I hired Recovery Law Group around May 7th 2024 for ***** 7 bankruptcy. After the initial consultation and payment arrangements were made for $1840.I paid $200 and 200 ea month after. And I was given letters to send to my debtors. 1 month later I started receiving calls from some of my debtors and reported them to ***. One person was very RUDE. ** I had asked to speak with Lawyer. I was told to contact by email only. 2nd month I was receiving calls from debtors to give an bankruptcy code number i gave them the company and phone number... i was told by my debtors. There's no such code on file . I called *** demanding to speak with my lawyer. Still nothing. I would upload screenshot of calls and letters of my **** owed. Then I gotten a letters I was been sued by 1 of my debtors. I starting to feel letters down by RLG Noone was upfront with me. I found out this company wasn't even local. When I applied I was told were www. also in ****. Which isn't true. I was becoming nervous and confused bc had I known this could happen to me still.. I May have chosen to struggle to pay my debts. I lost trust with. *** and I stopped payments after $600 later. I couldn't get helpful answers from other them. Othet( O" yea in your state they can sue you)...they never told *** had to pay totally cost before any court set date. I found out through investigation them myself and others, BBB.. I'm scared now bc I had to find another bankruptcy local comp to me re-start an bankruptcy case and fight one of my debtors who is suing me. I called RLG to ask for a refund $600 noone is returning my calls they have close my online acct. And i can't talk to anyone about my case.. I have no extra money I live pay check to pay check.I had to file bankruptcy with another company that's costing $1400.RLG has done nothing for me that I couldn't have done myself is write a letter. I BELIEVE RECOVERY LAW GROUP IS SORRY SCAM! and I'm sorry I trusted them. I will be filing a Bar grievance on them.Business Response

As was explained to you during the consultation and at the time you retained and executed the agreement, we cannot and do not file your bankruptcy case until your legal fees are paid in full. This is clearly outlined in the retainer agreement and you accepted the payment plant and signed and initialed the section explaining this.
The letters we create and send to you to send out are part of the process and there to help you hopefully stop being harassed by creditors while paying us the fees owed to complete your case. But yes, you can of course still be sued until your case is FILED with the courts and a requirement of the firm and bankruptcy courts is that your legal fees are paid in full.
As far as phone calls and working with clients to assist and answer questions, we are open 12 hours per day, 5 days per week, so saying we do not answer or call you back is simply not true.
You also stopped paying fees back in June of 2024 and stated we were a "scam" against advise of the staff and firm. You closed the file and ended representation by stopping your payments and telling staff that you didn't believe the firm or attorneys and staff were real. Please understand that we work EXTREMELY hard to help and represent clients and complete their cases and get them and their families a fresh start. We are passionate about what we do and helping real people who also want and stay committed to that legal representation and help. The reality is that we have never gone anywhere and continue to help people and have THOUSANDS of 5-star reviews from real people that completed the process and kept in touch with the firm and their attorneys.
We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

I hired this firm 2 years ago for my Bankrupcy ! I did all the work providing document after documents! They kept putting me off. Took my 1800 dollars and still no relief ! I have proof of everything I sent ! They kept asking for the same documents over and over again . I called checking to see when it was going to be filed and they kept putting me off . I paid for several credit counseling . Also, I asked a question about my cars and they are saying I tried to commit fraud it is so not true ! I am upset as they state because 2 years have passed and nothing ! Took my money and now I have had to seek a different lawyer to handle my Bankrupcy ! I had to ask a friend for money to help me with bankruptcy. I am so upset that this law firm has taken my money and I am fighting cancer which there is no cure for ! This company needs to pay back the money they owe me now ! I have filed 2 complaints this is my third ! My new lawyer will be seeking relief from these people if this is not resolved immediately !!!!!! They owe me approximately 1400 ! They did no work as they claim on my Bankrupcy I did all of it ! I have proof also ! I printed all of the proof off for my records and I maintain this company suckered me and they are frauds !Business Response

