I signed up for Weight Watchers Med Plus program on Feb 19th. The program advertises that "your care team will work with your insurance" and that the program offers "comprehensive support" and promises that a "dedicated care team handles insurance" and that subscribers will have "access to registered dieticians". In order to reduce costs and based on previous positive experiences with Weight Watchers, I signed up for a 12 month subscription. Customers are required to purchase a subscription to access the program. I am now one day away from being on the program for a month and have not been provided the services as advertised. First, it took more than two weeks of daily messages and self-advocacy to convince the insurance team to submit pre-authorizations on my behalf. I had to call my insurance agency to determine eligibility (28 BMI with two weight-related co-morbidities) in order to get WW to submit pre-authorizations. Second, notices in the app-based messaging suggested that the team would submit a "series of preauthorizations" to determine the best option. My team submitted two, only for REMOVEDand Wegovy pens before closing the insurance process. I spoke again with my RX provider who informed me that the authorizations were improperly submitted. Third, members of the promised "comprehensive care team" sent conflicting and contradictory messages on several occasions. Fourth, my clinician did not respond to requests for a meeting for over a week and my diatician cancelled our meeting the same day as our appointment without contacting me or attempting to reschedule. I feel very strongly that I should not be held to a 12 month contract when, after the first month I am completely dissatisfied with the services provided, which are highly inconsistent with the services advertised and outlined on the WW Med+ program website.

On January 27, 2026, I attempted to cancel or change the WW plan that I signed up for. I cannot afford the medication and did not understand that it wasn't part of the weight watchers membership. I called WW and asked to be changed to a lower cost plan because I could not afford the medication and the weight watchers membership. They refused to cancel or change my plan. I have received NOTHING from WW. The terms and conditions from WW are deceptive and unfair and should be stated out front before requiring users to commit to one year of service that they cannot use. I would like a cancellation and no long want to be charged for the service that I have not used.

On March 12, 2026, I signed up online for a WeightWatchers (WW) Med+ membership and was charged $25 for the first month. At the time of signup, I believed the membership could be canceled if I decided the service was not a good fit. After reviewing the membership, I decided that I did not want to continue with the program and attempted to cancel. I have not used the service at all since signing up.When I contacted WeightWatchers to cancel, I was informed that I am locked into a long-term commitment plan and must continue paying $74 per month until the end of the commitment period. I was also told they will no longer discuss canceling the commitment plan.I have documentation of my communications with WeightWatchers showing that I attempted to cancel and resolve this issue.Because I have not used the service and continuing to charge $74 per month would cause financial hardship for me, I am requesting that WeightWatchers cancel my Med+ membership immediately and stop any future billing

      Business Response

      Date: 03/20/2026

We understand the member had a negative experience with our advertising, and we regret any confusion or frustration this may have caused.

We want to clarify that our website provides comprehensive details on a range of membership options, durations, and prices. Our multi-month plans are designed to offer a significant discount compared to our standard rates. Before activating any membership, a clear summary of the payment plan and cancellation policy is presented, and key details are highlighted in bold for easy readability.

Membership activation and billing are subscription-based and are not dependent on utilization of program services or medication. At this time, the member is not eligible for early membership termination, as our program has more to offer than just medications.

      Sincerely,

      Weight Watchers

      [Your Answer Here]

I am rejecting this response because it does not resolve my complaint.

My concern is not about the general policy, but that I was not clearly aware I was entering into a multi-month commitment at the time of enrollment.

I attempted to cancel after realizing this and was not provided a reasonable option to do so.

I am requesting cancellation of my membership with no further charges.

On February 5, 2026, I assumed that I was signing up for discounted weight loss program through REMOVED. On February 9, 2026, I learned through the Weight REMOVEDTeam NP that the cost exceed my budget. I requested to cancel this service and was informed (messages)that I could cancel the contract which is $74 for 1 year. Ive attempted to resolve this issue and have been unsuccessful. I believe that this is a scam because and youre not able to communicate with a care team via telephone. Ive continue to message the team regarding cancellation, hasnt utilized no parts of Weight Watchers. Its unbelievable with the WW Care Team integrity. They are scamming vulnerable people.

I am requesting an immediate cancellation of my $74/month subscription. I was led to believe I was signing up for a standard $25/month program, but the website's layout obscured the actual terms of this year-long commitment.Continuing to bill a customer for an unsuitable service based on 'hidden' contract terms is predatory. I expect a cancellation confirmation and no further charges immediately to avoid further escalation.

