Employment

An email came through text first then I was asked to sms text message the number. That number was for a recruiter named Sarah from temu who then sent me to WhatsApp to talk to a trainer. The trainer, Winnie, asked if I understood everything. Nothing was provided so I said no and asked if any money out of my pocket would be due at any point in time. Winnie told me she didn’t have time for my questions and told me to read the job posting. I had never received a job post to look at and told her this and that I’d be happy to take a look at one if she would provide a link. She asked for my name, occupation, age, and the town I live. I kept asking if money out of my pocket was due at any point and she kept answering my question with another question, or told me she didn’t have time for my questions. This is a clear cut scam.

I was contacted through e-mail by a supposed recruiter, Emma Balinski, offering a remote job for a Project Manager position. They had a phone number where I could contact them, a website to represent their company and an email from which they sent me a Training Agreement and a supposed breakdown of the Hiring Process. They said I had to complete a background check without a formal interview and offered I do it through a separate institution if I did not feel comfortable doing it through them (promising they would reimburse me). They requested I send them my resume and offered a three (3) week training. Supposedly, they would pay for the training at the end of the third week through direct deposit. I did not fill out any banking information considering I felt unsure of whether it was a scam or not. Afterwards, they would sent me random assignments such as a Project Initiation Task to define goals and objectives, a 4 minute video on Project Management Techniques, and topics of this nature. I looked into the BBB website and read a similar experience about fraudulent companies requesting banking and personally identifiable information in order to scam the public. Therefore, I contacted the actual location they said they were operating from in ON, Canada and they were not even recognized. I blocked their email and felt obligated to share this information for others to avoid this situation as well.

I was originally contacted via text by a person claiming to be from Adecco, who asked if I was interested in a job that I would do for 30-60 minutes a day. I said yes and lady texted I would be contacted by an agent for the company via WhatsApp. This happened and was brought to branchsvip.com to demonstrate the business and what needed to be done. All transactions in and out of the system were done in cryptocurrency. There was one point called a lucky combination where you have to deposit more crypto to proceed and receive higher payment. After doing this once, another came along demanding even more crypto. That’s when I knew I was being scammed.