Respond to Complaint Same Response as your other complaints -
We would love to help you but again you have to submit the necessary paperwork required by the courts. These are NOT our requirements but the actual courts themselves. The firm is clearly not "scammers" as we worked with you on your case as recently as 10/24/24. Your paralegals and legal counsel consistently advised and told you that you would need an appraisal on your house to make sure we could protect the asset and include the necessary paperwork for the courts with your filing.Further we advised that the courts and your legal counsel cannot allow you to pick and choose which assets you disclose and which you would not to disclose such as vehicles and other items of value.
You became irate and started yelling at staff stating "I don't need an appraisal and that what you have are requesting is false", continued to state that we are lying and that she doesn't want to include the cars in the bankruptcy or other assets, tried to explain to her all disclosure is required but she told me that I was lying and kept calling me a scammer. We have to follow the requirements of the court.
This is not just our requirements but all attorneys and law firms practicing in the courts. The Bankruptcy courts have access through the ********************* and the ********************* to access all information about you and your financial situation. Failure to disclose or hide assets would and could be considered fraud. Your attorneys and legal team want to see nothing more than a successful outcome in the case but we have to comply with the laws and rules of the courts. You stated you would like to close your file with the firm to which we complied and ended representation at your request.
We hope you find the solution you are looking for and wish you the best in the future with your endeavors.

I am writing to formally document recent developments regarding a legal agreement with Recovery Law Group. After signing a contract and completing payment in full, I received a call from Mr. ******* ***** informing me that he will not be filing my bankruptcy case. For clarity, I initially contacted the Recovery Law Group back in April 2024, who indicated that ******* **** would be the assigned lawyer, while ******** Wajda was the one who signed the agreement. The handling of this process has lacked transparency, which is unfortunate, especially given that the firm's clients are already navigating financial ***************. Shortwhom I have not previously met or signed an agreement withadvised me to seek local legal counsel and verbally confirmed that a refund will be issued within the next 24 hours. However, I have not yet received any written confirmation of this information.Business Response

Hi *****,
As discussed we have issued and proceeded with a full refund in your case due to the circumstances of your case. We wish you the best in your endeavors. We will not discuss your case further in an open forum online.
Customer Answer
Date: 11/17/2024
I am rejecting this response because the business avoided its responsibility to fulfill the signed contract, claiming that issuing a refund resolved the matter. However, the real issue was the lack of transparency, diligence, and ethics in signing a contract in a state where the lawyer was not authorized to practice. This was not merely a refund issue but a clear breach of contract, and professional standards.Business Response

Their Texas office is located at *****************************************************I contacted Recovery Law Group in late Sept. 2024 by phone - Attorney ******* **** did a consult with me. I had been served court papers because I am being sued by a credit card company. ******* said to put out the fire completely and file bankruptcy- so I paid my full amount of $1950- which differs from the contract they provided. Still I thought they would get this done ASAP because of my situation. I was told so many different versions of what could be done with every call I made. ******* **** has begun to ignore my emails. I begin to wonder if this place is REAL OR WHAT. They take ZERO RESPONSIBLITY FOR THEIR WRONGDOING. It's now Oct. 28th, 2024 and my appt with the paralegal isn't even set till Nov. 12th. It was Nov. 25th but I called and asked to move it up ! ! ! I did that not them. Contact for ******** Wajda ************. ******** Wajda hung up on me today Oct. 28th, 2024- and then another guy who I was told would help me by ******* **** also bullied me for an hour this morning-Prep Manager and Director of Legal Operations, ******* *****. He told me he didn't have a boss, also refused to give me his attorney license information - like he owned the company. He also threatened to make me wait even longer is I try to do anything about my request for PROMPT ACTION. They all threaten to make you wait even longer if you try to move your appointment- sometimes months and months. The entire organization tries to avoid and steer you in circles. I get constant texts requests for more documents- JUST ANOTHER STALL TACTIC. When in fact I email and upload all the documents and instead of them processing the information it just sets in email boxes. They stall and misinform to keep you from getting your MONEY back. You paid to get insulted and threatened.Business Response

