Received a scam email from Mark Howell (no linkedin or online presence) from Synbio Therapeutics. A fake company with a vague template-like website. The email claimed to be offering a sales rep job with people making over 6 figures on average.

I was approached by a man offering to pave my driveway with asphalt millings for 10k. I had never heard of recycled asphalt. I was given a business card with a website. The website had reviews, pictures and detailed information about the product and the work offered. The gentleman gave me a local address where he had just completed a job so I could see his work. It looked good. I asked many questions and the answers were satisfactory (longevity, maintenance, durability with northern Ontario’s winter weather). I was hesitant but I figured with the 5 year warranty he offered indicating that all work was fully guaranteed, I could take the risk. Also, he indicated on my written contract that he would be back in 6 weeks to seal my driveway for 400$. About 3 weeks after his crew came to lay the asphalt millings and compact, it became clear that I was misinformed. There were dips where water pooled and multiple spots where there were no fine particles but solely loose gravel so there would never be binding in those areas. I attempted reaching out to him to request that those areas be repaired (calls and text) but never got a response. Evidently, my warranty will never be honoured and he was a no-show for sealing day, as per my contract. The website now showed a different logo and phone number. He did not answer those calls either. I reached out to OPP in response to articles about paving scams but since the product and initial service were given, I am encouraged to go another route to resolve the matter of not honouring the warranty or the follow-up job.

The job listing was found on qualified job search sites like Indeed and LinkedIn. The position being advertised was Transport Quality Advisor. It was advertised as a Remote position offered everywhere in the U.S. The job description was to receive shipments at your home, open the exterior shipment packaging, take images of the manufacturers product/box, then to remove any labeling and official postage. Once the labeling the package arrived with was removed, the requirement was to print a new label, repackage the item(s), attach new label, and ship the items back out through official locations like UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc. The initial phone call from a woman named Jasmine King was an inquiry about you to ensure you suit their basic needs for the position. There were not many personal get-to-know you questions. The "onboarding" process was very quick and felt extremely rushed. The too-good-to-be-true job offer received was $4,400 monthly salary, with a $40 bonus for every package processed and $100 for "VIP" packages that required you to pick up a shipment from locations in your area. You get a 30 day probation period before you receive your first payment, then are promised the $4,400 split into a biweekly pay, after the initial 30 days. The forms of payment provided to choose from were quite odd. You're given the choice of PayPal, Direct deposit to your bank account, Bank Transfer, Paycheck in the mail, Western Union, AdvCash, MoneyGram, Bitcoin, and Credit Card. There is no phone number, only an email, for the accounting department, which is very strange. There is also no way of contacting anyone in higher positions within the company, other than the 3 supervisors you are provided with. The supervisors have emails and phone numbers. However, when calling you do not get an answer. You're required to leave a voicemail until they return your call. Names to look out for regarding supervisors are Doris, Kendall, and Maggie.

Got a call with the job offer as a cargo checker last week and spoke with supposedly a HR lady and she asked me for government ID of front and back to ensure my identity I sent that to her and she sent me a job offer contract and I signed it as she was on the phone and they received the information and said that my manager would be calling out to me on the following week and the manager reached out to me Monday and I spoke with him and he set up my dashboard account went over salary, pay, and everything and told me that this was a great number to contact him back if I needed any additional information or help with any questions so I tried to call that number back and unfortunately, every number that I’ve received a call from by Hawk line isn’t really going through. It will ring a few times and go straight to voicemail and tell me if I want to speak with an operator or something, but it doesn’t give me a hold to anyone nor do they reply to any of the Emails Totally feel like this is a complete scam and they are trying to send packages to my doorsteps for me to identify and for me to basically ship to UPS stores or local shipment stores

When i asked for my money back, they said that I had to be on their platform for 14 days and apply to over 100 jobs (with screenshots) before giving my money back. Such a scam.

The email claimed I had previously applied for a Mechanical Engineer role with them, but I never recalled applying. The message said my “profile stood out” and that they had retained it in their pipeline. It then offered me a new full-time position at $50 per hour if I confirmed my interest. When I researched the company and domain, I discovered it was only created in August 2025 and already flagged by scam-detection sites. There was no legitimate business presence for “CoreVets Works,” and the HR contact name (“Paige Kadaw”) did not appear tied to any real organization. This appears to be an employment scam designed to trick job seekers into providing personal or financial information. I did not reply, but I am reporting this so others can avoid being misled.

