I was wrongfully towed from my reserved carport at my apartment complex. The company rapid recovery in killeen tx towed my car from my carport that I have been paying for since 09/2023. They stated it was due to "no sticker" but I have proof from the apartment complex from 01/2025 stating they no longer do stickers everything is now digital. The company is very rude and talked to me very disrespectfully while trying to explain to them the situation. I am not from the area and had to call family 4 hours away to come pick me up due to not being able to go pick up my vehicle since they had my carseat. I asked if they could bring my carseat back so I can **** to get my vehicle they wrongfully towed and now the owner is ignoring calls from my apartment complex manager in regards to a refund. I also have a recording of our conversation of the employee stating he was so excited to tow my vehicle.

I was parked at The Zone in ***************. I was towed about 8:40pm. I came out to my truck missing. No notification, no warning. I had to call *************** ** and was going to report it stolen. The parking lot was mostly empty, as students are gone for the summer. I spoke with the apartment complex and they believe someone called and had it towed. The tow company would not disclose this information. I believe it was towed improperly, and that there is damage underneath. The person over the phone was very rude, wanted to delay my arrival to pick up my vehicle. It looked like my truck had been rummaged through. The male at the counter last night said they could provide me photos because I was worried about damage. He said they could give me the photos. Today I requested the photos and documents in an email and they refused to supply them. I am going to need them for my mechanic and to assess the damage. Their prices were astronomical. I picked my truck up around 10:00-10:30pm. I did not have a ride and had to request an **** for transpiration. Their lack of disclosure leaves a lot of room to question their business practices.

-April 29 2024, I return home to find my car is missing from my parking space, I confirm with my apartment complex that my car has been towed. I had gotten a temporary parking pass that was clearly visible and therefore the tow is illegal. My apartment confirmed with me that it is viable even in the photos the towing company sent. I dont have hundreds of dollars to spend for something that is not even my fault. Rapid recovery has refused to return my vehicle to me and is adamant that there is no parking pass in the vehicle.

Rapid Recovery is contracted with several properties throughout *************, and follow all rules and guidelines.  Our company is contracted with these properties and  we do random patrols throughout the day, there are not certain times or days. If the property requires permits, they need to be visible on the vehicle. If the permit is not visible it is subjected to being towed. We follow all rules and regulations. Before towing any vehicle our agents look for any type of permit that could be located on the vehicles. Pictures are taken before we tow the vehicle to ensure that we can provide the proof of the reason for towing.

I went with my daughter to help unload things in her apartment the night after Christmas. Her complex was totally empty since college kids are all home for Christmas. Parking lot totally empty, not a car in sight except mine and hers. We pulled in at 7:30pm, unloaded and helped her take things up. By 8pm I walked out and my car was gone. Clearly they were waiting and watching since business has been slow since all college kids are home for Christmas. Very unethical company and clearly known for doing this.

My car was towed from the apartment complex that I live in from the spot I pay for. I was told that it was towed because they could not see my permit in the front window and that my driver and passenger windows were tinted to check inside. I had to take a day off of work from my job resulting in lost wages and had to pay to get my vehicle back even though it was in MY spot. When speaking on the phone with one of the workers in the morning she was able to tell me that I was allowed to park in the spot. I was still required to pay a "drop fee" even though I had the right documentation to park there. I have no complaints about the worker I spoke with as she was nice, but this towing company had no right to tow my vehicle when the permit was clearly inside my car and could be seen in the passenger side. I should have not had to have paid a single sent in getting my vehicle back when I was authorized to park there.

My car was towed late last night because it didnt have the correct plates as well as being parked in handicap without the handicap tag. I just moved to *****, and I am also military. The towing driver took pictures at this time, and when I arrived to pick up my car before entering my car I noticed the handicap sign in the passenger seat so I then took a picture. I then open the passenger car door and removed the handicap sign along with proof of ownership to provide to the company. The employees were very rude, made a mockery of the situation, and were unreachable during work hours. I understand that it has to be in the windshield, however the employee thoroughly checked for the tag, walked over to the passenger side and concluded there was no tag and its clearly in the passenger seat.

