    Beware!!! This is a crooked organization and should be investigated for fraud. I rented a vehicle online from Dollar Rental Car through Priceline.com. When I rented car at the **********************, I was told by the Dollar Rental Car Agent that PlatePass was an optional service. I told the agent where I was going to and she agree with me that I did not need PlatePass service. As a result, I declined service at the time of rental. During my stay in the ******* area, I stayed off all toll roads. In addition, I used my personal Garmin Nuvi 200W GPS system to make sure I was not on any toll roads. PlatePass charged my credit card $22.95 without my authorization and would not refund my money. PlatePass customer service representative told me that a daily charge was included on all vehicle rentals.

    I attempted to leave a phone number for ATS for a callback and was not able to do so even though I followed the phone tree instructions. I also waited on hold for 20 minutes and given that there was no music or recording, the strategy for a silent hold is likely that a customer will hang up. The administrative fee of $15 for a rental car toll amount of $9 should be illegal especially since one cannot reach a live body. They are simply collecting your money and have no consideration for the customer. I recommend that ******************** look into this company. Ethically, this company is not trying to help customers in any way shape, or form. Rental car companies can do better. Eliminate this poor practices. If it were not for customers, this company would not be in business.

    Beware of using any automated tolling in your rental vehicle, as it is not likely included in your rental agreement but instead may run through a third party named "PlatePass". PlatePass (via Hertz Rental) charged me $59.96 for two usages of their service for tolls totaling $2, a rather hefty markup. When I reached out to them, they insisted that I had declined their service when it wasn't offered at the rental counter. They offered to "only" charge me $9.99 in administrative fees per usage plus the toll for a total of $22.I think this organization should be investigated for deceptive practices and charging unfair junk fees to customers.

    1/5 five stars. PlatePass (Hertz Rental) takes several weeks after the toll was charged to bill you. They're often incorrect which requires calling customer service to prove that you were not in the location at the time at the time of the charges. $10 "convenience fees" and being charged $30/day for unlimited tolls when that service was explicitly declined. This company and industry needs to be investigated and regulated. They are slow to bill, their fees excessive, and their data collection flawed.

    Fox rental car in ***** Totally ripped us off We tried to pay toll No one was at toll booth When we turned rental car in we tried to pay toll We were told no problem that *** has an account and will pay it Then we got charged 60 dollars in administrative fees So of course we called Then after a two hour wait on the phone we were told they would reduce the Administrative fee Thieves

    I paid the bill the day it was due. They apparently refunded it, charged again, refunded again. Then tried to charge again (A month later) when there was no funds on the card. So then they decided to add a fee for return payment. I have receipts, conformations and all, she saw it, but nothing they can do. Terrible service and nothing we can do about it. Just at the mercy of idiots.

    Just got a receipt via email from Hertz with the following breakdown:Summary of PlatePass Charges Toll Charges: $3.95 Convenience Fee: $19.98 Total:$23.93 Amount Charged:$23.93 How is it possible (and legal) for a company to charge pretty much ANYTHING they desire under a "convenience fee", even when it is WAY MORE than the actual charge in question? Totally unfair for the customer. Incredible way of getting rich by ripping people off.

    A fraudulent company that surreptitiously charged me $145 for a week's worth of Ezpass, without an itemization. On follow up, they continue to send canned messages justifying why they charged me. To this day, they haven't provided a breakdown of these charges. If I had the foresight to bring my own EZpass, I would have paid $30 at the most and saved a $100. Their service doesn't make it easier and their fees are criminal.
