Complaint Regarding Misrepresentation and Unauthorized Financing Changes *** Hoover *************************** of ******, ** My husband and I recently visited *** Hoover *************************** of Odessa with the intent to purchase an **. During the financing process, we were informed that due to our credit standing, we would need a co-signer. My father, who has an excellent credit score (over 800), agreed to co-sign.We proceeded to complete all required paperwork, which clearly listed my husband as the primary borrower and my father as the co-signer. The next day, we received a call from the dealership stating they had found a better financing option through ************. We were not asked to review or sign any new paperwork related to this change.Later that month, my father received documentation from ************ listing him alone as the primary borrowerwith no mention of my husband on the loan at all. Not only was my husband completely removed without our knowledge or consent, but the interest rate provided by ************ was significantly higher than what we were initially told.We returned to the dealership to resolve this issue and were told by the finance officer that nothing could be done. We also contacted ************ directly, and they confirmed that the only loan application and paperwork they received had only my father's nameas if he were purchasing the ** independently.This represents a clear bait-and-switch tactic and misrepresentation by *** Hoover ** of ******. Not only were we misled about the terms and nature of the financing, but my father was unknowingly placed in full financial responsibility for a purchase he co-signed to supportnot to take ownership of.There were other issues with our experience, but this is the most serious and concerning. We are requesting that this matter be investigated and corrected, and that appropriate action be taken to prevent other customers from experiencing the same deception.Business Response

Recreational loans do not have primary and secondary buyers. they are equal co-buyers both father and son are on the loan. We have full documentation proving that the loan is not in one name only. It is even titled in both their names.

I bought a BadBoy zero turn lawn mower. In the last 8 months the dealer has had my mower for greater than half of that time for repairs. I requested a refund, to purchase a different mower. Not having the lawn mower presents a health hazard to my family due to mosquitos. There is also an increase in snakes.Business Response

My husband and I were at *** Hoover looking at RVs, and possibly considering a purchase in the future. Our salesman, ******, showed us a couple in our price range and said we could start paperwork to see if we would qualify. He said he needed a $1000 refundable deposit while they ran our credit. We were there for quite some time and they were busy so we said we would head home and wait to hear from him. After we left I told my husband I thought we were jumping into this purchase too quickly, the amount for a down payment was going to be more than anticipated, and I didnt care for ******* in the finance departments attitude and way of doing business. I called *** Hoovers within 20minutes of leaving and told them to not pull my credit that we had decided to wait on purchasing an RV and would like my $1000 refundable deposit put back on my debit card. The ** of the store, *****, called and spoke with my husband and guaranteed we would receive our refund within 5-7 business days; I allowed an extra couple of days and called this morning at 9:45 May ******, and spoke to the sales manager to inquire on the status of our refund at which time he said we would not be issued a refund since we purchased an alliance Paradigm 5th wheel from Blue Compass RV in Alvin *** I dont think my refund should be tied up in a ***** dispute ***** dealerships, the sales manager of *** Hoover stated that ***** the ** had sent him a text to not issue a refund because the salesman at Blue Compass bragged to him that he sold us an RV. They are now telling me that my deposit was ******* money which that was never said at the time I filled out papers with *** Hoover dealership. I specifically asked ****** the salesman if the deposit was refundable or I would not have given a deposit. This is a poor way to do business and will definitely make me NEVER consider doing business with *** Hoover RV.Business Response

1/31/2025 we done a trade in with *** Hoover of Katy ****** We finally got a letter from our trade in saying was finally paid on 2/24/25!!!! Closed on 1/31/2025. Way past the alloted time told would be paid off resulting in $303.58 in interest due to not being handled in timely manner. I reach out to **** the manager as he was our salesperson the 1st time around. He said they would reimburse us. It's been 7 days now and still nothing BUT THEY WITHOUT MY CONSENT RESENT PAPERS TO OUR FUNDER UPPING THE LOAN $439!!! HOW CAN THEY DO THAT?? I have a signed contract!!!Business Response

