On April 11 2014 i went online to rent a center to purchase a bed the next day I spoke to ****** about the agreement and she said that it would be delivered Thursday 18 my son felt like that took to long and I just moved into a new apartment and I didn't need another bill right now so I called on Saturday 13 to cancel the purchase I spoke to ***** about the refund which should have been cancelled right then but today I looked on the account and its still there I just want my money back which $64.94 and I will never be bothered with this company again ****** learned everyone is saying it's cancelled but guess what not cancelled in bank account.Customer Answer

I purchased a Whirlpool washer an dryer from rent a center few years ago I requested a new washer an dryer and the district manager *** advised it was new i received the purchase agreement and it stated it was new, but come to find out it was used, i have had to have them come out to repair the dryer 4-5 different times (its still broke an unsafe to use), taking time out of work losing pay for them to keep repairing the same issue, the technician that came out advised it looked as though there was water in the dryer, (the dryer was up on two 4inch cement block) basement did not leak so unsure how we would have gotten water inside the dryer. Two of the rent a center men came out one of them got zapped trying to switch a wire an they never put the back metal plate on dryer to cover the wires! the dryer vent inside was destroyed by one of the employees or techs its ripped, we are unable to dry clothes for more than 5 mins with out the dryer shutting off giving us an E1 F3 error they had a tech come out to replace this 3 times now. i have tried to reach out to the district manager ***** at the corporate office and got no reply no call no email nothing. i owe ****** left on the items an i simply just want a new dryer which was what i was suppose to get and didnt instead they sold me a dryer with all kinds of issues! the piece where the dryer vent hooks to the back was all rusted (how is it new if its rusted that tells me at some point someone returned this dryer because of water damage.)Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: they have not contacted me since filing the complaint with the better business bureau they have in past sent technician out 4 different times to repair dryer an it still is not fixed an now that it's almost paid off there response was there is an additional fee you can pay each week and if something does happen well come out to fix it. I just want to pay them off I purchased a new dryer an its far from that it's a piece of garbage that has to be repaired every few weeks an once im done paying it off it's not rent a center's issue when they should have sold me a new dryer as agreement stated. Still have not gotten a call from district manager ***** an the general manager just says he'll look into it an doesn't get back to you. They keep Harrasing me for payment but won't get me a new dryer so they can be paid off. There are several customers that say once there ready to pay item off it's broke or unusable how is this expectable when they over price items an want business but when something is wrong with an item they won't do right an get the issue resolved. How is it ok foe me as a customer to have a tech come out every two weeks to fix. Dryer that shouldn't keep breaking im losing time out of work! The two rent a center men whom tried to fix if an switch out for a loaner dryer messed up my dryer im paying for there's no back plate where the wires go which could cause a fire then who's going to be liable? The vent inside dryer is ripped who's going to pay medical bills if one of us get cut on it. I'm not trying to be unreasonable I jut want a new dryer at this point the dryer has had enough technicians come out to repair to where I should be getting a replacement. I am rejecting this response because:they have not out reached ro me to get resolution to the matter not by phone or email. The district manager had not reached out to address this matter either. Each time I speak with rent a center they just set up an appointment with g&g appliances to repair the issue then a week or two go by an get same issue it's a reoccurring problem. Calling them gets me no where as there not fixing the issue of selling there customer a broken dryer that they keep putting a bandaid on there has been no resolution to this matter.Business Response

Rent a center has come out 6 times to assess an try an repair dryer with no success. I do not want dryer repaired any longer as it's clearly not working. Acceptance Now transactions are not financing arrangements or loans. Acceptance Now purchases the merchandise selected by the customer from the host store, and then rents the merchandise to the customer through a terminable agreement that contains the disclosures as required by applicable law. Our District Manager has attempted to review the terms of the agreement with **********************. Despite our best efforts to address their concerns, we are unable to reach a resolution to this matter.

First and foremost, the first complaint I made was not resolved. They like saying that it was resolved it wasnt. Second, my bed has been broke for a week now the store is knowledgeable. They have yet to get me a different bed. I spoke to ****. I spoke to And hes constantly giving me excuses on why they not taking care of their job. On February 20th I spoke with rent a cent about something that was on my account that was never delivered to my residence because their employees couldnt communicate properly. This was on my account for going on a month until I spoke with someone on the 20th and the manager told me it would be taken off my account that day and I had nothing to worry about. The following morning on February 21 $173 and some change was taken out of my account for this item that I never received and I still on April 13 have yet to receive my money back. I returned the stereo I had because I didnt want to deal with them anymore I had two payments left on a laptop I have which is less than what they owe me. They continually came to my door harassing me and my roommate so I told him if they showed up again when I was at work to just give them the stereo. They again showed up April13th and my roommate gave them the stereo where they proceeded to discuss my account with him which is completely illegal. He is not on my account. And also, a couple weeks later after the 173 was taken out of my account another $85 was then taken out of my account which was OK because I owed my payment for the computer but to this day I still have not received the money that was taken out of my account for something I didnt have or never had And the manager refuses to take care of it.Business Response