The scammer offers a “job” in which you are compensated for liking and following social media accounts that have “paid” for the service. The scammer requires a deposit that varies in amount depending on the “level” you join at. Once you pay, you start your daily tasks and the money build in your account. The scam is long, allowing the legitimacy to build as you are asked to recruit more people in to the scam. You will even be able to actually withdraw some money. With the promise of getting your deposit back whenever you decide to stop “working” for the company, it seems safe at first. Other “investment opportunities” are frequently offered to further tie up your money, and to keep you from withdrawing your built up funds. After some time, the scammer informs everyone that the company is switching systems and we must move over to the new system, which requires another deposit. Withdraws freeze at this point, and after the “switch” is made to the new system, all contact disappears, all funds are missing, and the withdrawals stop. It is at this point the scam is revealed, and the scammer disappears and sets up the scam all over again under a different name.

InstaWork is a fake employer who lures unsuspecting people (job seekers) in between careers to various worksites (job sites) under the guise of potential full time employability. None of the interim job assignments lead to full time employment instead job seekers are taken advantage of on their platforms with business partners. For example, I have been on their platform nearly 2 years. No full time offers have been extended by potential future employers. Instead invitations to date fellow peers occur on a reoccurring basis. Both labor and sex trafficking including human trafficking occurs (illegals aliens are on their platform). The true intent of the platform is to pair up individuals (legal / illegal) in exchange for drugs, sex and/or money. The job seekers sexual encounters with fellow peers are recorded and disseminated within their work group by their figureheads without the unsuspecting person’s explicit consent. Furthermore, the unsuspecting person’s (job seeker’s) personally identifiable information (legal name, date of birth, social security number, address, citizenship documents, banking account information and lastly address) is compromised for the rest of his / her life because it simply fell into the wrong entity’s / entities hands for further distribution and/ or sale without explicit consent. I am a victim of said scams. Recently, after I refused sexual relations with an associate on September 9, 2025 my employment contract was arbitrarily terminated without due or just cause. After I questioned their reasoning for terminating my employment contract I was given circular logic. I.e., nothing specific. A shift policy violation was quoted with no details. I hadn’t completed a shift for their company since January 1, 2025. However, I had repeatedly received job invitations from their company via email since that time. No violation(s) occurred. I rejected a solicitation for sex from an associate which directly led to termination of my employment contract. This company is a part of a global trafficking and identity theft scam. They are selling human capital (trafficking), disseminating revenge porn, distributing drugs and stealing lives (identities). They (corporation) are harm to themselves and others. This business should be terminated for the good of the country and mankind.

Called about a packaging job I inquired about. Asked me questions I had responded “yes” to like a job interview except “no” as I did not have a printer. I was approached about a part-time job helping optimize small business products and increasing their presence via SEO. The first three days went smoothly and during training, I saw the transactions and in hindsight, I can see they were trying to build my trust. By day four, I hit what they call a combination product that took my account into the deficit and had to transfer USD into crypto currency to level the account. Upon returning to the task given, I hit another combination product showing me that I had one over $53,000 and that put my account into $14,500 of a deficit. When I pushed back about making that payment. They said if I cleared the tasks I would gain all the commissions back. I have been going back-and-forth with their customer service department and the person that brought me into this and they are all confirming that this is legitimate and if I close my tasks, I will receive my bonus.

I received an amazing job offer the other day. I was sent an email with important instructions. After doing some research on line the same email has been going around with the same fraud check.

I am enrolled in Indeed for job oppourtunities. The scammer sent text message to me stating they were referred to my by Indeed HR for a remote job. They state the task is to improve how products are seen on Platforms like Amazon, Ebay, Walmart and Best Buy. You basically download an app and you click on images in the testing phase which shows you big earnings. But after you get to the real phase the earnings are only in cents. Then after your payout is at $88 or so you ask to withdraw the funds and they say that you have to add your own funds to meet $100 for withdrawal amount to be approved. When you add your money and they receive it in crypto they start acting very unprofessional and then they block you.

First message I received was a group text stating, “Hello, We at Indeed are currently seeking qualified professionals for a remote opportunity. The role involves assisting with the optimization of app store data to increase page views and download volumes. The tasks are straightforward, and we provide comprehensive training.
