We sold a van in good faith on 8/11/2021 to an individual. We did what was suppose to be done and reported the sale to DMV and called it good. Unfortunately we get mail from Diamond Parking saying we owed them $91 in February of 2024. My wife promptly emailed them saying we sold the vehicle and showed them the written BoS and the screen shot that we are no longer owners of this vehicle. No word comes so my wife calls, the lady was rude and brisk, said there is nothing that can be done we obviously have the proof and they won't send us to collections. The letters stop for a short period of time. Then now in July 2024 we are getting letters again but this time more urgent. I need to make this bill go away that isn't ours and I do not want to deal with a credit company trying to collect from them. Every time we try calling Diamond Parking it is a long wait time and no real customer ********************** Now in July of 2024 we areBusiness Response

Re: Diamon Parking Notice # **********
BBB Complaint # ********
Thank you for contacting Diamond Parking Services. We are responding to a complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau.
You have advised us that you have sold or transferred the vehicle that received a parking notice from Diamond Parking. Please refer to the sections below marked with an X. These are explanation related to the complaint.
__X___ We have received your Bill of Sale or Transfer of Ownership form with the buyers details. Thank you. This document, however, is insufficient as proof sale because it does not provide any information related to the buyer or the buyer's signature authorizing the transfer. We have not updated the records to the buyers information or the prior owners you have provided on an official form. I have attached the correct form to provide regarding the sale of the vehicle.
__X____ The *** shows that you are still listed as the registered owner of this vehicle and the transfer is pending, and we have removed you from the notice(s) and will stop the recovery mail from coming to you. IMPORTANT NOTE: The buyer has not registered this purchase and has not paid the fees and taxes within thirty days of purchase, a violation of State laws with penalties of up to $250. The buyer has NOT paid the parking notices fines. A seller can ensure proper transfer to the buyer and avoid this problem by removing the license plates from any vehicle you sell privately or by meeting the buyer at the *** office to ensure that the transfer occurs successfully.
__X___ You are the registered owner on the official *** records. We are required to use the official records to identify the responsible party for our parking notices. The buyer has not registered it. In such cases, the *** does not update the buyers information until and if the buyer registers the vehicle, the second step in the transfer process. If you have not yet done so, please provide us with a copy of the bill of sale or *** document OR BILL OF SALE FROM THE DEALERSHIP. No handwritten paperwork please. With these documents, we will remove you as the listed owner on the parking notice(s).
___X__ You dont have the buyers name and complete address? If you do not have the contact information for the buyer, we will still stop parking notices from coming to you in the mail when you send us the release of liability document or a bill of sale. We will remove you entirely for our notices with a completed transfer form with buyers name and full address provided.
If you should have any questions, please contact our office at **************. Please call or e-mail us rather than sending letters in the mail to expedite the resolution of this issue. This is an attempt to collect a debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.
Under the provisions of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the **************************** Act (WCAA), we are required to provide you with the following notification (which is required by law to be included in all correspondence concerning the collection of outstanding parking fees and penalties, even if such fees and/or penalties have been waived or resolved as in this case):
Sincerely, *********

I received a notice of a parking violation at *************** in *******, ** via mail, that included a link to photos of my vehicle with a ticket on the passenger side under the wiper blade. The photo did show my vehicle with my license plate. The violation notice stated that I had exceeded the allotted (3 hour) parking limit, and was showing that the photos were taken at approximately 3:01pm on April 16, 2024. I had just arrived at the location and parked in that spot at about 2:40 pm for an appointment, coming from work, where I was working from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Upon arrival to my vehicle from the appointment at 4:00pm, there was NO ticket on my vehicle. I sent the appeal, and ultimately they told me "too bad" and that I had been parked there. I attempted to contact them by email and by phone, and did receive an email stating that they would reduce the cost, however I never received a phone call. The file was eventually sent to collections, where the letter said that Diamond towing had sent me notices (correct), and had tried calling me multiple times (false).Business Response

Today, July 12th 2024, I parked at my work at 9 am, where I am permitted to park by my employer. I didnt return to my car until 5 which is when I saw a parking ticket from Diamond Parking LTD. The ticket said it was for unauthorized parking (which is untrue) and they said that it was because I parked in the parking lot and then walked off to the mosque across the street. They claim this occurred at 2:09 which cannot be possible as I was inside my work the entire time. Ive known about this problem but this is the first time its happened to me. This company puts tickets on random cars and claim that theyve walked off to the mosque. They are fraudulent and try to scare people into paying their tickets. Its a frequent occurrence that customers and staff are getting ticketed for no reason as they are patrons of the business I work at, not people going to the mosque. I called the number on the ticket and they cancelled the ticket but they said that its still a warning. When I asked them to make it so it wasnt a warning they said there was nothing they could do.Business Response