Had a great Nakato F7 ******************* Bicycle, had the bicycle in my possession for 3 days and even though the bike Electrics we're not working. Rent-A-Center asked for me to return it so they can fix the issue, it's been over 3 weeks already, tried calling today and no one answered 4x. On March 28th I paid for an ebike on rent a center said in stock was expecting to have in 3-7 days as it said. When I called to schedule pick up they didn't even have the item. Told me they would put an order in an on April 10th I could just walk out with it. When April 10th came and I called to schedule they decide to tell me I have to make 3 months down-payment....That's the price of the whole bike. And was never told to me at all until the bike came in and I ALREADY PAID FOR THE ITEM.ALREADY SIGNED AGREEMENT THEY LIED TO ME MULITPLE TIMES AND ADDING ON FEES. I RENTEED ONE ITEM A 55 INCH SMART TV AND I PAID IT OFF AND OWN IT. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS THEY ARE LIERS. YOU CANT TRUST THEM. I TRUSTED TO THEM TO HAVE THE **** IN WEEK NOW IM IN A RUT BECAUSE I DECIDED TO TRUST THEM AND HAVE NO **** TO DOORDASH. I purchased online through Rent-A-Center a 20 piece dining room set a sectional and a TV stand on April 9, 2024. I set up delivery online through my confirmation email I received from Rent-A-Center. It was scheduled for April 11 1 to 4 PM when I did not receive no call or see my furniture arrived. I proceeded to call them at 5 PM an hour after delivery was supposed to arrive when the woman worker your employee got on the phone. She asked me when my delivery was made. Did I after then call the store to confirm that delivery was gonna work for them , and that online orders are wrong and you have to call the store after youre giving a timeframe and day. You can select yourself if thats the case and the store needs to pick the day I feel there should be no option for online delivery as a conversation continues because I was frustrated at this point by no communication Carries on to say, did you call after your order to make sure we can deliver it and I said yes matter fact, I did call and I left my information with your other associate, but I forgot to catch her name so she made a .2 minutes, apparently asked all her employees if they took my call or if I was telling the truth she said I was lying and that nobody took my call and I never called so I got called a liar I have to do the coordinator job for her and then I asked above her. She said theres no one above her. Shes the manager shes trying to help me but all Im doing is talking over her. I was talking over her. Shes raised her voice and wouldnt let me talk and was saying are you done yet? Are you done yet? Are you done yet , very unprofessional when I called her professional she said no youre professional no, youre unprofessional and your employee was fighting with a customer her being unprofessional and then she was a blame it on the customer. She said that well online is wrong so your delivery isnt until next Tuesday. I have been waiting for over a week line. I said I never did. I got that option by your online site for delivery and everything shes telling me I understand working retail for 11 years of my life that is not the customers communication. The customer service is so terrible that I dont even want the furniture. I want to not do business with you guys cancel my contract. I prefer not to have no furniture to do business with Rent-A-Center after how your employee was so disrespectful yelled over me talked over me and told me I was a liar and then I had to call the store to confirm to see if that delivery day worked for you guys after I was given the option of that day , so that you dont even need a delivery coordinator online any of that because she needs her job done for her if I have to call to make sure my appointment works for you. Thats a problem. Your lake store is very ghetto for business. I chose to go with you guys, but I shouldve went with ****** because you guys are Rent-A-Center. You guys arent ****** you guys just sell ******* stuff by third-party so since youre third-party you let your employees just make whatever delivery works best for them and the online option is not really option. I will never do business with Rent-A-Center. I have never been treated with such disrespect because of lack of communication among coworkers and the lack of the people , that doesnt think whats their job title me and my three-year-old are going to sit on the floor my brand new apartment because Id rather do that than ever be talked to and treated that way and we called a liar and make sure she asked all her other coworkers call me a liar dont you for customer service online orders if you cant make online orders and deliveries and set them up then take the option away instead of going through this hassle and be treated less than the delivery Internet whatever she is doesnt know her job and thinks she can tell her customers when and when they cant and what they say is wrong about their furniture when they can get it delivered if they can talk to Manager telling the truth Ill be up there tomorrow, April 12 *********************************************************************************************************************************************** do you need to do business with you guys?Business Response

I live in a brand new new built home first person to move in. I ordered a brand new refrigerator from Rent A Center. They gave me an old refrigerator. The refrigerator had to go back to them for repairs. They brought bk they sent someone out to look at it. I seen roaches running from up under refrigerator so I moved it to kill them. Looked to see where are they coming from to find a ***** nest in the back of the refrigerator. Why would they sell this to me??????? This is wrong Im still paying on the refrigerator. Stopped in to the ******, ** location to inquire about a specific 2 piece sectional on March 22nd, 2024 and worked with Candy. She and I had a 4 minute phone conversation the next day, where I explained that I was not going to go through with the financing at that time. Low and behold, I had a new account show up on my credit report that was reported as opened on March 23rd. I called and spoke with store manager and he insisted that I did not have an active account, which leads me to believe that my social was used as a means for their numbers to look good by opening a new account fraudulently and then closing it/removing it. This is criminal activity and I should be compensated for this fraud.Business Response

Upon receipt of your complaint, Rent-A-Center submitted a request to have all trade lines reported by us removed from ****************** credit.
Rent-A-Center can request but not guarantee that the credit reporting agencies will comply with our request to remove the trade line and there are no guarantees as to the effect of the removal of the trade line on the customers credit score or status. Updates to credit *** take up to sixty (60) days to reflect.

Thank you for your response. I am rejecting this response because the request for the trade line to be removed will not guarantee the removal of said trade line from my credit report. Furthermore, it does not dismiss the fact that an account was opened fraudulently with my name and SSN and has affected my credit score and the opportunity to be served by another lender. A Rent-A-Center representative acted with negligence by opening this account. While all of our civil settlement avenues have yet to be explored, the resolution I would consider would be $1,789 in store credit. This would promote your willingness to mend our relationship and allow for myself and others to feel comfortable being your customer.

Two months ago I paid a bill using my card for a relative *******************, I indicated to the sales rep that I didn't want to keep my card on file for future payments. They agreed this will be a one time charge. However the relative didn't pay there bill and they charged my card without authorization. When I called I informed the man in collections ***************** that I am not a lease holder on the property and I'm not apart of the contract and he made two unauthorized transactions on my account without my permission. The man refused to give me my money back after I told him he charged my card and I'm not apart of the contract. He was very rude and disrespectful.
