Ordered a wedding ring for my husband from Blue Nile on 3/12/25 order number #**********. The all in cost of the ring was *******. Part of our reason for choosing Blue Nile was the speed, quality, and free resizing offer. As expected when my husband got his ring it was a little big so after the wedding we had to send it in to be resized. Blue Nile received the ring on 4/11/24, it is now 5/28/24 and no progress has been made on my husbands ring. It sat for over a month with no word from Blue Nile. Then every day the shipping date would move one day farther. It took me calling several times before they ever communicated they were having trouble finding someone who could resize the ring. A product they sold...now they are unable to service? Finally after several calls they told me they were just going to replace. AMAZING! I knew how fast the original ring had come. New order # is #********** Well, that was 10 days ago now, and again no movement on the production side, and when I contact customer service they say they do not know what the delay is and will have to contact their team which could take 48 hrs to respond. This is absolutely unreasonable. I need prompt service and response from Blue Nile. My husband has been without his wedding ring for almost 2 months now...not an experience a newly wed wants.Business Response

I purchased a beautiful wedding band in May of 2023 from Blue Nile, the process was easy and fast. However, within just a couple of months some of the diamonds on the band cracked and it needed repair. I took the band into the store and asked about repairs. The salesman, *****, stated it would take 4-6 weeks to get the ring back, and that I would receive updates via email regarding the ring. I agreed and sent it off. At the 4 week **** I had no update so I called Blue Nile **************** and spoke to a representative. She said she'd submit a ticket to find out where my ring was in the repair process. I never heard back. I called again, same story, they didn't know where it was and to wait for an update. No update. I then tried calling the showroom I purchased from directly, 4 calls later and still no resolution. Each call was met with "Let me check on this and I'll call you back in 20 minutes to follow up." No follow up ever happened from any of the calls I have made. Blue Nile was made known of date of the wedding celebration we have with our friends and family, and that I needed the ring back by then. It's tomorrow, I have no ring. I do not recommend anyone do business with Blue Nile at this point. They have a complete and utter disregard for customer care and communication. They do not follow through on any promises made. I will not spend another dollar here, and suggest you invest your money somewhere else.Business Response

My wedding date passed without any offer of a replacement ring or any rush to my repair. I appreciate the direct line of communication Blue Nile has established, however we are no closer to me getting my ring back or a replacement ring.

I am rejecting this response. I have been working with the customer service representative they have assigned to my case, however the resolution has been awful. After my ring being with Blue Nile for over 8 weeks, they have located the ring and no repair has been made. In fact, I was hit with a bill of $1836 to repair the ring. I dropped it off with 3 cracked diamonds and they say it now has 7. In addition, when questioned about the quality of their diamonds, if 7 cracked in 10 months of wear, the employee responded with I cannot and will not comment on that. How am I supposed to wear this ring for the next 60 years? I went to my local jeweler and received a ballpark quote of $1200 based on the damage and the ring specifications, which is much less than Blue Niles $1836 quote, after my ring being missing for 8+ weeks. Awful, awful customer care.

I am rejecting this response. While the ring is supposedly awaiting shipment, I do not have it yet and do not know the condition in which it will be returned to me. To my knowledge it was left with Blue Nile with 3 cracked diamonds, and now has 7. In addition, the ring is being returned in the same, or worse condition than it was sent in, with no repairs made, and no compensation for the hours of calls, emails and stress from this situation. I have never been so disgusted and upset at a business, let alone a business who received over $5000 of my money. Until the ring is completely back in my possession, repairs are made, and some kind of compensation is provided for this horrible experience, I will not accept the response. Everyone who has laid eyes on this situation has to know it is not right, I have not been treated right.

I have received my ring. I asked for it to be overnighted June 4, 2024, it was not sent until June 11, 2024, and was received June 12, 2024 covered in Sharpie marks. It was not cleaned or anything prior to returning the item to me. I then had to take the ring to be cleaned before being able to do anything with it.Customer Answer

They did not finish the job, it was sent back to me in the same condition they received it in, worse in fact - covered in permanent marker. However I have received it. I had hoped for some sort of consolation for the issues, ie repairing for less than what it was quoted to me, or financially compensating me for the hours on the phone, the headache, the heartache of not having it for my wedding, etc.Business Response

