies . They are not honestly licensed even if it may state it.

We do check on the owners background, however, we dont/cant check every worker they employee. As were a neutral marketplace and do not manage the companies in who they hire and how they operate (there are policies and rules they do have to follow) . For  the moving help order for Keep It Moving, we show you have only paid $100.00 for that order and the payment code was released. Did you pay the extra $1,000.00 out side of the marketplace? If so please attached the proof that you paid that to the service provider with Keep It Moving.  MovingHelp.com only received $105.95 from you.
Once again we are truly sorry about the experience you received with that company.

Im asking that my complaint be reopened in that moving help.com in my opinion sent a generic general response. Besides my personal request pertaining to self .. I alsoI requested that they make some kind of effort to let the buyer beware that you are hiring people with out any protection . Not put at the end in small print but boldly stated on the front bold and noticeable. Make it mandatory that the client get a copy of the movers drivers license. And by no means can more people come to the work site than initially agreed. Moving help can put stipulations on the movers and require the client to see it through for some kind of safety effort to the client. Moving help isnt holding up to the BBB qualification integrity and such. This is misleading uHaual / moving help showing high status with BBB . Yet the list of what BBB stands for from the business movinghelp is lacking. Seeing the BBB status is and was another reason to trust all would be fine.
    Thank you for your consideration

I hired 2 movers through Movinghelp.com. They arrived 2.5 hours late at 12:30, left an hour early at 2:30 and charged me for 3 hours of work. They were hired to load and unload. I am writing to formally file a complaint against MovingHelp, a service facilitating moving assistance, due to egregious overcharging and deceptive practices by their affiliate businesses, specifically Parks Moving Services. On December 17th at 8 am, I engaged MovingHelp to arrange two movers for a two-hour service window through Parks Moving Services. Unfortunately, the service fell significantly short as only one mover was provided for a mere one hour, despite the upfront payment for a two-mover, two-hour service. The customer service experience was equally appalling. The representative, ********, demonstrated extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism when questioned about the discrepancy, eventually hanging up abruptly after demanding a specific code.Despite contacting U-Haul, the parent company of MovingHelp, seeking assistance and a possible price adjustment, I was directed back to the affiliate movers. This lack of accountability and resolution is unacceptable. This situation is nothing short of theft, with MovingHelp and its affiliates charging for a service that was not delivered. Such deceptive practices not only violate consumer trust but also constitute a serious breach of ethical business conduct.I request that the Better Business Bureau thoroughly investigates this matter and takes appropriate action against MovingHelp and its affiliate, Parks Moving Services. Additionally, I seek your assistance in ensuring a fair resolution, including a rate adjustment for the services not rendered as contracted.I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and trust that the Better Business Bureau will uphold the standards of integrity and fairness in business practices.Thank you.

MovingHelp.com claims to be a marketplace connecting consumers with moving labor providers, however, they require exclusivity, and will remove you if you are on any other platforms other than MovingHelper.com. This results in a huge loss of revenue for local business owners around the country who depended on the additional revenue that their MovingHelp account brought in. You are not an independent business with Moving Help, rather you must be completely dependent on MovingHelp resulting in more of a employee-employer relationship focused on monopolization, rather than creating an opportunity for independent businesses to thrive.

On October 21, 2023 at 7:03 PM, I initiated a case with MovingHelp.com (Case Number: #*****) to assist with damages incurred during a move they coordinated for me with On The Go Moving LLC on 10/9/23 (Order #: OR-1323d0d7).The verbiage was as follows:"Movers were polite and respectful, however they scuffed up the walls in our newly constructed home and damaged our newly refinished floors. We reported the issue to the owner, ****, the same day (while we were providing him with the payment code) and also provided him with pictures of the damage. He said he would get back to us with a discount or someone to repair the damage. It has been 2 weeks and we still don't have a remedy for the damages. At this point, I have no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card company."I disputed the charge on 11/2. On 11/3, I personally spoke with the owner of On The Go Moving LLC, *******************, who agreed to the full refund, however MovingHelp.com has refused to honor the refund. The case on their website remains open as of the date of this request (please see the attachments). I am requesting that the full refund be honored by MovingHelp.com.

I used movinghelp.com to book 2 movers for 2 hours on November 1, 2023 at noon. I was in contact with the movers from noon until 5 pm. The original team was in a car accident and when it became clear they were not going to make it - ONE guy was sent and he arrived at 5pm. The guy I was speaking with on the phone told me they were going to refund the full amount to me. Because they were so late I moved 1/3 of my items between noon and 5pm. When one guy showed up I ended up helping him move the rest of my things.I want the full refund amount they promised. I contacted moving help but they refuse to help and consider this an issue between me and the moving company and not them. They are listed on my credit card so it should be them who issues me a refund. I released the payment code because I wanted the guy who actually did show up to get paid and I was promised a refund over the phone.

Hello, I purchased Ubox with loading& unloading moving help. The ***** movinghelp order number is #5c7b54c2 and the troubled movinghelp is one of ***** Moving contractors, Sebastians Moving and the assigned Job Number is JB-16bf464a . This contractor doesnt answer the calls, text messages at all on the contracted moving day. I called UHaul for a help. The UHaul said just cancelled the service on their app and choose another one. There is no contractor available on the MOVING DAY. I asked ***** to refund me so that I can find other source to move rather using their other contractors on other day which requires me additional hotel stays and inconvenience. I have nothing but clothes on my suitcases due to moving from different states. Additionally, my fianc is a cancer patient and she cant stay in uncomfortable environment. The bleach of contract with UHaul moving contractor and refuse of refund of the service by ***** encountered me additional expenses and forced to use untrusted movinghelp services that UHaul has. I followed all their instructions and pay in full all of the service to believe that they will do the same. Even with the breach of contract, ***** did not take any responsibility and hold the funds then forced to keep using their service where it didnt resolve the moving issue I had which caused an extra expense to the customer. This is a malicious business practice. Please let me know if you have any questions on my complaint. Thank you.