Dear BBB- I just read the response from my complaint. Unfortunately it is just more nonsense. I am emailing to let you know that in the next few days I will be seeking legal counsel in respect to my complaint. I do not want to respond to Recovery Law Group until I get legal advice. Can you let me know if you get this email? I understand that I have 10 days to respond to the answer they provided. I am in the process of FIRING THEM but I have to get legal assistance in doing so. I also want to let you know that I have filed a complaint against them with the *****************************, the ***- *******************************, the ****************************** and once I receive the paperwork the *********************. I DO NOT WANT TO LET THEM KNOW THAT I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. If you do a ****** search on this company Recovery Law Group- also known as Wajda & Associates, PC you will see dozens of complaints about them. This is how I got alerted to their wrongdoing. I also found numerous complaints against Nick *********************** They are fully aware of the fact that they breech their contracts with clients and never give them a refund ! ! ! ! ! ! This is just illegal PERIOD. Thank you and PLEASE RESPOND to me if you read this.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: After my initial complaint I had 3 separate consults with reputable bankruptcy attorneys. The consults were all free. I was given legal direction that is not in line with the advice I received from Recovery Law Group therefore I terminated my contract with them by email in writing effective Oct. 31st, 2024. The three attorney's I consulted with performed a lengthy in depth investigation into my situation. ******* **** attorney for Recovery Law Group NEVER DID ANYTHING LIKE THIS. In addition to that the three other attorney's all determined that it would be a financial disaster for me to file bankruptcy. I outlined all of this in my client attorney termination letter with Recovery Law Group which I have attached.
Upon receiving my email, I got a call from **** at Recovery Law Group requesting that I call him immediately. I tried to call back and got put on hold for so long I finally hung up. I also had another two emails from ******* ****. I have attached his response. I made it clear that I wanted an immediate refund of the $1950 in the termination letter/email. I paid those fees up front for services that I never got. Recovery Law Group breached their contract with me, therefore they are not entitled to any compensation. Once again ******* **** tried to push me to continue working with the company. See attached response email from ******* **** where he continues to tell me that filing bankruptcy is a good solution. Not only that but he asks me to provide details about the ownership of my home (he does not appear to know what he is doing.) There three other attorney's I consulted with knew exactly where to find this information online- FOR FREE. This company does not even accept when they have been terminated. I have many other issues in regards to how my transaction with Recovery Law Group went, this is just a portion of the details.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and frustration regarding my bankruptcy process with Attorney ******** Wajda of Recovery Law Group. Despite paying $1,850 in full for legal services nearly two years ago, I have seen little to no progress in my case. If it were possible I would give them negative 10 stars. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIRM THEY ARE THE WORST! Over the course of this nearly 2 year ordeal, I have had to resubmit my documents twice and am now required to retake a credit counseling course for the third time, incurring additional costs. This process has caused immense financial strain, damage to my credit, and personal distress. I am unable to secure employment or a vehicle, and as the holidays approach, I am left struggling to provide for my family.I called today and still cant get answers. They offered be a refund of $300 and their managers are rude and couldnt care less. They treat you like scum. I am considering legal action against ******** Wajda and Recovery Law Group and intend to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the ******************************, and the California State Bar against this law firm and Attorney ******** Wajda and his team. It is imperative that no one else endures the hardship and neglect I have experienced. This firms conduct is unacceptable, and I urge a thorough review of their practices.1 star

We started this process 2 years ago today. I have repeatedly sent them the documents that they are requesting with ZERO feedback, help or filing. I am rejecting this response because: The services with this company is very awful. I would never recommend this company to anybody just for me to give you $1850 and for you all to not do not one thing for my kids you was paid in full in March. It is now October and I havent even talked to a lawyer every time I call it a different person thats on my case that dont know nothing about my case and youre saying there either not in the office or in a meeting and this is every day. And from the looks of things, I dont hear a person that went to you all yet to say that you all filed their cases thats why I think this is a scam from the jumpBusiness Response

I hired the Wajda Recovery Law Group on November 23, 2023, for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. I paid $250.00. and then made payment arrangements for $200.00 a month. I continuously asked to talk to an attorney for a year because I was constantly being harassed by creditors when I was advised that that would stop when I paid the $250.00. The Wajda Law Group continued to take $200.00 a month off my credit card until I had to cancel my credit card because I had enough of their scam. To this date on October 5, 2024, I have never talked to an attorney, just paralegals **** ****** who was fired and I was never advised that when I left her over 50 messages. Now I have been talking to ***** ****** requesting an itemized bill for any work that was done on my case for about three months and have never received anything. A petition was never filed, and absolutely nothing has been done on my case! Attorney ******** Wajda has stolen $685.00 dollars from me and would have continued to do so if I did not cancel my credit card. Again, they have done nothing on my case, that is why they will not send me an itemized statement! I am at poverty level, and this is so wrong! I cant afford to hire a new attorney because I have no money! PLEASE DO NOT HIRE WAJDA RECOVERY GROUP BECAUSE IT IS A BIG SCAM! I will be filing a Bar Grievance against ******** Wajda!******* *******Business Response

