I originally signed up for a free trial of InstaVision’s security features. When the free trial ended, I intentionally selected and purchased the Solo Plan for $6.99 per month because I only own and use one camera.

However, instead of charging me the $6.99 monthly fee that I agreed to, InstaVision charged my account $149.99. I contacted the company the same day the charge occurred to request a refund because I had not intended to purchase a higher-tier plan and only needed service for a single camera.

My refund request was denied, and I was informed that I was not eligible for a refund. Since I was unable to resolve the matter directly with the company, I filed a dispute through my bank. Unfortunately, the dispute was later denied.

Months later, I discovered that because I had disputed the charge with my bank, InstaVision had suspended or terminated my service. I was apparently expected to contact the company to have service restored after the dispute was denied. However, I was never clearly informed of this requirement and had no knowledge that additional action was needed on my part.

Furthermore, I had no desire to continue the service that had been associated with the disputed charge because the service plan appeared to cover five cameras, while I only own one camera and had originally selected the Solo Plan specifically for that reason.

    My concerns are:

    1. I was charged $149.99 after selecting a $6.99 monthly Solo Plan.
    2. My refund request was denied despite contacting the company immediately.
    3. The company’s billing practices were unclear and resulted in a charge I did not believe I authorized.
    4. I was not adequately informed that my service would remain suspended or that I needed to contact the company after my bank dispute was denied.
    5. I paid for and selected a plan intended for one camera but was charged for a service package that did not fit my needs.

I purchased a motion sensing camera on 10/27/25 from Amazon. The camera does not detect motion or record events properly. I have contacted the customer support many times and they have lied. I provided proof many times to them that the motion sensor does not detect and save video. However, they refused to provide a refund because they claimed the camera works fine. At one point someone from customer support told me the camera only has a range of 25 feet which was never listed on the Amazon description. They since went back on that claim and said they don't know the range of the camera. The pictures on Amazon clearly show the camera being used for long range video. I have the camera and would like to return it for a refund.

I am rejecting this response because: this is word for word the exact message I received several months ago when the company ghosted me and then gaslit me that they had already explained and settled everything.

    Sincerely,

Thank you for contacting us. After reviewing your account, the $32.09 you are disputing does not correspond to any charge on your Instavision account, so we are unable to issue a refund for that amount. We recommend contacting the retailer where the camera was purchased.

Regarding camera performance, our team provided troubleshooting guidance on several occasions, including a recommendation to relocate the camera for improved motion detection. Camera placement directly affects performance, and comparison with a different manufacturer's device would not be applicable here.

For the $32.09 dispute, please reach out to Amazon or your credit card provider for further assistance.

I am rejecting this response because: per my previous discussions there is no other window to move it to.  The window as a perfect view of the cars directly in the center of the camera frame.  The camera includes no guidance on setting up the camera location.  Based on the pictures on the Amazon page the camera is set up exactly how the pictures display.  You know just as well as I do that the return window for Amazon is 30 days and has closed.

    Sincerely,

This occurred on March 19, 2026. This involves a subscription for a security camera. I had authorized this company to debit My Account for a monthly fee of $6.99. On March 19, they debited it for $69.99, which is an annual fee. After notifying them and demanding a refund they only refunded me $51. Telling me that they charged two months service fee from the refund plus a five dollar fee to process the refund. In my opinion, this is theft since I canceled the service the day they charged my account. My feeling is this is a scam operation.
