I am writing to formally address the matter raised in your recent communication. To date, I have not received a letter clearly stating the nature of this alleged debt or providing any relevant details regarding its origin. I have no recollection of ever utilizing any application or service that would incur a financial obligation on my part, nor have I been informed of any late payments or outstanding balances.
After conducting a thorough review with *********** I can confirm that there is no record of any delinquent accounts or unfamiliar obligations under my name. My financial record is clear, and I have only one active debt, which pertains solely to my student loan.
Furthermore, you indicated that this alleged debt is approximately 15 years old. Please be advised that, at this point, the debt has exceeded the applicable statute of limitations and is therefore legally unenforceable.
If you wish to proceed with legal action, you are entitled to do so. However, please be advised that my legal counsel and I have gathered sufficient evidence to contest any such claim, and we are confident in achieving a favorable outcome.
Moreover, I must insist that you refrain from contacting my place of employment. This is a place of business, and the owner has already indicated that they will pursue legal action should you continue to make such calls.
Please also note that this matter will be reported to the Better Business Bureau.
I appreciate your immediate attention to these concerns and expect that any further correspondence will be directed to me in writing at the address provide.Business Response

Keep getting calls from Mac Financial daily at place or business and home for a debt they state is owed. I have denied the claims that i owe any monies to ******** **** ***********.
Asked representative for his name and stated my name as his own and said they will call as often as they like,
Offered to supply copy of my credit report to show there is nothing on my file, and they stated the file was over 7 years ago. At this time i informed them this would be long past the statue of limitations no matter what province I or they are located in and still said "we are going to collect from you one way or another". Need both my work and cell number removed from their systems and any further calls to cease, as it is soon time to contact a lawyer and sue for harassment!!!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because the collection account is still on my credit report.5th March,2025 - First appearance on my credit report. Dispute filed with ********** and resolved in March and removed from my credit report.
7th April ,2025- Second time appearance on my credit report after removal on my credit report in March. Currently Second time dispute filed with **********.
Called And tried to ask explanation multiple times from business, but the business refused to help with it.
As can be seen now as well, the business is concentrating on having a chat rather than doing some work.
Further delay in removal of collection account from my credit report will be considered as willingly harassment to me by the business.

We have reviewed *** ************
*** ***** ** * ********** **** ******* ** ** **** * Trans Union app. The message reads that there was a new collection reported on 03/05/2025
for $467. There is another message that
states there was a new collection on 04/07/2025 for $478.
The second ********** ** * ********** from an unidentified source. It lists our collection item. There is an assigned date of 01/20/2025. A reported date of 04/21/2025.
We spoke to this consumer for the
first time on 04/15/2025. They have a
different name than the person who has incurred this debt. This consumer has called us twice.
We have reported this debt to the
credit bureau using the information that we have on file. The information that we have is a different
name, different date of birth and different address.
This appears to be an error on the
part of the credit bureaus. Our advice
would be to contact the credit bureaus and file a credit history dispute. We cannot remove this debt because we have
supplied the correct information.Customer Answer

The amount from ******** **** credit card was $500 , and Mac financial took over the claim and now want $1,750.00.this was also 11 years ago as it has passed the time... and they keep adding more money to it and call 2 or 3 times a week.Business Response
Date: 15/04/2025
The consumer has not repaid a credit card for over 5 years. There is an interest rate on this debt. Receiving phone calls is a normal occurrence when you have an outstanding debt. We ask the consumer to contact our office if he wishes to resolve the debt.Customer Answer

The credit card was with ******** **** and not mac financial, and not making any payment arrangements with them as it has been over 10 yrs .the credit card was $500 ,and to pay back more then 3x the amount is crazy. The statue of limitations should be over. If I made any payments I would with ******** **** and not this collection agency. As they wouldn't remove it from my credit report. I have an outstanding debt of less than $800 with a credit card company that I haven't be able to pay and recently, April 1st, received a letter that states that if I don't pay MAC Financial Recovery the outstanding debt within 7 days of the letter, legal action may be initiated and then go on to say "In the event we obtain a judgment against you in a court of law, MAC FINANCIAL RECOVERY INC. will have the ability to garnish wages and/or place liens on any assets you may possess." which is threatening and intimidating language and using undue pressure, all of which isn't allowed by the federal government.Business Response
Date: 02/04/2025
Our intent is not to use undue pressure. This is a credit card for $764.53 that has been unpaid for nearly two
years. Our letter is compliant with Federal
debt regulations. We ask that the
consumer contact our office to resolve the account.Customer Answer
Date: 03/04/2025
Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because in your letter, you clearly did use threatening and intimidating language and in fact did put me under undue pressure. Telling someone you will take them to court over $760 debt especially when it's the first time you have even tried to contact the person is clearly an attempt to intimidate the person and the person under undue pressure and therefore you are not following federally regulations. Therefore, I will not be paying this debt at all. Also, considering I was contacted a year ago by another collections agency about this debt and in their letter, they actually have the correct information regarding this debt and you don't, I'm confident you're just ******** which is another reason I will not be paying you anything. Good Bye.
Sincerely,
*** ********Initial Complaint