Hi *******,
We wanted to address a few things brought up pertaining to your complaint with the BBB that you seem to be confused on and are not factual. You did speak with an attorney and actually spoke with **** Wajda himself for your initial consultation. The number to reach the firm is ************ and we are open Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Eastern Time (more hours than most business' - 12 hours per day) and you have client portal and can access the firm and information online 24/7 and 365 days per year. Apologies that you were unable to reach the specific person you referenced but we are available anytime if you reach out to the firm directly.
You also spoke with other attorneys and team members regularly in the firm which we have documented including our consumer protection and litigation team when we coordinated for notification of representation and letters to creditors and debt collectors. The payment plan you were on to file bankruptcy stopped back on January 14th, 2024 which was the last payment you made to the firm. However, you did not complete your payment plan and we continued to follow up with you for 5 months to try and assist and continue with the bankruptcy and legal representation.
You contacted the firm finally on 7/12/24 when you got a garnishment order to request the case be filed that day. We explained that you owed additional fees to file with the courts and the necessary steps in terms of documents required and steps for your final review with the attorney and your legal team. We attempted to get you with our team to move the case forward, updated billing information and go over the next steps and you told staff that you didn't have time and would call back later. You then called in 2 days later and requested to cancel the case and didn't want to pay the remaining balance to file. We closed the file accordingly and you stated you wanted a 100% refund.
We understand the situation and wish there was more that we could do in this instance as a refund but substantial work and costs have been performed for your case. Legal counsel's job and role is to interpret the law and report the best possible outcome and solution to our clients.
There is considerable work that is done for every case and file that is opened which is why, it is fine, if you decide not to continue with the bankruptcy and move forward, however, for work completed and performed it is billed at the hourly rate and outlined in the retainer agreement for all clients.
We have costs to pull credit reports, notify creditors, send certified letters(on behalf of clients) , pay staff and open the case file and documents in the office per the legal process with software and physical overhead.
If you would like to continue the process we are here to assist and help but our staff has to be compensated for their time and we must make sure to cover costs for cases and clients when we open a case file and have a signed retainer agreement and contract outlining the fees and process. In your case we have opened the file, started the petition, documented creditors, filed the retainer agreement internally and begun the legal protection process internally (all of which requires human capital, time, software and overhead costs). That said, we have performed the work and have your case and files prepared so that if you decide to move forward we can finish the case requirements and documents to be filed with the bankruptcy court if you decide to finish paying the fees and move forward. Please let us know and reach out to the operations manager with the firm so we can discuss options and the ability to assist further at any time. I am rejecting this response because: I never spoke with any attorney at the law firm! I only spoke with **** ****** who was fired. I continued to call her not knowing she had been fired! Again, I never spoke with any attorney at the law firm! That is a blatant LIE! I want my money back as the firm still refuses to send me an itemized bill. I will be filing a bar grievance against ******** Wajda as he is not fit to be an attorney, and she should not be able to practice law in any state as he steals hardworking people's money.Business Response

I filed for bankruptcy with Recovery Law Group at the beginning of 2023, and paid the full $1,850.00. I Sent them all the information they needed. They said they were overwhelmed, normally people dont move as fast as I was. That I needed to give them time for all the paperwork to process. So I stopped calling and emailing every couple days, and figured they would reach out. Unfortunately, They stopped reaching out to me. I received no phone calls, no texts, no emails, no letters in the mail. I started school in February of last year, and also have 2 kids. 1 with special needs, so my hands got full, and I kinda just thought Id let them do what I paid them to do, since they had all the paper work. Months go by, and now its over a year later, and they closed out my case, and apparently absolutely nothing was filed. They said I was missing paperwork, that has been sent already, and I have proof in my email. I called and they said they sent me a letter stating they were closing my case, but they sent it to the WRONG address. And admitted that over the phone. I never received it, or anything from them. So basically, im out of the money, and they refuse to continue my case, or reopen a new one. I would have to pay the full price again. Im so unsatisfied with how theyve gone about this. I feel very taken advantage of, because if I wasnt reaching out to them, they werent working on my case. I would also like to add, They havent sent the $300 filing fee they legally have to send back to me, from what I was told by a lawyer. Please help me with this, Im very upset about it, and feel like Im at a loss. Below is a picture of one of the last messages I sent.Business Response

Unfortunately, the issue si that that this is not factual in terms of the timeline of events. Further, we are open 60 hours a per week and always answer and address calls and clients.