I enrolled in Weight Watchers' Med+ plan with a 12-month commitment because it was advertised as providing medication-supported weight loss treatment. My understanding when signing up was that the plan included assistance in obtaining weight-loss medication. After enrolling, I learned that my insurance (REMOVED) would not approve the prior authorization for the prescribed medication. Even with the manufacture savings card, the cost would be $250 a month for the initial five months required to titrate to the therapeutic dose. This cost is completely unrealistic and was not clearly communicated prior to the enrollment.Because of this, I am not receiving the primary service I enrolled for-medication-based treatment. Without insurance coverage, the program provides no meaningful benefit.I contacted Weight Watchers less than one month after enrolling to request cancellation and a refund. I explained that I could not participate in the medication component due to insurance denial and the extremely high out-of-pocket costs. Despite this, Weight Watchers informed me that I am locked into a 12-month commitment and that they cannot cancel my membership. To date, I have been charged $25 and received no medication and no meaningful services (the dietary consult was a complete waste of time, and I received nothing of worth from it whatsoever.). I should not be required to pay for a year-long program that cannot provide the primary service it was marketed to deliver.

While we understand the members frustration, the terms were agreed to. Prior to activating a membership, a short summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy is displayed, with key details emphasized in bold.

Below this summary, there is a mandatory checkbox confirming agreement with these terms. The membership activation is contingent upon this box being checked, and the terms and conditions were agreed to.

We hear the member's feedback and understand that the lack of insurance coverage and cost of medication can be a barrier. However, this is not a valid reason for early membership termination, as our program has more to offer than just medications.

We encourage the member to utilize our program services and features throughout the duration of the commitment period.

      Sincerely,

      Weight Watchers

I entered a 6 month commitment with Weight Watchers Medi Clinic July 30. 2025. However, upon discovering that the advertisement for the GLP-1 prices would increase as dosages increase, I requested to terminate my commitment. I was informed that I had to continue with it until the 6 months had expired. So continued, when that time was up I expected the agreement to terminate. I however, discovered that my checking account had been drafted for $84 in February 2026. I contacted Weight Watchers to explore the issue. I was informed that the account had auto renewed for another 6 months and that I had to continue with the commitment as I did not cancel it manually. I was not sent a notice that this would happen by email or letter. I informed them today 03/09/2026, that I no longer desired to continue and that I wanted to terminate immediately. I was informed that their terms would not allow it. I shared with them that their business practice is unethical. There is communication in the chat feature from August 2025 indicating my displeasure and my desire to terminate. I only continued then because I committed to the 6 months and it would end by the end of January 2026. I have attached the referenced communication below.

Tricked into a year long commitment & many hidden additional charges. I signed up without being properly & clearly up front explaining the commitment & additional charges before being trapped into the introductory fee price to find out the other information. A $25 initial fee for 1 month turned into $74.99 for an additional year. Even if you are not approved to Weight Watchers medical GLP1 drug. I was charged & trapped before being told I needed to pay $284 for a dietitian. I dont want one. I already have one free through my personal doctor. Then unless you pay you cant see clearly what the GLP1 drugs would cost. Thats not rightThen I dont use the app any further and cancel the service within hours of signing up. You cant teach a live person at all. You must chat through an app where youre basically told sorry to bad to joined. Then I tell them I had a thyroid REMOVEDin a lymph node. They wrongly make me stay in the program for a year!!!! To the tune of $900 This is not a good business practice at all. The entire app, way of communicating throughout is anything but dishonest. I find it so very deceptive and deceitful! Not a company/organization to trust ever ever again!!!!!I want to be refunded my $25, cancelled affective 3/2/26 after signing up on 3/1/26 and never charged a single time for $74.99 through the duration of this so-called agreement year through 03/2027!!!!!

I signed up for this program 2/2/26. I started my research and browsing on their website on my computer, then they said to continue I had to scan a IR code and switch to my phone. Having no choice I did and then I signed up for a program that doesn't even come with the medication I was trying to get and accidentally signed up for a nutrition consultation thinking it came with the program I was signing up for. The app doesn't make it easy to find that the program you are signing up for does not include the medication and they also don't make it clear that the nutrition consultation is not included. I was quite frustrated with the entire experience and felt if I had been able to stay on the computer and continued reading and signing up on there I would have been able to better follow the information. This felt very scammy and I wanted a refund for the issues. I have been refunded for the nutrition after multiple complaints but they will not refund the Med+ plan even though I immediately wanted a refund. None of this feels right and reading other reviews it is evident I am not the only one that has run into this issue with their app being misleading and making information hard to find. This does not feel like good business practices.
