  I liked the security measures that ID.me took to ensure my security. It is very important to me that my familys information is secure and only ID. Me can access our information. Thank you so much for offering resources out there to people that are in need for help.

  Super easy to use. It was quick. Make sure you have your ID handy and internet. It only took minutes. I was a little nervous about providing my social security number and birth date on line. Scan your card on a flat surface, with no shadows, in good lighting, and it captures your id the first time. Make sure your address and phone number are up to date in your credit profile. It wants to send a confirmation to your phone and mine was my old house phone. I had to send the confirmation to my husbands phone number. Once I was confirmed I was able to update the old phone number. It took about 15 minutes to complete.

  ID.me is one of the most secure ways to get to your government or financial data. It uses a three step or 3 factor authentication method - password/passkey, 6-digit phone authorization code, biometric validation of live selfie with government license. Although the third step may sometimes prove to be bad, say in the case of a facial accident, or with the older you get, your face undergoes a change etc. This is the latest in the best method of safeguarding that your personal details are not accessed by anyone else.

  I lost my account to stolen identity and my account was suspended for almost 2 years - which caused me to lose secure access to a most needed website! After submitting the information requested I gained access this year. I'm glad that they reconsidered everything. I'm ecstatic to have it back.

  Getting an ID.me account can be extremely arduous and time consuming. Their help website is voluminous, and absolutely no help. You need to photograph your documents for upload, but you are not told how to set-up the documents so they can be photographed. If you use a REAL ID or Enhanced drivers license as ID, set the license on a dull black background in very good light. I used the backside of an old smartphone as my black background placed in a window with direct sunlight. After photographing make sure their are no blurs or stray reflections. The photograph is clear and readable. They don't say, but I suspect the photographs of your documents are scanned by an automated system, not a person. The automated system needs to find the edges of your documents, in this case your drivers license to orient the document and read the information. That's why photographing on a dull black background is important.

  They are NOT clear that they are NOT part of the **** I thought it was a variation on *********, which I use for SocSec and travel programs, only to find out after the fact that it was a private company, and I didn't need to enter it to pay my taxes. If you are interacting with multiple departments, it might be fine, but I pay quarterly estimated taxes, that's it.