My daughter ****** in visitor parking at the ************** where she has for the last 4 months. Her car was towed. Then, upon contact, as she is in college-we work to resolve the issue. Bank closed due to holiday. They accept cards. Except the refuse to take her dads payment by phone on the premise of fraud concerns. This said, college students dont have hundreds of extra dollars. She will not accumulate hundred more in charges and miss work due to refusal to accept payment. Both parents lives 4 hours away. This is a scam to profit off college students. Its unethical and they should be ashamed of doing business this way. What goes around comes around.

complaint #2 On Friday 6/16/23 I go to ***** to my mother in laws apartment to pick her up so we can go to the *** to get the registration (the car is in her name). I have my 2 year old and my 3 month old sons with me. I park facing the fence which I have been doing for 7 years now and its what the people in the office have always said was visitor parking. I am in her apartment for about *************************************************** the car and go to the ***. The car is gone. I call the police and they said it was towed. I call the highland villa office and they said they use Rapid Recovery. I call Rapid Recovery and they said it was towed because i have the wrong apartment complex sticker which they know that i live at ************************ because they towed it from there less than a week ago. I told them that I was parked in visitor parking so it shouldn't matter and they informed me that I parked one parking spot over from visitor parking. According to them, only the first 6 spots are visitor parking. I parked in the 7th spot. The parking lot is almost empty anyway. its not like theres a problem finding parking spots. I called the office back and asked where exactly visitor parking was and when it changed. She did not know. I had to wait an hour until someone else came into the office to ask her. I wait, call back in an hour and that person tells me that she doesnt know why it was towed and that she would call the towing company and see what she could do. She couldnt do anything and told me to call back on Tuesday (6/20/23) when someone else would be in the office. So now im stranded at my mother in laws apartment with my two kids and ive only brought one bottle of formula. I get an Uber to pick up my car for the second time which cost $175 but now its too late to go to the *** and its Friday (which was the only day i could take off of work) so now I cant get the registration until monday. for the picture green-visitor red-where i parked.

My ***** Miata was towed from ************************** on April 22, 2023 at 2:20am, which was an AirBnb that I was renting for the weekend. I was parked in an unmarked parking spot directly in front of the apartment I was staying in. I would've never parked in a tow zone! There are absolutely NO signs stating that parking spots are a tow zone, or that a parking pass was needed. I actually walked out that morning to go to my daughter's softball tounament and called 911 because I thought my car had been stolen. After Ubering to the tow yard and picking up my car, I looked all over the complex and found no signs. The tow truck driver said there were signs "everywhere", and there are absolutely NOT! I took pictures all over the complex and there is a sign on one side of the complex by the reserved parking, but I parked nowhere near the reserved parking. Also looking back at the invoice, the numbers written down don't total ******. This tow was completely uncalled for and almost criminal. I would NEVER park in a tow zone. And the fact that it was done at 2:20 in the morning makes it questionable, because I had been parked there all day with no issues. I understand tow truck driver's get paid a commission, but this was just completely uncalled for. This was just an absolte horrific experience for myself, my daughter and friend.

This company illegally towed my vehicle after being told by an employee of ************************** in ******* exactly where to park . There are multiple parking spots clearly marked in large, bold yellow painted letter that say "RESERVED" and a space number. Then there are spots on the end that are NOT marked and are visitor spots according to apartment employee. This employee advised this was a safe space to park and the vehicle would not be towed. Upon our arrival around 12 Noon on today's date, 3/29/23, we found our vehicle was gone. The apartment office advised us to contact Rapid Recovery, who then insisted I was parked in a marked, reserved space and that I was 100% incorrect about the visitor parking. After insisting the tow company was incorrect, they advised me to "call back when I'm ready to make an appointment for pickup and to pay the $317 fee to release the vehicle" and hung up on me. This company is absolutely predatory and scamming people out of money. I insist this company and the apartments be investigated for this activity.