I took my ** to *** Hoover on 19 December 2024 to have some warranty issues taken care of. I asked them to look at some damage that was not covered by warranty and give me an idea of how much it would cost to have it repaired. When I got the ** back pm 28 December 2024 they charged me $189 for the estimate. I challenged it and they said it was the minimum to do any work claiming the estimate was work done. They said it was in the fine print of the approval document I signed when I dropped it off and the money would be deducted from the repair costs if they did they did the repair work. However, they did not provide me with the estimate they charged me for. I requested the estimate multiple times and they did not provide me with one. They referred to the expense receipt and claimed that was the estimate but there was no estimate, just a receipt. I have reached out to *** Hoover through their webpage and they have not responded. In summary, I was charged $189 for a service that was not provided. I am seeking a full refund because the estimate has no value now. If the BBB cannot resolve this I will take further actions against *** Hoover.Business Response

However, the refund never appeared in my account. I contacted the manager about it and he said he would look at it Monday. The refund still has not appeared in my account. When I contacted him about this he did not reply. I have now disputed this charge with my bank and am considering further actions.

On 10/18/2024 I had purchased a ************ and did not know I signed a service contract on the motor that had took away from the down payment so on the contract with in all the other contracts I had to signed it says I Quote: If you cancel this Contract and do not receive a refund from us or the Seller, please contact the ***************** Unquote. So on 10/25/2024 I went to *** Hoover and had them to fill out the MARINE CANCELLATION FORM that they would not even email to me and talking to *** the manager and *** ******* F&I Manager they tell me the refund has to go back to the Lienholder and this is not what my contract says but on the MARINE CANCELLATION FORM it says it the refund goes to the lienholder and that was not on the Original Contract and on 12/03/2024 I called Protective Asset Protection and ask them has *** Hoover RV & MARINE CENTER sent you the Cancellation Form yet and the said no so the man emailed me that form to feel out and sent back to him on Email on 12/05/2024 *** Hoover is playing games to PROFIT EXTRA MONEY and I lost another $ ******** for Paint and Fabric Protection that I also did not see that when I was signing the documents why would I want to pay that money out on a 8 year old Pontoon Boat that paint was already faded and the Interior not in the best shape the answer to that I would not it would be a WASTE OF MONEY you see if they had not took a total of $ ******** out for all of these Unauthorized Deductions I would had more down payment and my payment now would not be $ ****** today when *** ******* showed me on the Computer all of the figures I don`t think the $ ******** or the $ ******** or I would had stop right there and told him no DEAL there was other Complaints to BBB on *** Hoover in other states and cities I never knew it would be a problem with the ************* in ***** what happen to the Handshake that you used to be able to trust , I want that refund paid to me not to ********************* Thank you .Business Response

On 10/9/24 went to ******** ** location. Meet with ********. I was very ***** on my price that I would even consider. After back forth not meeting my $. Salesman put on bottom of page ******. X_____________.sign to lock in price. When I left dealer there was no deal. 30min later salesman calls can do my price. ***. But the one I want is in ******** tx and would have to be delivered up and be here Saturday. At 2:37pm salesman calls and states they needed a deposit. I was estate about it. Gave my C.C. info and was sent a receipt for $1000. Never stated nonrefundable. I asked where that $ would be applied and said would go towards purchase. So instead of $******. I would owe 59 000. I was paying cash for **. They took $ at 2;44pm on 10/9/24 and by 3:55pm 10/10/24 haven't heard from them. Sent text wanting to no any info. At first was gonna finance. 4:30 was told finance lady was off. 5:45pm was sent a audio message. 5:46pm I sent a text stating to just cancel and refund my $1000. 5:48 said papers was already in progress and won't cancel. We're handling it. 10/14/24 Rv suppose to be there Saturday now audio won't be there till Tuesday. 10/15/24 1:25pm had situation come up about health so contacted them to let them no I would not be purchasing and to refund my $. 10/16/24 @9:34am Was told to contact ****** the manager. Said couldn't refund my $ and that the $ would be attached to my account/name and will be there whether it's a day or 10years from now or forever for future use. I just said bye. I have talk with my gap coverage company and have copies of the check that was send to *** hoover rv and talk with *** hoover several times about my gap refund and they told me they haven't received it but have had the check for over a month and refused to send me my refund I talk with them this morning and keep being told the same thing but they still will not send me the checkBusiness Response