Customer rebooked a new order with the store credit that they opted in to do and used the $209.00  to book a new order with a new service provider. Customer's new order is A1 Smooth Movers set for 11/17/2023.  They do have an option to cancel the order and refund the store credit back to the original payment method. When customer cancels there are 2 options on what they can do: 1) cancel for store credit and hold those funds they have already paid or 2) refund to the method payment (credit/debit card) that was used. They can do that in their customer account by using the email that was used to book the order with which was ****************************************.

I disagree what Movinghelp stated that they offer refund to an original payment option when the customer cancel the job. When I called the customer service, they guided me for choosing another movers and told me they cant refund the money. (***********, **)
I was not able to find any movers at the same rate sooner than 11/17 and this one still inquiries $21 additionally.
It is very disappointing that the movinghelp.com is stepping away by saying that they dont have any responsibility if their contractors bleach the contract and put customers in additional fiduciary duties. On the movinghelp.com, it misleads the customers by movinghelp ensures the services they offers the stress free move. If youre stating that you are not the party to ensure the service to be provided as contract, I wont be using your company. Im hoping this is also a learning experience for your company and do actions to your contractors who bleach the contract on the moving day without saying anything. It shouldnt be all on customers burden and still your companys attitude on bleach of contract is a simple sorry but you are scheduled to an another day for move. I honestly think you should be responsible for some of burden that customer had to go through. I still am not hearing any action plans for movers who bleach the contracts and outlaw.

Each service provider sets their own rates, availability, scheduling etc. They are the ones they are responsible for their customer stratification. Once again the customer has an order that is place that is still scheduled. If they do not want to continue with that service provider, they can certainly cancel and get their money back as long as the payment code is not given to the service provider. Below are instructions on how to cancel. You can cancel for a full refund at any point prior to the Moving Help Service Provider showing up to complete the job. Once you place the order you will receive a 6-digit Payment Code to give the Service Provider once the job is completed to authorize the release of the payment to them. As long as you have not released the payment code to them, either through your Customer Account on ********************** or by giving them the code, you can cancel for a full refund back to your card on file. Instructions: 1.  Visit MovingHelp.com and click Account. Create an account if needed.2.  You received an email to verify your account. Open this to finish the verification process.3.  Access your account and click the job number (JB-) you wish to cancel.4.  Scroll down and locate Cancel this job by clicking here 5.  Follow the prompts to cancel.  The email used to book the order was: ****************************************

On 9/11/23, my movers booked through moving help arrived. The movers made minor damages to items (a mirror mount, lamp, tv stand and standing desk), which they did not inform me about, when loading items into a truck. I informed the manager of the company on 9/12 when he contacted me for additional billing for extra time. I found these damages only after they left.Additionally, there were two bankers boxes set aside, which I asked the movers not to load into the truck. One included passport, old phones and $500 cash. They confirmed with me they would not move them into the truck. Unfortunately, they did load these items into the truck, which was later confirmed by a mover with me on 9/11, when I couldnt find the boxes after they left.I could not retrieve these boxes on 9/11 from the truck, as they were behind furniture. When the truck arrived, I found the cash missing from a bankers box(I am very positive the cash was in the box when I asked the movers not to move the bankers boxes). I contacted the manager again when I received this box on 9/27. He said he would get back to me the same day, but didnt hear back. I followed up with him on 9/30, and he said he had bad service and would get back to me soon after talking to his crew. I contacted him again on 10/12 and he did not respond. I opened a case on 10/14 on movinghelp (#*****), and the issues I had were not addressed, he suggested the money was misplaced by me. I am positive I did not misplace it, and still feel that some liability should be taken as I asked for the boxes not to be moved with missing money. I personally contacted him again twice on 10/16, twice on 10/17 and once on 10/18, and he did not respond. The case (#*****) is still open on movinghelp, and no resolution has been made. What I propose is that moving help, as the intermediary, provide me a refund of the move (an amount of $455.95), which will help me recuperate my lost money, which is a significant amount to me as a graduate student.

I had an awful experience with ****** best Moving Services", hired through Uhaul's Movinghelp platform.Their team of 2 helpers came with absolutely no tools or moving straps, completely unaware of the task waiting for them, because they didn't bother to ask ahead of time.Despite my instructions to be careful, and the fact I provided a dozen protection blankets at their disposition, their careless workers broke an expensive mirror, dented/chipped 2 nightstands, tore a large painting, and scratched my hardwood floors by dragging a heavy marble table across them. They even tried to bounce my wine cellar down the stairs on a trolly instead of lifting it! The helpers even got into a loud argument in front of me. One of them said he had never worked with the other, and wished to never work with him again...They didn't listen to instructions (leave the art, load the sofa first) which I had to repeat 3 times each. Because they weren't equipped, they needed to call a third employee, which we waited over an hour for.Their boss wanted more money before continuing the move, even though his employees were waiting with their arms crossed. When I called him to express my frustration with the damage, he hung up on me (twice). To his credit, the third helper was great. I was then led on a wild goose chase to find the original 2 helpers who walked out due to their boss not resolving the prepayment issue promptly. We looked for them for half an hour, and I ended up completing the move and unloading the truck with only the 3rd helper, which I compensated generously. As a result, I injured my back doing all the heavy lifting, and am forced to seek physiotherapy and take 4-6 weeks off from sports and lifting. Plus, ****** **** moving services" refused to compensate me for the damaged items, estimated at $4400.
