1 starBait and switch with the plan pricing. When you call to figure out what's going on they will change your plan, because they know they are scamming people, but they won't let you see the energy facts label or any plan documents before you agree to the new plan. 1 starHorrible!!! We requested an itemized statement because every month we are paying the amount requested and displayed online. You cannot change the amount to pay. 2-3 days after, we always receive a disconnect notice for an additional amount of $230-$380 more to be paid in the same month. No empathy, no assistance and no one speaks English….Maria the supervisor could not answer. Robbery….Run fast!!!!Gexa Energy, L.P.

1 starI contacted ***** ****** for electric power. Meanwhile talking to the agent he did not mention me any energy proficient thermostat that's what I remember and after the talk he told me I need to agree for the contract that he's going to read through. So I said yes thinking that he's just reading out the contract for electricity power. I said yes to all his questions. I was not giving that much attention to when I said Later their technician called to make an appointment for installing the energy efficient thermostat. I told him I did not ask for that. He replied that it's free so I installed it. After 2 months I knew that is going to be costly 9.99 per month for 2 years contract and if you break the contract is going to be $200. I had a much better thermostat than they are thermostat. I contacted Gexa energy and they told me that they reviewed the contract and listened to the conversation which reveal that I had agreed for the thermostat. When I asked if I can listen to the conversation I had with age they told me that their policy doesn't let me listen to it. I mentioned them about the conversation I had with the technician but they were not ready to listen to that conversation where it should say this is free from Texas energy. This is very frustrating. I don't recommend Gexa energy for anyone. the Kansas national fee is $200 for the thermostat. When I asked the customer service agent what kind of energy proficiency this thermostat provides me then the previous thermostat I had he told me it regulates temperature then I told him that is what thermostat does he didn't have any other answerGexa Energy, L.P.

1 starMy previous electricity contract had expired. So, I shopped for a company that had a comparable price per kWh of what I was paying. I saw that Gexa was advertising 11.8 cents per kWh, which was about the same price as my previous contract with a different company. I signed up for the Gexa Eco Saver Plus 24. one of the stipulations within the plan was I would receive a $125.00 bill credit if my usage reached 1000 kWh within the billing cycle. I was sold and signed for the plan. After getting my account set up, I received an "Electricity Facts Label" that detailed my contract that I just signed. One of the things I noticed was my "Energy Charge" showed 19.88 cents per kWh and the next thing I noticed was a cancellation fee of $295.00 if I didn't meet my contract term of 24 months. When I received the bill, it was about $100 more than the cost of my previous company. After I calculated the cost of having the plan and comparing it to my previous company's plan, I noticed I was paying a lot more. So, I decided to cancel my contract. When the bill came in, it was $1,047.03. I learned that when the contract is canceled, the customer incurs the cancellation fee, usage of the previous amount, can't receive the bill credit, and the usage is priced at the 19.88 cents per kWh that isn't in "My Plan" on my account. I contacted Gexa customer service and they wouldn't waive any fees or a portion of the $1,047.03. I asked these simple questions in my inquiry with customer service, "Would you have this plan on your house for your family? If 'no', why charge your customers this price? Why do you advertise 11.8 cents per kWh?" I never received an answer.
I would never recommend this company to anyone. No one in America would sign up for that plan if they knew the totality of what they would be receiving. These people that are on the board for this company are scamming everyone that fall for the advertisement. Terrible company to use.Gexa Energy, L.P.

1 starCustomer service is terrible, does not communicate with the customer. I found a better company with better rates, so I decided to go. I called after receiving my bill to set up a payment arrangement customer service did not help as the account was still active. I was told their collection department will contact me to get this sorted out. I called again and did not get helped. I did not received a call, an email, or letter to get this resolved. I called again to get this paid and I was told it was sold to a third party collector. When I asked why they didn’t call me to get this done. All I received was excuses, sometimes the numbers are blocked, we don’t have access to the email etc. this is something every other company does to ensure the payment is done. But not Gexa, customer service is horrible, they are rude, and unwilling to help. They did nothing to rectify this issue, all I was giving was not one but two numbers and said call and find out which one might have it.Gexa Energy, L.P.

1 starGexa ***** ******* program is a scam. They don't tell you how much to reduce usage during the time they give you. So, you can't gain points or reduce your bill. I talked to 4 reps who could not explain the program or how I would know what my usage is normally or how to check if I have earned points!!!!!Gexa Energy, L.P.

1 starWorst energy company I have experienced. I prefer budget billing to keep my monthly bills averaged. GEXA employees messed this up and out of the blue told me I had to pay the balance or get shut off. This was not an ongoing conversation but was literally from one bill to the next. The whole point of budget bill I g was to make sure a cost spiked bill did t occur and pay deficits over time. Instead I got a bill for 3 times what I would have paid if I kept the normal billing. Direct result of poor customer service reps. I will be leaving GEXA as soon as the contract is up or can be bought out by a REAL electric company and not one that brokers others energy.Review fromNick N

1 starWe should have looked at these reviews before switching… our bill with another company was always 200 dollars now with Gexa it’s 600. Same house same usage everything. We got scammed with the false advertising of cheaper rates. We’ve had issue after issue. We mailed in a payment and they claim the check was returned but they took the money. So we had to pay again or get electricity turned off. We do that now we have to wait 10 days to see if they will credit the account. Even though they already cashed a check. Customer service with Gexa is an absolute nightmare. Nobody can or will help. When you try to escalate the issues they say no supervisors will talk to you. I regret making this switch. As soon as I can I will run from this company. It’s been a nightmare from day 1!!! Do not use them. Do not.Review fromAlice B

1 starGexa Energy is one of worse utility companies. My bill with them is the highest and continues to go up. When I picked Gexa as my utility provider No one was living in my house only thing that was running is air conditioner but a bill was higher that when someone actually lives in daily. Other companies l had before were better than Gexa.
Today it’s hot in Texas, legally an electricity shouldn’t be disconnected from past due bill arrangements can be done but Gexa disconnected my electric.
I wouldn’t refer Gexa to anyone. Their employee hang up on me today.Gexa Energy, L.P.
