Was with EcoShield for 2 years (per the contract I signed). I had emailed them asking if I had met the requirements of our contract and their representative said yes, I had fulfilled the time that we agreed to. I went to go cancel service with them and everything seemed ok. Then they send me a bill for $150 for a cancellation fee. If I broke the contract I signed I would expect a fee, what honest company charges a cancellation fee when you fulfil your contract?My advice to anyone reading this, do not hire this company. I started receiving calls from a debt collector asking for my daughter who is a minor. They insist my daughter owes EcoShield Pest Control $650 dollars, I told them shes a minor. Then they insist that an adult in my home used her name to sign up for pest control, and she still owes the money which is untrue. I was Solicited by an Eco Shield Employee over a year ago for monthly service to be paid quarterly. They will not let me cancel my service or give me a copy of the "Contract that I Signed". When requesting to end service I was told that I can not cancel there service. They have also forged my initials on the second page of a contract that I never saw. They have copied a signature and used it on more than one place in the document.Business Response

In June 2023, I signed up for a one year contract with Ecoshield Pest Solutions from a door salesman. He promised my home would be serviced every other month inside and out and that if I had any issues in-between with bugs appearing, they would immediately send someone out. The salesman purposely didnt explain that the appts would be at the companies convenience, and not at the customers. As a result of them scheduling the appointments whenever they feel like it, even if the homeowner is not available, only the exterior front yard of the home can be sprayed, and not the interior or backyard. The customer is then forced to wait two months for the next appointment to try to get the interior and rear yard sprayed.Also, if you call about any bug infestation in between scheduled appointments you are told to wait till the next scheduled appointment. On APRIL 6, I received a text message from Ecoshield saying my appt would be on April 11 between 9-11am. I rearranged my work schedule to be present for the appt because we had started seeing spiders in the house and I wanted the interior sprayed. On the morning of the 11th at 8am, I received a message from **** at Ecoshield that the technician had called out and they would have to reschedule me to 4/13. When I told her I wasnt available, she said that was fine because they could still treat the exterior of the home and come back for the interior. I told her I wanted the appt rescheduled so the interior could be done because of a large spider in the home just a few days ago. She grudgingly reschedule to a date I was available, April 15 8-10 am. (At this time, I also asked her about canceling my contract. She advised I would be charged $200 if I didnt complete the contract and I still had two more appt before I would be done.)On Monday April 15,2024 at 9:29am, at nearly the end of my service window, I received a text from DJ saying they would have to reschedule again with no input from me on my availability.Business Response

Contacted business in February 2024 to discontinue service. The service provider is supposed to spray interior and exterior and show up without appointments which makes it impossible for an interior as this is a private residence. **************** said I would receive an $80 credit on my invoice since exterior only was sprayed. They said I would need to have to continue service for one more treatment only in April 2024 to avoid a cancellation fee. I agreed to continue only for April 2024 and they were to cancel. I also requested a final invoice in writing which I never received to reflect this agreement in writing Service provider showed up in April without an appointment again and sprayed exterior only. I called customer service again to cancel. They sent me a $300 cancellation fee.This company tries to keep you perpetually locked in with threats of $300 cancellation fees so you can't cancel their service.Business Response

In August, Ecoshield was supposed to service my house. I got a text on that day asking how my service was. No one has come to my house. I work at home and was there all day and have motion detector cameras. I called and they said they would send someone back out. Again, no one showed at my house. I called again and was told they were at my house and got a signature. Well, they got a signature from the wrong house. I emailed in my signature and it was clearly not mine. They offered to do my next service at half price but I said I wanted a refund for the $159.99 they charged in August. They said they had to forward it to the supervisor. Around 10 calls and 4 hours on the phone with them later, I have not received my August refund.Business Response

In August 2023 I was approached by a young man stating he was with Ecoshield Pest Solutions and offered me a deal on Pest Control services. I agreed and a technician came by to spray the property and inside my home. They were to come the next month and then every other month thereafter. They came twice under the contract, once as a follow-up to continued pests. The company never calls you to schedule, they send you a text with the day and time they will arrive. Twice they scheduled appointments and then on the day they were to arrive, sent another text changing the day and time of the appointment. After the second time of this, I called and requested to cancel the service. They informed me there was a $200.00 cancellation fee which I told them I would not be paying. I still have the original pests and they do not show up as agreed. My request is to have the $200.00 cancellation fee removed and not to be contacted by this company again.Business Response

I had Ecoshield pest solutions, come to my house to treat for insect problems Now I want to cancel all services, they have not had any standards when sending untrained people to my house, now they are telling me that I need to give them more money, I just want to cancel all services after having two very bad experiences with them, they have been coming since 2022, every other month. I just want them to stay off my property. I feel that they have caused enough damage, and stress in my life, I have paid for every visit, now I just want this to stop. If I have to call my credit card to block them I will. I'd 62 now, and this seems to me to try and take more money from me, when I want them to go away, and leave me alone. I will find someone else. this is a nightmare, and it is causing me to have high anxiety. I have been paying $149 every 2 months. I don't know how many times. They told me, I agreed to service into ****, I do not want any more trauma from this company, i'm going to start screaming and crying. They are horrible people, with no scruples, or standards. on 08/30/2023 a gentleman showed up at our front door telling us he wanted to tell us how Eco shield was great and all of our neighbors were using them for there pest control my wife explained to them we really were not interested as we did not have the funds at the time and he stated that he would make sure we did not get charged for the first visit his name was ********************************** who claimed to be the owner and he is clearly not the owner, they took our card information and told her it was just procedure for the second visit and she said ok well come to find out they didnt just charge us they over drafted our account and when i called them to tell them what they had done they refused to even speak with me let alone let me speak to this ******** superior about the scam he is running, now not only have i been charged the $149.00 PLUS A $35 OVER DRAFT FEE BUT THEY CHARGED US AGAIN FOR ANOTHER $149.00 they refused to speak to anyone who has any issues there customer service team ***** they are a shady company and should not even be allow to run a business with there less then business practices we just want our money back $333.00Business Response

I recently bought my first home and closed on 07/21/2023. I contacted EcoShield on 07/26/2023 before our move date of 08/01/2023 to inform them that I was needing to update my address with them as follows;Old: **************************************************, ** ***** New: ************************************************** I was wishing to keep their services as I did enjoy it and was wanting to have my new residence sprayed for pests before our move, which was scheduled originally on 07/29/2023 at my old residence, however I was informed that I would be moving outside of their service area and as a result, I would have to cancel/close my account.I was informed to submit to them proof of my new address so that there would be no cancellation charge due to me moving out of the service area and since there were no services rendered, I do not have any balance that is due or past due to this company.