I have appealed my parking ticket twice. Diamond Parking denied my appeal. They mailed me the final notice . The outstanding amount has gone to collections now. On May 12 2024 Mother's Day I was issued the ticket. The parking regulations is that I have to be shopping in the complex to be able to park on the lot. I am the owner of the car. I visited the coffee shop ( the business) in the parking lot. I have a receipt from having Mother's Day a meal/ice cream dine in at the ******************** and cafe in the same parking lot. I was at the businesses in the parking lot. Please kindly reverse the ticket and let me know. Diamond Parking advertises their We Care program on the signs in their parking lots. It says they offer free assistance for things like flat tires or locking your keys in your car. On Tuesday, June 11th at around 7 pm I called their We Care number for assistance because I locked my keys in my car. I was in their lot at ************************************************************ and called the number on the sign. Location code 3924. Since the office was closed I followed the prompts on the We Care line for my area and was connected to Advance Towing. I told the man that answered that I was calling from a Diamond Parking lot and told him where it was located. He sent a tow truck over but told the driver to charge me. I showed the driver the sign in the parking lot and said thats the number I called. Driver said thats not our phone number. I explained I knew that but thats the number I called. He said he didnt know anything he was just told to charge me So I called the We Care number again, followed the prompts and was again connected to Advance Towing. I started to tell the man that answered that I was confused because Im calling the Diamond parking we care line and he rudely cut me off saying were not Diamond parking and hung up on me. I sent all of this information to Diamond Parking on June 13th, asking to be reimbursed, and it is now July 6th and all Ive heard from them is that they are investigating. It took two weeks to just get that. I feel like they dont care that I was defrauded by a company they contracted to work for them.Business Response

After parking in our ******* parking lot, I went across the street to give a homeless guy some money. After no more than three minutes, I returned and shopped at *******. After finishing, I cam outside to find this ticket on my windshield claiming I left the parking lot. Not thinking to much of it, I emailed the company explaining that I simply went to give a homeless man money. They responded with "no business may be conducted outside th parking lot". I tried to explain that donations to the homeless does not count as business, but they refused to respond to said claim. I then noticed that the ticket was made one minute after I pulled in, meaning that someone was ready and waiting hoping to get a quick payday. I was very disgruntled to see them conduct themselves in such an inhumane manner, and I don't believe that giving someone ten dollars is the worth an $86.50 ticket. This is a gross misconduct and an awful humanitarian situation to be put in. If people can't help there fellow person without being penalized by private corporations, what the h*** are we doing.Business Response

Hello,
Thank you for your email. Our goal with any customer, is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future. All parking rules have been created by the property owners. Diamond Parking has been hired to enforce these parking rules as posted on the property due to the unauthorized use on the facility. One of the rules posted is you are not permitted to leave the property without your vehicle, or you can be ticketed and/or towed. You can park for free while conducting business on the property. Once you leave the lot you are in violation. Specifically in your case, you were witnessed by our patroller leaving the lot which put you in violation, and the patroller is contracted to immediately issue a notice. You appealed stating you sopped for a n hour, however, there was not receipt/documentation provided whit this claim. This being the only ticket on this plate, I have extended a one-time courtesy void.

There was a parking ticket left on my vehicle from Diamond Parking Service on June 26 at ************* in *******. The picture of license plate on ticket and the recorded plate number on ticket do not match. If this was a police issued ticket, it would be dismissed as the information is incorrectly recorded. I have contacted Diamond Parking and have not heard from them. If their officers issuing tickets are unable to enter information correctly, I wonder how many other people have tickets that were not correct. I am expecting a response from company as the only way to contact them via their portal and they do not respond. I have now turned to the BBB in assistance to get a response.Business Response

On Friday June 12th at 5 :41 I parked at ********************************************************. I had to use my personal cell phone and cell service to purchase a parking ticket due to there not being a diamond parking kiosk. or even a receipt printed after paying for parking. I took a screenshot of my parking payment. I went to dinner; I came back well before my expiration of time and found a ticket issued for non payment 3 minutes after I parked. I was shocked and upset as I paid for parking. There was an unhelpful employee looking around and issuing tickets with headphones in and I tried to get their attention and was ignored despite yelling very loudly to get their attention, I was unsuccessful. I left upset and angry, i tried to call them and got the message we were not accepting call due to heavy call volumes, gee I wonder why? no employees, no one cares just out committing fraud. My parking number was *********. My ticket number issued by the headphone employee I received for paying is reference number ********** checker number 2072. I have screenshots of all this, I will submit. At this Point my resolution will be a refund of parking and a charge of $50.00 for my time and the use of my personal cell phone and personal cell service to buy a $5.26 parking space downtown only to be hassled and defrauded. this is unacceptable behavior. it's very egregious and the number of complaints on the BBB website with the same issue someone needs to do something about this fraud being committed on the public for of piece of asphalt for a short time.Business Response

On 6/20/24 my partner and I parked in a parking lot monitored by Diamond Parking. We paid at pole F047 at 8:36pm but found a parking ticket from 9:50pm when we returned to our vehicle. I disputed the notice/ticket, sharing proof of payment for our parking spot. They responded with the decision to REDUCE my fine. I see no legal or ethical reason I would need to pay any fine, as I had not committed any infractions.Business Response
