- Additional Info:Read moreBBB has received consumer complaints stating consumers made advanced payment via Western Union for accommodations at the Purple Royal Hotel but were unable to cancel or get a refund for their reservations. Consumers indicated they signed up to attend an upcoming Gender Inequality and Human Rights Organization (GIHRO) conference and were required to secure and pay for a hotel of the organization's choice.
On September 21, 2016, BBB opened its investigation into Purple Royal Hotel due to the recent allegations in consumer complaints and reports to Scam Tracker questioning the authenticity of the GIHRO and Purple Royal Hotel.
BBB's reviewed Purple Royal Hotel's website. The website indicates it is located near downtown Dallas and offers "a king sized bed overlooking the Arabian gulf." Further investigation revealed that the address advertised on its website does not exist. BBB located duplicate hotels online called Mabel Royal Hotel, Priscilla Royal Hotel, and Bravo Royal Hotel.
In addition, BBB reviewed GIHRO's website. The website indicates there are upcoming conferences being held at City Place Conference Center. BBB contacted the facility that inform us that GIHRO has never held a conference and does not have any future conferences scheduled to be held at City Place Conference Center.
BBB has been unable to locate any business registrations for Purple Royal Hotel, the duplicate hotels, and GIHRO.
