      I dealt with this company in June and felt that they unfairly kept my deposit because of the situation described below.
      JMAX Salem, VA company has nine and soon to be 10, one-star ratings on ****. They deserve a zero rating for service, responsiveness, and ethical behavior. I will be evaluating them soon across social media platforms and filing a small claims suit against them for an apartment I attended to rent in ******** ** for myself and a relative. I was approved and the relative was not because the virtual application process was so cumbersome that it was impossible to complete the process. I have lost $1800, on an apartment that I never occupied. They are attempting to keep a month’s rent. Although the company has a Salem. VA address it is totally virtual and applicants have to use *******, ************, and ***** rental insurance regardless of income and credit rating. After we uploaded my relative’s drivers license, bank statements, and employment information, it was wiped out and we were told that we could not mail or hand deliver documents. Their business practices are dishonest and misleading. I have dealt with Searina, Anna, and Steve. Steve is the owner. I blame myself for not having done due diligence in advance of the payment of fees.

      Don’t live unless you are only going to for a year cause after that you’re rent is going up at least 100$ a year if you have a problem with anything you can’t get ahold of anyone but a voice recording they will find any way to extort money from you plus the rent they advertise doesn’t include and extra insurance fee they charge 40$ a month for air filters and you can get the same cheap *** ones from **** ***** for 15$ for a pack of three please unless you have no choice don’t deal with these *******!!
