1 starThis company has scammed my *********** in the past into taking more money from us than we owed. We have called about 25+ times & have sent dozens of emails over a course of months explaining to many customer representatives about our issue. The accounting ************************ have refused to contact us even though we keep requesting to talk to them. We bought our package for a certain amount which was clearly posted on the portal yet they charged us $200+ more then the original package price due to an error they made on their end in the first place. We have on multiple occasions sent & proven through bank statements of what we have paid, yet they keep saying we owe them more. This originally happened by them charging our bank account multiple times in one month without our consent. I disputed the amount with my bank because no one at NASM was doing anything about ****** had to pay bills. They even suspended the NASM account for 40 days even though we paid the correct amount due every month & the exam was a month away, we couldn't just keep waiting so I just ended up paying a lump sum to unlock the account & would deal with balancing out the account later. I even had an employee from my bank with 30+ years of experience sitting beside me on one of the calls going through each transaction charged to the account & returns given back to us. This bank employee said NASM was in the wrong & I should have stopped payments at a certain month but they just kept charging us. Although, if I had stopped paying NASM what they think I owe them it would have gone to a collections agency & that's even worse to deal with. This has been the worst company I have ever dealt with and that's not an exaggeration. I do not trust this company at all and they stole $200+ that we needed at the time. I do not know what else to do at this point but to write this review to hopefully warn people before they do business with this company.

1 starZero stars, if the system would've let me...I enrolled in NASMs online certification program a little over a year ago after being reassured by the representative that Id have plenty of time to complete the course and take my exams. However, when I tried to take my test today to receive my certificate, I was shocked to discover that my course had expired. After calling customer service, I was told I had to pay an additional $200 just to take my testeven though Id already paid in full at the start and was never informed about any hidden deadlines or extra fees. When I explained the situation, the representative put me on hold, then returned and offered to reduce the fee by only $50. That doesnt address the real issue: I was never told upfront about these policies or charges. For me, its not about the moneyits about integrity and transparency. I no longer want my name associated with NASM and will be writing off what Ive already paid. If you value honesty in a company, NASM is not for you.

1 starPlease avoid at all costs.I enrolled in a NASM course on May 12, 2025, after being pressured during a job-related training. The sales process was misleading, and key details about cancellations and refunds were not disclosed upfront.I later requested a refund, but NASM refused and continued to pressure me to pay. - as this happened to many other customers.I have seen plenty of other users on Trustpilot report similar problems, so this does not appear to be an isolated issue.Personally, this certification did not help me get a good job as a personal trainer; it only wasted my money and caused me a stress. The situation was made worse by highly unprofessional and disrespectful behavior at the workplace that required me to take this course.I ended up leaving the job because of how unsafe and unprofessional it was.Overall, I cannot recommend NASM.There are better paths to a career as a personal trainer without going through this certification.

1 starThey are unworthy of a single star. Regarding my experience with the NASM1 membership. The company blatantly lied. I verbally agreed to a month to month membership. I clearly asked if it was like a regular month to month membership and stated that I would only sign up if I had the option to cancel my membership if need be. The representative told me that it was and that it was no problem to cancel. After I signed up and needed to cancel several months later due to financial constraints, I was told that I had agreed to a year long contract. That I could cancel, but I would still owe for the entire year. I never agreed to this. Period. I escalated my dispute to the highest manager they would allow, and explained that I was lied to, that I was told I could cancel anytime without issue. The manager told me that they reviewed the audio of my conversation, and that they determined I would still have to pay and that they did nothing wrong. They would not elaborate and would not allow me to hear the audio. To anyone reading this, beware; they will say whatever is necessary to get your money, to the point of blatantly lying, and will basically tell you to f*** off if you dont like it.

Hello *******,
NASM is sorry to hear about the frustration this situation has caused. NASM One is a subscription-based membership, and the termsincluding the annual commitmentare outlined during enrollment and in the Terms and Conditions accepted at purchase.
While representatives aim to explain these details clearly, all agreements are confirmed in writing. When concerns are raised, NASM reviews available records, including call audio, to ensure accuracy and fairness. Audio reviews are handled internally, and while they arent shared externally, this case was escalated and evaluated thoroughly.
On September 7th, instructions were provided for the cancellation of the auto-renewal, and NASM hopes that helped move things forward. NASM appreciates the feedback and remains committed to improving the member experience.
Thank you

1 starHi I signed up for my NASM CPT course a couple months back and have felt decent about the course so far and feel I have gained some good knowledge. I get ready to take my exam early in the morning 6 am. Ready to go I was told I could not take my exam because of my name not matching my ID. Mind you this couldve been checked days before when I checked in for exam. I was then told I had to pay 35 dollars for a late fee because I was not on time for exam which I was in advance 15 minutes before start time. I then attempted to call the office and was not able to reach anyone 6am eastern = 3 am pacific time. I feel incredibly taken advantage of and feel as though I have invested into a cash grab with a certificate. I will most definitely not recommend this service to anyone I speak to in the future and would greatly appreciate a response

1 starI'd give zero stars if I could. I filed to have my contract terminated due to medical reasons and they won't let me out of paying them. Additionally, their courses are a scam. They literally do nothing to teach you about training. If you want to be a trainer, take real classes with real people who have done the work.

1 starRUN! Dont believe BBB and ****** reviews. I urge you to check them out on yelp and trust pilot where you will see their true colors. ***** this company at all costs. Sales **** are quick to answer when theyre taking your money, but once youre a customer, expect hour-long hold times, rude agents, and zero help. Theres a huge language barrier, and the **** are condescending and refuse to escalate issues. My account has been a mess for months despite paying regularly. They care more about selling than supporting. Horrible experience I would never recommend this company to anyone

2 starsI was conned into purchasing a training certification package and told I could study at my own pace and that is what the website says, but that is NOT true if you do not finish in a certain amount of time, which is a few short weeks you have to pay extra to extend the time. Also, they say you do not have to take the accredited exams if you want to train people on your own (not in a big box gym), but that is not really true either. I would not recommend this company or at the very least ask tons of questions and get them in writing.

1 starSame as others, signed up, looked at the material once, wanted to cancel and did not even fight for a refund, I just want this scum business to stop calling my phone every day for the past 6 months. Have filed complaints with the *** and CFPB and still no resolution. Stay away from this scam at all costs.