I placed an order for a ring with my preferred shipping address and wired money to Blue Nile. Before the ring was shipped out, Blue Nile reached out to me saying that they could not ship to the listed address due to it being a mailbox center (Postal Annex). I said no problem, and provided an alternate address. This new address is in a different area code, and therefore the tax rate was marginally different. The tax amount ended up being slightly less, so I was due a refund for that amount. When I saw that I was owed a refund, I called Blue Nile to ask how the refund would be handled, and I was told that it would be wired back to my account. The following week, I received an email saying that a check would be mailed out to my billing address instead. Well, we have informed delivery, so my fiance is able to see all of the mail being delivered before it actually gets here, so I immediately called back and asked them if they could wire me the money as initially discussed. They told me that for refunds under $100, their policy is to send a check. I told them fine, and provided them an alternate address. This was over a month ago. They said a check would be mailed out later that week, then the next week. Then the next. I've now talked to 4 different people at Blue Nile and still no refund. My tone during my calls finally changed to one of frustration/anger, and I requested a refund via wire since that should be instantaneous. This was 2 weeks ago. The reps over there continue to tell me that they are following up with their ********************* who are unreachable via phone or email. Two weeks after my wire request, I called back again and they asked me for my wire info. I sent that over within 15 minutes of that phone call. I still have no refund and all they can tell me is they are looking into it. I'm fed up with all of this. I am always the one to reach out, there is no follow up on their end. I just want my $77 refund and I will never do business there again.Business Response

Just happened around April 18 2024 found the perfect engagement ring, and when i checked out I wanted to take advantage of their 12months 0 financing program so whent ahead and applied and got approved for 3 times more than what its was worth. So I went ahead a made the purchase and it got cancelled, I went ahead and made it again and cancelled, I called the bank and they told me there was no problem, so I called blue. **** went ahead and made a purchase and it got canceled again, called blue Nile and they told me it got flagged and they wont let me make an order even though everything is good, they told me to wire money or I cant make a purchase. So all I got was a hard inquiry on my credit score and a useless credit card. Seems like shady business to me to let people apply for a credit account and not let them make a purchase. I purchased the ********************************** from Blue Nile and it was received on 1/12/2024. It was for my wife and I's 10 year wedding anniversary at the end of January. About two weeks after wearing the ring, my wife noticed that is was mis-shapen in more of an oval shape than round. Seeing how Blue Nile has a lifetime warranty on their jewelry, I put in for a return. I mailed the ring out and right off the bat I was forced to call and email Blue Nile multiple times as noone was getting back to me. Finally, I received an email from an employee stating that the ring appeared to be very worn and had a cracked diamond. My wife had worn the ring for two weeks and there was no sort of trauma the right went through. Their only options they said were to give me a discount on a new ring or repair the ring at a cost. Immediately, I said this was not acceptable as the ring was brand new and worn for two weeks. There is clearly a manufacturers defect with this ring. Originally, I was asking for a replacement, but after the headaches of dealing with Blue Nile customer service, I demanded a refund as I did not want to give this company any business. After replying to the first communication, nobody got back to me. I had to call about 3 times before I got someone to respond. That person then told me everything with the ring was fine and it was normal wear and tear. The employees are completely irresponsible and are just making up stories without even looking at the ring. I am requesting a full refund for this ring or a full repair. The last gentlemen, **** I spoke with told me that I could not talk to a manager or supervisor and he was the last in line. He was not as his title is a customer relations specialist. He was also unwilling to give me the address of the main office for the company. I will be filing a complaint with the Secretary of State as well and looking for a resolution.Business Response

