    Based on the fact that that I have easily received *****+ call from "*******", the name given by the robo caller recording they use before transferring the call to someone on the other side of the world, Alarm.com must be nothing but a Scam. A real business would not continue to call a phone number on the do not call list that many times and multiple times per day. They likely have plausible deniability, i.e., some marketing company or 3rd party agent, but "***" the Indian or Pakistani told me they work for Alarm.com. For the record, I will NEVER do any business with Alarm.com for this fact alone.

We provide a software-as-a-service platform used by companies in the security and home automation industry. Alarm.com does not sell any of its products or services directly to consumers, it does not install such products, nor does it place telemarketing calls to consumers.  Instead, Alarm.com sells its technology exclusively to security service providers that, in turn, incorporate Alarm.coms technology into their own security offerings which they independently sell to consumers. It is important to note that these security service providers are independent companies and are not affiliates or authorized agents of Alarm.com. They are not selling security services on behalf of Alarm.com, nor are they authorized to do so.

    We take compliance with federal and state laws and regulations very seriously and have a strong interest in protecting against the unauthorized use of Alarm.coms name and brand. We would appreciate your cooperation in providing us with any information you have about the company who contacted you so that we can look into this matter further.

    I purchased my alarm system directly from Alarm.com believing I would own the equipment. Unfortunately, I later discovered that even though I paid for it, Alarm.com refuses to provide the installer code, meaning the system cannot be used with another provider after cancellation. This makes the hardware I bought essentially worthless outside of their service.Equally concerning, Alarm.com failed more than once to call me when my alarm actually went off. When I raised this issue, they admitted fault but offered no real resolution. This shows a lack of care for both customer safety and accountability.Instead of addressing these problems, their only response was to offer a lower monthly fee. The reality is that customers should not be locked into a service by having their equipment crippled, nor should they ever have to question whether their alarm provider will respond in an emergency.This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Alarm.coms practices feel misleading and unsafe. For anyone considering them, I strongly recommend staying away.

    The equipment is not great - and very expensive. The app is also poor given that you cant zoom live videos. Half the time I cant even see what is on the screen. Plus, you are forced to pay a subscription fee to save videos - even if you buy their expensive NVR. The other day 3 of my 4 cameras stopped detecting motion. My (non-Alarm.com) installer spent an hour and could not solve the issue. He called his tech contact at Alarm.Com and told them I was on speaker. The Alarm.com agent told my installer that he could not find a problem. Despite my installer asking multiple times, the Alarm.com tech guy would not agree to escalate the issue. He said they really dont have a way to do that (???). At that point I told my installer to forget it. We then discussed what cameras he uses at his house. I ended up buying 4 cameras, a 2TB NVR and a no cost app for $570 - slightly more than the cost of 1 4MP Alarm.com camera. The cameras I bought are far superior to Alarm.com: They are 8MP, color night vision, 5X digital zoom and *********** installation. Im actually happy the Alarm.com stuff was so crappy or I would not have found the new option. I just wish I had looked harder upfront and saved $2,600 on 4 inferior Alarm.com cameras and wiring.

    subpar video camera and when it stopped working they charged me to fix it - then it stopped working AGAIN about 2 weeks later and they charged me to fix it AGAIN. I then told them that it wasn't sending me the proper notifications and they told me I needed to ****** it because if someone helped me figure it out they would have to charge me again. I consider this HORRIBLE customer service. I could get a ring doorbell that works better for a quarter of the cost.

    How did they get an A+ rating with nothing but terrible reviews ? We had a good security company until we installed cameras and they made us do everything through this horrible app. Now sensors go off all the time for no reason, the cameras are low resolution even though they cost a fortune and the monitoring fee practically doubled. YOU CANNOT CALL OR REACH ANYONE AT THIS COMPANY. Yet my entire security system I way overpaid for is run through it. I did not choose to have my security run through a bleeping app. My cameras have been down for weeks because I changed Internet providers and the only way to reset them is by getting on a ladder and manually resetting each one. Thats ridiculous !! I hate every single thing about this app except for being able to see my video feeds remotely.. when the cameras are working.

    Bought a new house and it came with an IQ panel. I DO NOT use it for security just to automate my thermostat and open doors. Now that my 3 years is up they want me to pay a subscription for something that should just be free. I do not need alarm monitoring. I already paid for the doorbell, garage door, and door lock I should not have to PAY MORE just to change the thermostat from my phone. Just another company trying to make everything a subscription to bleed more money from people.

    Would not recommend the service. They aren't very helpful and tell you that you need to get in contact with the local provider who installed the device. If you have an issue with the devices, or billing you will likely have to call 2-3 phone numbers and then be transferred to different departments. It's a headache and there are better/easier companies to use. Also be careful of any service agreement you sign. Their sales reps have poor ethics and don't have any issue lying.

    Had a Alarm.com Video Doorbell installed in April 2024. Occasionally, cannot connect to the doorbell through our alarm app. Called our alarm company that installed it. They said there was no warranty on the doorbell, but they would be happy to come out to check and bill us for it. ??