Order number: **********. Dated Placed: 3/22/2024. When I placed the order, the estimated shipping date was 4/3, but it was then delayed to 4/5. When I contacted the customer support on 4/5, I was told that the estimated shipping date is again delayed to 4/8. I have planned my proposal on 4/10 morning and Must receive the ring on 4/9. If I cannot receive the ring on 4/9, I am forced to buy a ring locally and CANCEL this order for full refund. I heard that BBB complain is a good way to have staff look at my order. I purchased a diamond and setting from Blue Nile on 03/23/2024 for a scheduled delivery date of 04/08/2024. On 03/27/2024, Blue Nile offered 25% off on settings (French Pav Diamond Engagement Ring In 14k White **** (1/4 **. Tw.) - $1,470) now $1,102 on sale. I called into customer service on 03/27/2024 and was promised a credit of $368. Blue Nile provided no email confirming the credit after the call. After not receiving the credit or email confirming the adjustment, I've called in twice and emailed to follow up and request the credit I was promised. I do a lot of business online and It doesn't take anyone a week or more to process a credit to customers credit card.Its clear from other BBB complaints Blue Nile has had persistent issues with issuing credit. Blue Nile has had more than a week, and I expect my credit processed ASAP. If I don't see my credit by close of business 04/05/2024, I will escalate my complaint to the State Attorney General. On March 11th, 2024, I paid over $9,220 via wire transfer for an engagement ring from Blue Nile's website. Order No: #********** was Paid in Full on the order date of 3/11/2024, with an estimated shipping date of 3/25/2024. The specific Engagement Ring is a Riviera Pav Diamond Engagement Ring in a band and of 14k White **** (1/6 ct. tw.) (item-195326)?The Diamond itself is an Oval cut, 1.20 crt D IF EX EX - which stands for Exquisite-Exquisite ******** Internally Flawless -- the highest quality Diamond characteristics offered. The initial estimated shipping date of 3/25/2024 came with no response or notification of shipping. After buyer inquiries, the merchant advising that the shipping was delayed, and amended to 3/28/2024. After that date came to pass, the merchant - once again, advised that it was delayed. Further after several calls and emails, the buyer contacted to see if there was a stand-in temporary ring to use for the proposed date. ***** had to travel to a brick and mortar location over 20 miles away, to pick up a temporary, dummy ring to use in order to not miss the proposed date. Subsequently, the estimated shipping date was once again changed, this time an entire week later to 4/5/24. On 4/3/2024 ******************************* from Blue Nile emailed consumer that the ring will be even further delayed, yet again. Marking the 5th delay in shipping. Even more egregious, she advised that they do not even have another expected shipping date - and even worse, that they do not have foresight as to when they will even know. Even more shockingly, Blue Nile attempted to offer 3 lesser quality diamonds, all smaller in Carat Weight, and also with inferior quality. This amounts to a bait & switch that reeks of consumer fraud.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because there have been no communication to indicate that the Diamond is unavailable - instead, Blue Nile has advised repeatedly that they are awaiting the Diamond to clear through ************* Customs clearance - hence, it is available, it is in the U.S. and it is arriving; they are just delayed in clearing it through customs (latest communication stating this attached as evidence).There is no indication that the Diamond has become unavailable due to vendor discretion. This submission by Blue Nile to BBB is in & of itself deceptive. The last communication at 4/4/24 at 15:09 EST (attached) indicates that we are still waiting on the diamond in U.S. Customs to get through the clearance at the ****. Nothing has been said that the Diamond is unavailable however they have been advising by and through legal counsel that if this has been a lie then they will be subject to legal action under the Consumer Fraud Act.

I purchased a diamond from Blue Nile in December. Then I purchased the setting the following month. In order to have the diamond set I would have to return the diamond Toto Blue Nile. I was told it would vm e sent out next day well ************************************* the showroom and had not been sent back for setting. It is impossible to speak with a manager and cant get a date of when I will receive it. We are going on vacation on 3/15 and I was going to propose and BN has most likely destroyed this plan. I purchased a wedding band for my husband to be from Blue Nile in December of 2023. The ring arrived in January and was too small, so I returned it for a resizing. I was informed this would take 4-6 weeks. We received no communication for over a month. I called and was told that the ring was finished being resized, and should be shipping out within two weeks. Two weeks later, we have no ring, no response from Blue Nile, and no shipment date. I called again, as we are now 8+ weeks into the promised 4-6 week turnaround time, and I was told that they would reach out to the vendor and email me an approximate ship date. We received zero communication. I called again, and was told this time that the order needs to be updated from a resize to an exchange, and it never was, and I could either wait until someone decides to send my husbands ring, or spend the money out of pocket to buy ANOTHER ring and wait 5+ weeks for a refund. Are you joking???? They lied about resizing it, they lied about the work that was being done to it, they actually never touched the ring. They lied about the ship dates, they lied about the work being completed. Is this ring even real metal, or is that a lie too? The wedding is approaching faster and faster and my husband STILL HAS NO RING. And we still have NO ANSWERS on when or if theyre ever going to ship it. And Im out about $1000. My ideal resolution?
